* MissingEpisode: His fifth Epic Records album never materialized due to a combination of CreatorBreakdown and failure of the lead single on the charts. According to an interview with Creator/{{CMT}}, the video for said lead single "Heather's Wall" was supposed to be part of a trilogy that would also include the songs "I'd Move Heaven and Earth for You" and "Stones". While the former song appeared on a GreatestHitsAlbum in 2002, "Stones" never materialized until a re-recording in 2011 (although Music/TracyLawrence recorded a version in 2004).

* OneHitWonder: Not Ty himself, obviously, but "Heart Half Empty" duet partner Stephanie Bentley is. However, she had more success as a songwriter.

* ChartDisplacement: Averted on Hot Country Songs, but played straight on the Hot 100. His only top-40 hit there is ''not'' "What Mattered Most", but rather "It Must Be Love".
* UncreditedRole: Sons of the Desert were not credited for their call-and-response vocals on "It Must Be Love", likely because they were involved in a label dispute at the time.
