* ResetMilestones: The Coal layer has four milestones and the Electricity layer has two. The first for both unlocks a new column of ash upgrades, the second for coal lets you buy max coal, the third for electricity and second for electricity keeps ash upgrades on their respective resets, and the fourth for coal allows you to automatically do an ash reset once flame strength drops below 10%.

''The Burning Tree'' is a short IdleGame made in UsefulNotes/TheModdingTree by thefinaluptake and released in 2020. You have a flame that goes down in strength gradually, producing embers in the meanwhile, but you can reset to gain ashes. The former can be spent on ash upgrades, while the latter are used for resources in lower layers.

The game is playable [[https://thefinaluptake.github.io/The-Burning-Tree/ here]].

!!This game provides examples of:
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: Each layer has its own color.
** Ashes: Dark gray
** Coal: Gray
** Electricity: Yellow
* DiminishingReturnsForBalance: Once your electricity exceeds 2500, the game uses a more disadvantegous formula to calculate its effect.
* DivertingPower: You can assign 100% of electricity in increments of 10 to flame effect, ash gain, and ember gain by pushing - and + buttons at any time.
* EndlessGame: There is no defined endgame, but ember gain eventually stops due to flame strength and the other resources don't help much past a certain point.
* ExportSave: You can push a button to export the 1KB+ save file and another to paste it back in, though the game's short length doesn't really make that necessary.
