** Bad experiences with past friendships led to problematic mentalities and hindered us from giving our all at making new friends, for a while at least.

I tended to get lost from them talking about things I've no knowledge of and feel even more LockedOutOfTheLoop from inside-jokes and experiences I never got to share. Instead of trying to get to know them better, however, I considered trying to maintain them a fruitless cause because I'd frequently change schools anyway, and we'd naturally fade from each others' lives. My envisionment of ideal friends were those who were exactly like me (which fed my affinity towards making [[LiteralSplitPersonality imaginary personifications of my aspects]], but that led me to romanticising the EnemyWithin, unfortunately). This is pretty similar to Starlight's disdain with natural differences between individuals taking loved ones away from her, although I wouldn't forcefully take away the individuality of others to make them equal.[[/labelnote]]

Hello there, I'm just another troper who happened upon this site and made an account sometime in August 2020 to make use of YouKnowThatShow, then gradually got accustomed to the site and hooked as a result.

A fair amount of my contributing goes towards local ({{Malaysian|Media}}) works and other obscure works I'm a fan of, including books, which I intend to make work pages for. I like dabbling in general cleanup too, and may lurk or be found in the left-side (work) forums and the right-side (casual fun) forums. As I enter my later years, my activity here may get increasingly sporadic, but I won't bite off more than I can chew, hopefully.

My sandbox may have a list of my other sandboxes, usually of which are WIP work pages. If you happen to be familiar with the work I'm making a page on, feel free to edit it to completion if you wish - just let me know when you launch it :).

Formerly, I had a list of tropes describing myself here, but I'm depreciating the list for a couple of reasons. Tropes are primarily patterns found in fiction, and they can change with time such as via TRS. Other reasons include trying to be more impersonal online and to avoid coming off as advocating for "controversial" views. What was here before is now worked into a few paragraphs instead.

First and most importantly, I am a [[UsefulNotes/{{Islam}} Muslim]], and Islam is more than a religion, it's a way of life. Thus I may have views which differ from a large portion of the site, such as [[TheTeetotaler never intending to drink alcohol ever]] among other things, some of which may be too NRLEP to pothole. Despite that [[BrutalHonesty I lean towards being blunt]], however, I likely won't bring up such views of mine unless I'm asked and to respond civilly in all matters. I do not intend to bring any agenda to this site.

I'm [[UsefulNotes/{{Malaysia}} Malaysian]] and, if my affinity towards academics, the mind and local media is anything to go off by, I [[AsianAndNerdy also may be a nerd]]. Speaking of the mind, my favourite themes in media lean towards internal conflict or, in its lighter sense, interactions of different facets of the self (or {{Alternate Sel|f}}ves, as a close second). My likeness to such themes probably started from my first favorite show, ''Animation/BoBoiBoy'', as the hero can [[LiteralSplitPersonality split into personifications of his powers that are often depicted to be different aspects of his psyche]], that work together to save the day. [[labelnote:Summarised expansion of where it got dark]] It would gradually evolve into [[NightmareFetishist interest of the darker depths of the mind]], especially after I first watched ''Film/Venom2018'' in cinemas. In hindsight, I regret the time that I may have took the romanticism of inner turmoil too far to the point of it taking a toll on my own mental health, although other factors were involved. I'm grateful that a change of environment would restore my faith, and I try [[EvilIsNotAToy not to toy with the idea of insanity as much anymore]].[[/labelnote]]

Of the few personality tests I've taken, I am said to be an [[UsefulNotes/MyersBriggs INTP]] and a [[FourTemperamentEnsemble phlegmatic-melancholic]]. This may be why a [[BrilliantButLazy fair amount of my bright ideas rarely see the light]], among other things. However, while these tests do help me understand myself better, I do not look at these labels for how to live my life. I do know that I can adapt to another, hopefully improved mindset with enough effort. Back to my personality, however, I tend to be [[SafetyInIndifference emotionally distant from most worldly affairs]] (even friendships), but [[NotSoStoic despite my lack of external emotion, I can be easygoing]].

As for interests besides troping, I wish to read and write more again. Drawing is also a fun pastime, when I have an idea to draw.

