I used to consider myself as "multifandom" as I grew up in a time where fan communities based around media were easily accessible (a relatively recent development), so I thought liking a work was synonymous to being in its fandom. But it's easy to get lost in the sea of ideas and content (and sustain some mental damage) even as a bystander; I was just floundering when it came to creatively making tributes to media. That's why I consider troping as my favourite way of paying tribute to the works I like instead. I prefer that I contribute to a presentable page that explains what the subject I enjoy is rather than pressure myself to make yet another piece to a growing pile. No hate to those that enjoy making fan-content though, crafting new ideas from existing media with collaborative efforts is very impressive - but that life just isn't for me.

I made my account in 2020 [[YouKnowThatShow to refind works that I only had vague memories of]], then I started exploring and got hooked to the site ever since. I realised that I really like troping because I can write about the media I treasure as they are. I see it as a way of both spreading the word and preserving knowledge of them. I found my bearings in the Forum Games, but I gradually phased into favoring the more formal left-side forums and editing the wiki. I like dabbling in a bit of everything; where I haven't been is probably where I intend to break ground someday, though at a casual rate. TLDR: I'm an [[JustForFun/TroperTypes Eclectic Troper]].

Some cleanup efforts (pages and threads) that I tend to visit more often than others. Wick cleaning in particular makes for quick light cleanup. (Sandbox/WikiMaintenance shortcut)

While some experience JustForFun/TVTropesAsAGatewayDrug, the site tends to have the opposite effect on me. Yes, there are some works I knew first from this site, but more often than not, being a contributor [[JustForFun/TVTropesWillRuinYourLife compels me to trope whatever media I happen to get invested in]], so it sometimes leads to me avoiding the source of compulsion entirely. Adulthood responsibilities also lead me to spend less time delving into media. I'm trying to restrict my usage of this site to when my tasks of the day are finished. Ideally, I do minor cleanup on weekdays and dig into bigger projects in the weekends, if time allows.

Hello there, I'm a fairly sporadic troper who made an account in August 2020 to make use of YouKnowThatShow, then gradually got accustomed to the site and hooked as a result. Most of my contributing goes towards local ({{Malaysian|Media}}) media and other (often obscure) works I'm a fan of. Other times, it's likely general cleanup. This page will always be undergoing reconstruction based on what I want to share. I ditched the self-troping a while back. Instead, I'd like to share advice from self-help/improvement books that I've read, summarised in my own words. And some quotes because why not.

I'm probably blind to these references, and prefer waiting until marriage, but why not say why I use some of these anyway:
* "Above such petty unnecessities": Used this way more back in the day just to put out there that I see no need for (pre-marital) relationships. Yeah it's due to how I was raised and I'd like to keep it that way.

Because a list of any work I like, even those I grew out of liking or only liked a little, make too long a list. Restricting it to favourites + those I had a personal history that I feel like sharing.

A majority of the media I watch tends to be animated. Whether I'm into it for the story or just getting a laugh out of it, I like them all just fine since they're meant for entertainment. Sorting by Asian, Others, and Western.

While I'm rather flexible to what sounds nice, my favourite noises range in rock, metal and electronic. A mix of one or more tends to be music to my ears too (such as IndustrialMetal and DarkWave).

Metal and rock have stuck as my first fave music genres for as long as I can remember. The powerful beats of drums and guitar riffs have lifted my spirits and carried me through fictional battles in my mind time and time again. A lot of my favourite songs are from these genres, my most favourite song ever being [[https://youtu.be/q-RgSIH7E58 Masih Di Sini]] by the Malaysian rock group [[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunkface Bunkface]], which is the official song for ''Animation/BoBoiBoy The Movie''.

There was a time when NerdCore occupied the majority of the music I listened to, as fanmade songs paying tribute to games and other media I like are fun to watch and are often of remarkable quality. I enjoyed songs about games as much as I did watching {{Lets Play}}s of said games.  Such songs introduce me to other genres I now enjoy, such as {{Electroswing}} from ''VideoGame/BendyAndTheInkMachine'' fan songs. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Also, it is through other songs made by such artists that I've learned about other works and fandoms, as was my case for MLP: FIM. The pony music scene is vibrant and full of awesome tracks. I recommend these channels that particularly showcase brony music; [[https://youtube.com/c/CiderParty Cider Party]] (electronic focused), [[https://youtube.com/c/PoniesAtDawn Ponies At Dawn]] (multiple genres) and [[https://youtube.com/c/DrumscapeLibrary Drumscape Library]] (DrumAndBass focused).

