* ''Manga/BlueSeed'': Gun girl Koume Sawaguchi: the dere side only comes out in the final few episodes when she's alone with her LoveInterest.

* The titular "villainess" of ''[[Literature/EndoAndKobayashiLive Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte.]]'' She's ''so'' far on the harsh side that she has her LoveInterest Sieg convinced that she absolutely detests him. She's even self-aware of the strangeness of her behavior, having several "Why am I like this?!"-type scenes. This leads to her DemonicPossession and death in most of the game routes. It takes "divine intervention" (actually the protagonists speaking through the fourth wall) to get Sieg to recognize the concept of a "tsun de raix" and understand Liese better and try to save her.

** Kisara Nanjou is an aggressive ActionGirl who practices martial arts, enjoys humiliating her opponents, and one of her major {{Berserk Button}}s is being looked down as weak because she's a girl. Her ''dere'' side tends to [[CutenessProximity come out only]] [[KindheartedCatLover when in the presence of a cat]], and more rarely with her LoveInterest Ukita (and even he doesn't get spared from being beaten up by her when she gets mad).

* ''Manga/SamuraiDeeperKyo'': Kyo is very heavy on the tsuntsun. Hoo boy. He regularly calls his LoveInterest ''dog-face'' and ''Servant #1'', and has a really obnoxious habit of randomly feeling her up, no matter who happens to be watching. But the few moments in which he shows that he cares about her and the way he fights when she's in danger are surprisingly genuine and heartwarming, especially near the end of the manga.

* ''Manga/AngelDensetsu'': Ryoko is always sweet to her LoveInterest Kitano and pretty nice to normal people, but has a fiery temper when provoked by challengers and people who annoy her.

** Another possible "matured" Tsundere is Princess Ayeka. She attempts to put on a dignified personality, but is certainly suppressing violent tendencies (even in the OVA, where she has a much sweeter personality). The trigger for her adoption of her dere personality? The loss of her LoveInterest [[BrotherSisterIncest and half-brother]], Yosho. Of course, she targets her violence out on to her rival rather then her LoveInterest.

* ''Manga/The100GirlfriendsWhoReallyReallyReallyReallyReallyLoveYou'': Karane, Kurumi, and Mai fall under this trope.
** Karane is the typical harsh, constantly lying about her feelings type (although she has a better control over her emotions than most tsunderes).

* Threefold in ''Akkun to Kanojo''.

* In ''Manga/BlueExorcist'', Izumo Kamiki would definitely qualify.

* In the manga "''Flag Capture in the First Move''", one of the four-page chapters has a tsundere mockingly ask if her classmate will be alone for the holidays. He then responds that he won't, which catches her off guard and she panics. Realizing she missed her shot, she then wishes him luck and hopes he'll be happy. He then proclaims he is actually talking about her. She bursts into tears and hugs him, demanding he not let her be bored while she cries into his chest.

** Back in the tales of Ala Rubra, Princess Arika was ''very'' tsun-tsun towards Nagi, Negi's father. She slapped him at the slightest sign of disrespect towards her and when [[spoiler:Nagi told her he loved her]], the best she could say about her feelings for him was she "did not dislike (him)."

*** {{Deconstructed|Trope}} with Asuka Langley Soryu in the Anime. She mostly pretends to be gentle around most people, but her anger, haughtiness, and combative attitude come out full force around Shinji. She does have some feelings for him, but neither of them are open people and are ''very'' bad at communicating their true feelings. Instead of becoming closer over time, which would allow Asuka to show her ''dere'' side, she only gets more and more frustrated with Shinji's passivity, taking it as a sign that he isn't interested in her, and this causes her harsh treatment of him to get ''worse'' the more time they spend together.
*** It's more played straight in the Manga, where Asuka is shown to be capable of being genuinely nice to Shinji, albeit very brief and in rare moments.
*** ''Anime/RebuildOfEvangelion'''s Asuka Langley ''Shikinami'' on the other hand is a classic Harsh tsundere. She acts rough, sure, but later shows a genuinely sweet side when she attempts to cook for "''baka-''Shinji." And later [[spoiler:volunteers to pilot Unit 03 so that Rei can bring Shinji and his father closer together]]. She does this for ''Rei'', who in most incarnations she doesn't care for at all. This alone should clue you in that Asuka Shikinami has more in the way of dere-dere than any of her Soryu counterparts.
** Misato also acts this way towards her old flame, Kaji. In her case, it's mostly driven by the fact that she is still in love with him, but there were very good reasons that their previous relationship didn't work out, and most of those haven't changed. Kaji having a fondness for flirting with other women doesn't help either.

