* DevelopmentGag: Captain Haddock's presence [[TheUnReveal Un-Reveal]] at the end is a nod to the complex history of this album's creation. Long story short: Hergé started working on it ''before'' Haddock's creation, put it on hiatus during World War Two due to the story's sensitive content (part of it were originally set in British mandate Palestine), and resumed the album's writing once Haddock already existed. Haddock is unable to explain why he suddenly appeared during the climax because he literally didn't exist when the story started.