!!Favourite works (WIP)
Because a list of any work I like, even those I grew out of liking or only liked a little, make too long a list. Restricting it to favourites/those I had a personal history with for the sake of conciseness. Literature and other types of works may be added later.

A majority of the media I watch tends to be animated. Whether I'm into it for the story or just getting a laugh out of it, I like them all just fine since they're meant for entertainment. Sorting by Asian, Western and Others (if I have any).

* '''''Film/Venom2018''''': I remember my hype to see this manifesting since I saw its trailer before ''Film/AntmanAndTheWasp'' at the cinema. Come its October 2018 release, Venom remains as one of my favourite cinematic experiences ever [[note]](with some thanks to Dolby Atmos making it all the more immersive, I could hear Venom's voice from all around ''and inside me''. [[NightmareFetishist And I learned that I enjoyed it.]] Oh lord.)[[/note]]. The ShoutOut to my home country may have buttered me up, but I enjoyed it for the concept of having a sentient and (mostly) helpful companion that lives like a voice in one's head, and the badassery Venom served with it made it all the better. Genre-wise, I'm rather flexible to what sounds nice, but my favourite noises range in rock, metal and electronic. A mix of one or more tends to be music to my ears too. Rarely do I seek to learn about musicians further than the art they make, similarly for most actors - I may have heard of some names or a few roles, but not their lives. Furthermore, I tend to have favourite songs from artists that I never/have yet to bother checking out their other songs.

There was a time when NerdCore occupied the majority of the music I listened to, as fanmade songs paying tribute to games and other media I like are fun to watch and are often of remarkable quality. I enjoyed songs about games as much as I did watching {{Lets Play}}s of said games.  Such songs introduce me to other genres I now enjoy, such as {{Electroswing}} from ''VideoGame/BendyAndTheInkMachine'' fan songs. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Furthermore, it is through other songs made by such artists that I may learn about other works and fandoms, as was my case for MLP: FIM. The pony music scene is really vibrant and full of awesome tracks. I recommend these channels which showcase brony music; [[https://youtube.com/c/CiderParty Cider Party]] (electronic music focused), [[https://youtube.com/c/PoniesAtDawn Ponies At Dawn]] (has WAY more music genres) and [[https://youtube.com/c/DrumscapeLibrary Drumscape Library]] (Drum and Bass focused).

It was from Cider Party that I learned of electronic music subgenres, but DarkWave stuck out to me most, [[https://youtu.be/dGzafol6iuE in this track]]. I'd come across [[https://youtu.be/cRklP346Gcs this playlist video]] in which I enjoyed almost every song and realised the genre style struck a chord in me. It's the perfect blend of guitar, bass and electronic melodies with a touch of the darkness - it's basically my everything music. There's just enough energy to go around without getting distracted, yet it's still nice to get lost in while being lowkey and calm, making it my personal choice of background music over rock/metal, which energise me but also distract me more often from my tasks. I may enjoy post-punk as a whole, but I'm sparing (as usual) in what I watch, I'm not a fan of the {{cult}} or demonic imagery in general, which sometimes pops up in some music videos, not just post-punk.