** Sunako is this towards [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Kyohei]]. At first, their relationship is rather rocky as she's completely turned off by how 'radiant' he is, to the point where she becomes distraught and has an urge to kill him. Eventually, the hostility she had towards him gradually fades as she starts to warm up to him in later chapters, though she still can't stand him at times, [[BelligerentSexualTension making it a love-hate relationship between the two]]. It is hinted many times throughout the manga that she developed feelings for him, but of course, [[ObliviousToLove doesn't realize this]] until the last chapter. [[MaybeEverAfter Maybe]].
** Kyohei is a male example of a Tsundere. He's rough and rude towards Sunako all the time. He obviously likes her, but the most he'll admit is that he likes her cooking.

* Princess Cagalli Yula Athha in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'' has definite Tsundere moments, mostly when around the male leads, although she seems to have grown out of it [[BreakTheHaughty (in a way)]] by ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny Gundam SEED Destiny]]''.

* ''Manga/BlueSeed'''s gun girl Koume Sawaguchi: the dere side only comes out in the final few episodes when she's alone with her LoveInterest.

* In ''Manga/TheDisastrousLifeOfSaikiK,'' it's done to the extreme by Saiki's ''grandfather,'' of all people. He acts cold, stern, indifferent, and even annoyed towards his family when they visit, then shows the audience how completely overjoyed he is just to have them nearby after he leaves the room, in a way that's obviously meant to parody your typical anime's young girl tsundere. It's (thankfully) completely non-romantic, but that doesn't stop him from squealing and blushing like a schoolgirl at simply brushing past his grandson.
** Much of his inner monologue is him trying to get himself to confess how he really feels to them, then getting angry at himself for failing to do so.

* ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'': Kyoko Sakura acts hostile towards Sayaka because she disapproves of her values, but she [[LesYay develops a soft spot for her]]. Made obvious in episode 7, when she tries to help Sayaka, only to go back to being angry and aloof when her advice is refused. And in episode 9, [[spoiler:she sacrifices herself to put witch!Sayaka out of her misery]].

* Moka Akashiya of ''Manga/RosarioPlusVampire'' is an interesting take on the concept; Inner Moka is very tsuntsun, but when she wears her [[PowerLimiter rosario]] she becomes the deredere Outer Moka. One of protagonist Tsukune's major hurdles is that, if he wants to date Moka, he has to convince her cold and proud inner personality that he's good enough for her.
** Technically Outer Moka takes no part in this, since she's separate personality. Inner Moka qualifies as tsundere quite fine on her own, though.

** Suiseseki likes Jun, but generally shows him her Tsun-tsun side. She is haughty, rude, and it takes one season for her to admit she even likes him. Her deredere side is only triggered when [[spoiler:Bara-suishou is well on her way to defeating her in Traumend and she finally asks him to be her medium during The Covenant episode. She is in complete denial until this point, even though she is previously seen looking up OTHER Sakuradas in the phone book trying to get them to be her medium]]. Suiseseki is the resident [[ThePrankster prankster]] of the bunch on top of that.

* ''Manga/StDragonGirl'': Momoka is normally a sweet girl but Ryuga's teasings always manages to draw out her violent side.