It was from Cider Party that I learned of electronic music subgenres, but DarkWave stuck out to me most, [[https://youtu.be/dGzafol6iuE in this track]]. I came across [[https://youtu.be/cRklP346Gcs this playlist video]] in which I enjoyed almost every song and realised the style struck a chord in me. It's a perfect blend of guitar, bass and electronic melodies with a nicely dark touch - it's basically my everything music. There's enough energy to go around while being less distracting, yet it's still nice to get lost in while being lowkey and calm. It's my personal choice of background music over rock/metal, which energise me but also distract me from my tasks. I may enjoy post-punk as a whole, but I'm sparing (as usual) in what I watch, I'm not a fan of the cult or demonic imagery in general, which sometimes pops up in music videos, not just post-punk.

There's still the few favourites which don't necessarily fit the above lists, sometimes I do enjoy music that isn't intense like rock nor gloomy like post-punk. Here's some on the miscellaneous list:
* Music/OwlCity: "Fireflies" [[TearJerker genuinely makes me tear up sometimes]]. My other personal favourites of his include "To The Sky", "When Can I See You Again?" and "Shooting Star".

I'd consider myself a casual gamer. As in "mostly plays browser games" type of gamer, and mobile ones on occasion. I seldom spend to play, and often watch gameplays for games I'm uninclined or can't get to play myself.

* ''VideoGame/FoodFantasy'': That one gacha game I downloaded for the heck of it because the ad interested me. After having stopped playing for a few years, I'm finally back as of early 2022. My IUD is 2694078 as [=BlackFaithStar17=]. Feel free to add me as a friend there!
* ''VideoGame/JunesJourney'': Got a substantial amount of progress (into maybe the 3rd arc which involved Talbot's son?) before that phone got lost, RIP.
* ''VideoGame/HenryStickminSeries'': While I forget how I first found them, many gameplays involving reactions to the hilarious ways to fail would remind me to play them, up until "Completing the Mission" since Flash's support was ceased before I could attempt it.
* ''VideoGame/JustShapesAndBeats'': Watching 8-Bit Ryan's gameplays of it was my highlight of 2019. A year or two later,  I found its demo on my cousin's Switch and vibed through the tutorial levels. That is all.
* ''VideoGame/TheLastDoor'': I've only played the first act of four games though. Perhaps its pixel artstyle put me at ease despite it being a horror game, but it did give a few jumps at the right moments.
* ''VideoGame/RobotUnicornAttackHeavyMetalEdition'': Because I like equines and heavy metal. The grand juxtaposition of my interests. That's it really xD.

* ''VideoGame/BendyAndTheInkMachine'': Intrigued me very much back in the day, it's still pretty awesome.

My "3 Characters That Best Represent Me" list is flexible, it takes a bunch of factors for a character to "fit" me. Currently, they're all ''My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic'' characters for some reason lmao.

** Bad experiences with past friendships led to problematic mentalities and hindered us from giving our all at making new friends, for a while at least. [[labelnote:Expanded explanation]]I felt that natural differences between people lead to them being better friends with others than me. I tended to get lost from them talking about things I've no knowledge of and feel even more LockedOutOfTheLoop from inside-jokes and experiences I never got to share. Instead of trying to get to know them better, however, I considered trying to maintain them a fruitless cause because I'd frequently change schools anyway, and we'd naturally fade from each others' lives. My envisionment of ideal friends were those who were exactly like me (which fed my affinity towards making [[LiteralSplitPersonality imaginary personifications of my aspects]], but that led me to romanticising the EnemyWithin, unfortunately). This is pretty similar to Starlight's disdain with natural differences between individuals taking loved ones away from her, although I wouldn't forcefully take away the individuality of others to make them equal.[[/labelnote]]
** Unlike her, I accepted that people would be different and leave (so I believe), but similarly to her, I became TheResenter of those with happy connections that I couldn't understand. I'm grateful that both of us have put the dark past behind.

Additionally, the 3rd pillar of Islam, known as ''siyam'' or ''sawm'', literally means "abstain" (and Islamically, it refers to abstaining from sins + some other things which are usually halal (such as eating, drinking, etc.) in the daylight hours of the month of Ramadhan.) I think this is a nice status to have up during Ramadhan.
%%* "All is for my lord": Unsure of the context of this one, but I can attest that my search for that someone would be as grounded as possible. And as that one Islamic meme I read goes, "you can't be single if you have a relationship with Allah." xD
%%* "Brony": Dunno how this works as a relationship status, so I use it whenever I decide to get back in the mood of being a fan of MLP:FIM again.
%%* "Getting away with murder": It's incredibly unlikely that I'm being literal when I use this, but it's in a similar vein to my usage of "Married To My Murderer", just not necessarily with swooning over one.

ItSeemedLikeAGoodIdeaAtTheTime to me, but exploring dark mentalities is more mentally draining than rewarding.