Realistically speaking, my relationship status is: not set. TV Tropes has more creative terms, but mind that I am likely blind to whatever they're referencing. Only doing the ones I'm compelled enough to use for whatever reason.
* "Above such petty unnecessities": Has been (or is) my pick most of the time, especially since I see no need in getting into a (pre-marital) relationship. Then again, I need to watch myself when assuming this mentality should arrogance potentially come from it.
* "Abstaining": Another good one, also in [[TheTeetotaler another sense]]. Additionally, the 3rd pillar of Islam, known as ''siyam'' or ''sawm'', literally means "abstain" (and Islamically, it refers to abstaining from sins + some other things which are usually halal (such as eating, drinking, etc.) in the daylight hours of the month of Ramadhan.) I think this is a nice status to have up during Ramadhan.
* "All is for my lord": Unsure of the context of this one, but I can attest that my search for that someone would be as grounded as possible. And as that one Islamic meme I read goes, "you can't be single if you have a relationship with Allah." xD
* "Brony": Dunno how this works as a relationship status, so I use it whenever I decide to get back in the mood of being a fan of MLP:FIM again.
* "Getting away with murder": It's incredibly unlikely that I'm being literal when I use this, but it's in a similar vein to my usage of "Married To My Murderer", just not necessarily with swooning over one.
* "Hiding": Reasons may vary, maybe I'm just feeling more antisocial than usual or I am literally hiding from love. Hard to tell. :P
* "Married To My Murderer": A nod to my former Psycho[=/=]MonsterFangirl days (which I admittedly loop back to sometimes but to [[NightmareFetishist a lesser extent]]), which are both amusing and bitter to look back upon. ItSeemedLikeAGoodIdeaAtTheTime to me, but exploring dark mentalities is more mentally draining than rewarding. * AuthorAppeal: I remember my first solid draw towards some media being the theme of internal conflict (not necessarily as dark as EnemyWithin), and whatever could spin off of that. Exploring such themes seeped into my characters as a result.
* BlackComedy: Simply put, I may laugh at what shouldn't be laughed at sometimes.
* BrilliantButLazy: [[HumorMode As overused as this is]], I do try to subvert it by pushing my limits, gradually. I often find myself having fragments of great ideas which I could piece together, if I only had the perseverance or drive to make the time do so, though it is possible to instill in myself with enough motivation.

* HeteronormativeCrusader: Okay, it's NRLEP and probably not a fun trope to find on a user's page, and by the trope's standards I'd be a downplayed example anyway. Yet the brief and blunt answer is this: I don't support LGBT. The good news (for you) is that if I ever do advocate against the movement, it won't be on this site. I just avoid topics of such where it doesn't concern me, and I'll likely only say that I'm anti-LGBT/speak about LGBT at all if somebody asks. It's not that I hate those involved [[note]]([[StrawAngst that did not turn out well for me in the past]], and what good does hatred ever do anyway?)[[/note]], it's just that the majority of what LGBT stands for just doesn't fly with Islam. So I believe in delayed gratification (although implementing it is another story), as well as taking the time to decide by comparing an outcome's pros and cons, sometimes to the extent that it gets too late to carry it out anyway. It's fine, since it means it was for the best that it never happened if God willed it that way and I've done all I could. Such is the way of some hidden blessings. Metal and rock have stuck as my first fave genres for as long as I can remember. The powerful beats of drums and guitar riffs have lifted my spirits and carried me through fictional battles in my mind time and time again. A lot of my favourite songs are from these genres, my most favored song ever being [[https://youtu.be/q-RgSIH7E58 Masih Di Sini]] by the Malaysian rock group [[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunkface Bunkface]], which is the official song for ''Animation/BoBoiBoy The Movie''.

Hello there, I'm just another troper who happened upon this site and made an account sometime in August 2020 to make use of YouKnowThatShow, then gradually got accustomed to the site and hooked as a result. A fair amount of my contributing goes towards local ({{Malaysian|Media}}) works and anything related or in between, or general cleanup, with a few oddballs here and there.

%%My offline activities as a troper involve reading books from my room with a pencil in hand and making notes of where (possible) tropes are. Perpetually seeing tropes at use in a work is both a blessing and a curse, giving me new perspectives in story details, which makes for great reading and food for thought; while gradually fueling an addiction to this site. I've still yet to head back into doing wiki stuff but I intend to do so by late November.

An exercise in besting internal turmoil was the goal, and the idea to do so sparked the creation of beings inside oneself to fight. They changed with time, from allies to enemies to somewhere in between, though the extremities in particular came around in 2019 as a group of 3 personifications of mental constructs on a sliding scale of extremes, the third being an unhealthy mix of the other two mentalities. The mind that made them, too unstable to finalise their fractured story but unwilling to erase their progress, instead extracted them from their abstract setting to be revised.