* ''Manga/TheWallflower'': Sunako is this towards [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Kyohei]]. At first, their relationship is rather rocky as she's completely turned off by how 'radiant' he is, to the point where she becomes distraught and has an urge to kill him. Eventually, the hostility she had towards him gradually fades as she starts to warm up to him in later chapters, though she still can't stand him at times, [[BelligerentSexualTension making it a love-hate relationship between the two]]. * ''Manga/YuunaAndTheHauntedHotSprings'': Sagiri starts out as a textbook example of a Harsh type, initally having a bad temper, being quick to jump to conclusions, and threatening Kogarashi whenever she thinks he's being a pervert. Once she realizes he's not a bad person like she initially thought, Sagiri's attitude towards Kogarashi softens considerably and she stops threatening him for AccidentalPervert moments.

** Ranma Saotome himself is a non-violent Harsh tsundere. He enjoys teasing and tormenting Akane, and often provokes fights with her through intentional insults as well as [[NoSocialSkills bluntly spoken unpleasant truths]]. However, his harassing Akane is presented as his clumsy way of expressing his attraction to her, akin to a little boy pulling a girl's pigtail because he likes her but doesn't know any better way to show it, and he can express surprisingly tender or romantic feelings on rare occasions.
** Whether or not Shampoo is this trope is something that fans hotly contest. For the most part, she treats Mousse with naked disdain, bluntly declaring that she hates him in one story and in another story being (initially) perfectly happy to let Mousse die. But she has done ''some'' nice things for him over the series, even if these are often immediately walked back. The biggest argument for is Shampoo beating up Mousse whilst under the effect of a cursed brooch that converts the wearer's love into hatred, with Cologne observing this and noting that it seemed like Shampoo didn't hate Mousse as much as before. The biggest argument against is that Shampoo is never even remotely tsundere towards Ranma -- or, at worst, she's a Sweet type tsundere, being openly affectionate and loving towards him, but also getting very mad when he rejects her feelings too firmly -- and that makes the idea that Shampoo treats Mousse badly because she can't handle liking him seem rather suspect.

* ''Manga/TheWallflower'':
** Kyohei is a male example of a Tsundere. He's rough and rude towards Sunako all the time. He obviously likes her, but the most he'll admit is that he likes her cooking.
** Despite being a CreepyLonerGirl, Sunako also shows traits of the trope. She's attracted to Kyohei, but because he's a "creature of the light" and she loves the darkness, she mistakes her feelings for him as abhorrence. Also, getting even a little physically close to Kyohei gives her near-fatal {{Nosebleed}}s.

** Chapter 144 introduces Karane's family, and ''each and every one of them'' is a tsundere. Karane's grandparents, her parents, her siblings, and her niece and nephew, the latter of whom is an infant, are all introduced in a two-page spread giving some variation of "It's not like we're glad to meet you or anything" upon meeting Rentarou.

* ''Manga/OnlyTheFlowerKnows'': Misaki starts out this way. He's very reserved, and frequently acts irritated towards Arikawa (understandably, after he embarrasses the poor boy in public by telling him that [[HomoeroticDream he loves him in his dreams]]). He gradually warms up to him, though, acting less irritable over time and getting [[CrushBlush flustered]] in his presence. By the time they [[spoiler:get together]], he's lost most of his ''tsun'', and mostly comes across as shy rather than standoffish.

* Akane Tendo is infamous for this trait, but actually switches ''between'' the Sweet and Harsh archetypes depending on who she's interacting with. When she's interacting with most people, she's polite, soft-spoken, forgiving and generally kindly, only exploding in her iconic fits of rage when truly provoked -- [[PervertRevengeMode usually due to a person acting like a pervert]]. When she's interacting with ''Ranma'', by comparison, she's far more aggressive and temperamental, defaulting to bickering, snarking, teasing and angry outbursts that can range from simply yelling at Ranma to hitting him with [[HyperspaceMallet a convenient random object]]. Only on rare occasions does she express her sweeter, gentler side in general, or her love for Ranma in particular.

** Akane Tendo displays accurate characteristics (hot tempered and violent, but sweet and caring when warmed up) and could be considered the template for all future tsundere archetypes. Akane started out as a Sweet tsundere in the manga but became Harsh as the manga went on (or was turned Harsh in the anime).
** Shampoo also acts somewhat like this towards Mousse. She usually treats him like crap and will easily say she hates him, but there are a few moments in that she shows at least some sympathy for him, particularly in the anime.
