Come stage 2, the game changes mood ''harshly'': Belle has to traverse a dark forest with many dangers, then goes into Beast's west wing with some platform sections and more enemies, and finally she and Philippe, her horse, have to jump over forest ravines in an autoscrolling section.
* NonActionProtagonist: Belle can only walk, duck and jump to avoid dangers.
* SuperDrowningSkills: Belle doesn't drown, but tumbling into the river costs a life.life.