* CastOfPersonifications: Although MotiveDecay and time downplayed their extremes over time, each "extremity" comprises of an ideological extreme. Fiq and Muna make each respective end on BlackAndWhiteMorality. "Faith" [---(name change pending to dissociate from persona)---] and Alias often display the respective sides of OrderVersusChaos. The Mediator, meant as the in-between person, represents neutrality [[spoiler:which can be an extremity in itself]].
* CloningSplitsAttributes: Being lookalikes comprised of contrasting ideologies surmises them to be parts of one and the same mind, but besides the splitting in mentalities is the division of their senses; the Mediator has her ears and nose which the other four do not, while those four have constantly have eyes and a mouth while the Mediator bears an EyelessFace and a sometimes absent mouth.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Hypocrisy was [[{{Invoked}} intended as the motif]] of the initial three, what with that being the hypothetical (and rather accurate) result of trying to embody two extremes at once. It's not a proud beginning to look back on, but the past remains unerased, as evident by Muna and Fiq keeping their names which were meant to invoke the motif [[{{Portmanteau}} when combined]].
* {{Portmanteau}}: "Munafiq," the combined name of Muna and Fiq, is the word for "{{hypocrite}}" in a few languages, including Malay, Indonesian and Arabic.

The most positive of the group as she is meant to embody the white side of BlackAndWhiteMorality. However, as an extremity, she was constructed to explore the idea that too much of anything, even happiness, can be bad.

Initially the middle-person for Muna and Fiq who became bent by not balancing their mentalities healthily, craving chaos instead.

The fourth who was added to sustain order in the group, even before being revised as an extremity of order itself. Faith was her former name as a creator stand-in until she was reconfigured as Alias' opposite.

* TheStoic: Invoked to be the least expressive of the group as a representative of neutrality.
* StoicSpectacles: The only one who wears eyewear and is the least expressive.
* TranquilFury: Invoked, each time she gets angry, her mouth disappears temporarily, restricting her to only talk through the other extremities, so she has to get creative with physically having her way.

Realistically speaking, my relationship status is: not set. TV Tropes has more creative terms, however, but mind that I am likely blind to whatever they're referencing. Only doing the ones I'm compelled enough to use for whatever reason.
* "Above such petty unnecessities": Has been (or is) my pick most of the time, especially since I see no need in getting into a (pre-marital) relationship. Then again, I need to watch myself when assuming this mentality should arrogance potentially come from it.
* "Abstaining": Another good one, also in [[TheTeetotaler another sense]]. Additionally, the 3rd pillar of Islam, known as ''siyam'' or ''sawm'', literally means "abstain" (and Islamically, it refers to abstaining from sins + some other things which are usually halal (such as eating, drinking, etc.) in the daylight hours of the month of Ramadhan.) I think this is a nice status to have up during Ramadhan.
* "All is for my lord": Unsure of the context of this one, but I can attest that my search for that someone would be as grounded as possible. And as that one Islamic meme I read goes, "you can't be single if you have a relationship with Allah." xD
* "Brony": Dunno how this works as a relationship status, so I use it whenever I decide to get back in the mood of being a fan of MLP:FIM again.

Many of my original characters are Author Avatars simply because of my Author Appeal towards interactions of different aspects of self. Additionally, the 3rd pillar of Islam, known as ''siyam'' or ''sawm'', literally means "abstain" (and Islamically, it refers to abstaining from sins + some other things which are usually halal (such as eating, drinking, etc.) in the daylight hours of the month of Ramadhan.) I think this is a nice status to have up during Ramadhan.

It's fine, since it means it was for the best that it never happened if God willed it that way and I've done all I could. Such is the way of some hidden blessings.

Frankly, I initially thought all OCs were self-inserts (then again, each character we make pertains some personal value in some form, don't they?) and rolled with it. Many of said OCs had unofficial alterations as I developed over the years, as I never officially documented the majority of them, just having then sit or float around in my head.

Hello there, I'm just another troper who happened upon this site and made an account sometime in August 2020 to make use of YouKnowThatShow, then gradually got accustomed to the site and hooked as a result. A fair amount of my contributing goes towards local (Malaysian) works and anything related or in between, or general cleanup, with a few oddballs here and there.

My offline activities as a troper involve reading books from my room with a pencil in hand and making notes of where (possible) tropes are. [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer No, seriously.]] Sometimes I've felt like doing likewise while watching a film that lacks a page. Perpetually seeing tropes at use in a work is both a blessing and a curse, giving me new perspectives in story details, which makes for great reading and food for thought; while gradually fueling an addiction to this site. I've still yet to head back into doing wiki stuff but I intend to do so by late November.

