* NoClearLeader: The miniboss trio Sweet Cap'n Cakes are a bit confused with regards to which one of them is in charge. Sweet has no idea who the leader is, Cap'n thinks he is the leader and K_K is second in command, and K_K wonders if he can be third.

Noelle suggests there might be some chalk in the supply closet. It is then discovered that Susie has eaten all the chalk.

* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: The player's treatment of Noelle in the Weird Route of Chapter 2 is heavily reminiscent of an abusive relationship. The player acts extremely possessive of her, insists that they are "more than friends" despite her obvious discomfort, repeatedly forces her to do things she doesn't want to do while [[{{Gaslighting}} telling her that they're acting in her best interest]], and ultimately turns her against the person attempting to protect her from them. * StoryBranching: Even though the game makes a point of saying your choices don't matter, there is ''some'' minor differences in the plot of Chapter 1 where, depending on if you spared or fought everyone, Kris and Susie will be able to say goodbye to everyone on amicable terms or be chased out of the dark world by the inhabitants, respectively. Regardless, the beginning of Chapter 2 plays out the same. [[spoiler:Chapter 2 gives the player much more choice where, depending on the player's actions, can end with one of the Lightners ''dead or alive''. Only time will tell how this will play out in the later chapters.]]

* ShootTheMedicFirst: Ralsei is almost guaranteed to die first during harder battles, such as {{superboss}} fights, which is a bit of a problem given that he heals the party and that his Pacify is the only way to end that boss fight if you're doing it the pacifist way. This is probably just a result of Ralsei's [[SquishyWizard awful health and defenses]] that make him statistically the most likely to go down first. Jevil actually ''invokes'' this, as he typically targets Ralsei much more often than Kris or Susie, or targets all three party members at once.

* HalfBakedNiceness: Near the end of chapter one, Kris and Ralsei try to convince Susie to be nice towards their enemies. She doesn't get it. Ralsei tells her to try telling the enemy something that she would want someone to tell her. Susie then tries to say things like "You are unbanned from free ham sandwich day," or "Please keep tackling the soda machine." Surprisingly, it actually works, and the enemies are able to be spared. Thankfully Susie's compliments do improve.