%%In terms of online troper activities, I tend to migrate between the different types of contributing that exist wherever I can, an Eclectic Troper habit which I appreciate for the flexibility. I also visit the forums a bunch; it started with Forum Games in November 2020, now I lean between both left-side forums for wiki contributing and the right-side forums of fun.

Genre-wise, I'm rather flexible to what sounds nice, but my favourite noises range in rock, metal and electronic. A mix of one or more tends to be music to my ears too. There was a time when NerdCore occupied the majority of the music I listened to.

For OCs and the like. Black Star here was initially the image atop the page but I have a different idea for what to place there. Many of my original characters are Author Avatars simply because of my Author Appeal towards interactions of different aspects of self. Frankly, I initially thought all OCs were self-inserts (then again, each character we make pertains some personal value in some form, don't they?) and rolled with it. Many of said OCs had unofficial alterations as I developed over the years, as I never officially documented the majority of them, just having then sit or float around in my head.

Realistically speaking, my relationship status is: not set. TV Tropes has more creative terms, however, but mind that I am likely blind to whatever they're referencing. Only doing those I've found a reason to use.

Hello there, I'm just another troper who happened upon this site and made an account sometime in August 2020 to make use of YouKnowThatShow, then gradually got accustomed to the site and hooked as a result. A fair amount of my contributing goes towards local (Malaysian) works and anything related or in between, or general cleanup, with a few oddballs here and there.

My offline activities as a troper involve reading books from my room with a pencil in hand and making notes of where (possible) tropes are. [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer No, seriously.]] Sometimes I've felt like doing likewise while watching a film that lacks a page. Perpetually seeing tropes at use in a work is both a blessing and a curse, giving me new perspectives in story details, which makes for great reading and food for thought; while gradually fueling an addiction to this site. I've still yet to head back into doing wiki stuff but I intend to do so by late November.

* HypeAversion: It often happens that I avoid what's popular as it seems overrated and I lack interest (either anyway or because of the popularity). FOMO usually has little effect on me.
** Sometimes I'll take the time to see a work after the hype surge dies down, or my varying circumstances have me see it later (eg. FNF, since I was busy at the time it peaked, but I was sidestepping anyway).
** Other times, I simply forget to finish an installment until everyone hypes its next release and I realise that I've lost interest, so I no longer bother (eg. Deltarune).

For OCs and the like. Black Star here was initially the image atop the page but I have a different idea for what to place there. Many of my original characters are Author Avatars simply because of my Author Appeal towards interactions of different aspects of self. Frankly, I initially thought all OCs were self-inserts (then again, each character we make pertains some personal value in some form, don't they?) and rolled with it. Many of said OCs had unofficial alterations as I developed over the years, as I never officially documented the majority of them, just having then sit or float around in my head.

Realistically speaking, my relationship status is: not set. TV Tropes has more creative terms, however, but mind that I am likely blind to whatever they're referencing. Only doing those I've found a reason to use.
* "Above such petty unnecessities": Has been (or is) my pick most of the time, especially since I see no need in getting into a [[note]](pre-marital)[[/note]] relationship. Then again, I need to watch myself when assuming this mentality should arrogance potentially come from it.
* "Abstaining": Another good one, also in [[TheTeetotaler another sense]]. Additionally, the 3rd pillar of Islam, known as ''siyam'' or ''sawm'', literally means "abstain" (and Islamically, it refers to abstaining from sins + some other things which are usually halal (such as eating, drinking, etc.) in the daylight hours of the month of Ramadhan.) I think this is a nice status to have up during Ramadhan.
* "All is for my lord": Unsure of the context of this one, but I can attest that my search for that someone would be as grounded as possible. And as that one Islamic meme I read goes, "you can't be single if you have a relationship with Allah." xD
* "Brony": Dunno how this works as a relationship status, so I use it whenever I decide to get back in the mood of being a fan of MLP:FIM again.
* "Married To My Murderer": Sounds like a weird one, huh? Unless said murderer is one considered as such by another who considers the killer "theirs", without them killing the other, maybe?\\
Actually, don't overthink this one. I like this status as a nod to my former Psycho[=/=]MonsterFangirl days, but mind you, it's not a mentality I'd encourage anyone else to take on.
