** Robbie at one point in "G.B.H." drops the ball he's bouncing and Laura bringing their drinks then jumps to attention. Corey Patton actually did drop the door at the end of "Miss Lucy" ball and was improvised by their actors.trying to grab it again. As it was perfectly in character for Robbie, they used that take.

* ActorInspiredElement:
** Lindsay becoming an actress was inspired when Ellen Jones was cast - and the rant she gives at the start of "Romantic Evening" is based on a play she was actually in.
** Ingrid Igoe decided that Roisin would love wearing 90s fashion, such as the flannel shirt in "Skivvy".
** A figurine of {{Disney/Pocahontas}} is in many scenes with Laura because it is Rebecca Flynn's favorite Disney film.
* AwesomeDearBoy:
** Bobby Calloway wrote himself into the "Party Animals" sketch just so he could say the "nay I say" line.
** Rebecca Flynn's favorite line was the infamous florist rant in "GBH".
** A couple of the actresses have heard quips that were thought up in advance and asked to have their character say them. For example Kaireht Yovera really wanted to say the "broken record" line in "Nice to be Nice".
* {{Blooper}}: In "Miss Lucy", when Sadia walks into the kitchen there's a bra hanging from a cupboard door visible. When Lindsay closes the door, the bra is gone, only to reappear there when Nora arrives.
* {{Corpsing}}:
** When filming "Party Animals", Sandi Brown kept causing people to burst into giggles with her line "two fresh virgin sacrifices".
** Kaireht Yovera made the crew lose it when she did her introduction scene in "Miss Lucy".
* CreatorsFavorite: Bobby Calloway has said that Laura and Nora are his two favourite characters to write for.
* TheDanza: Darcy Elizabeth Mullen as Darcy Lou.
* DolledUpInstallment: "Party Animals" was written as a separate sketch, but got incorporated into this. In the original, it opened with the aftermath of the party, the two characters were male and the landlord was entirely an offscreen presence.
* FakeShemp: "Miss Lucy" has a scene where Lindsay introduces Pete to the house. Notice how Sadia never interacts with anyone beyond Lindsay shooting her a cold look after she walks in. Kaireht Yovera couldn't be on set until much later, so they shot around her and filmed the shot of her walking into the kitchen, quickly followed by Pete and Lindsay at the very end of the day to disguise it. She had two lines in the scene that were initially dubbed in but cut.
* FunnyCharacterBoringActor: Sadia is a troll who borders on CrazyAwesome. Kaireht Yovera is much more reserved and quiet out of character.
* HarpoDoesSomethingFunny: As the writing went on, some of the scripts had notes like "Rebecca will make it funny".
* IronyAsSheIsCast: Bobby Calloway is a teetotaller in real life, playing a destructive drinker like Marty.
* TheOtherDarrin: Ciaran Hemeryck played Robbie in 'Miss Lucy', and was replaced with Corey Patton for all other episodes.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** Rebecca Flynn was previously cast in GirlNextDoor roles or else the StraightMan in comedies. This was written purely to cast her in something closer to her own personality.
** Kaireht Yovera usually played serious roles beforehand.
* SerendipityWritesThePlot:
** The "Miss Lucy" RunningGag came about because of a joke between Bobby Calloway and Rebecca Flynn.
** "Skivvy" is shorter than most episodes because it was written as an entry for a one-minute film competition.
* ShrugOfGod: Who or what Miss Lucy is has never been confirmed. It was intentionally written to be inconsistent as to whether it was a person or not.
* ThrowItIn:
** The black and silver bra was brought to set by Ingrid Igoe a couple of times, and they made it a recurring set piece. For example, in "Miss Lucy" Lindsay was scripted to throw a bag at Roisin, and they changed it to accommodate the bra.
** Robbie and Laura bringing their drinks to the door at the end of "Miss Lucy" was improvised by their actors.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Lindsay's characterization was initially of a DumbBlonde who, while still the nicest of the girls, was a lot ditzier. When Ellen Jones was cast, the persona evolved accordingly.
** For a while Roisin was going to be an American student, which in turn would have made Marty an American too. A ThanksgivingEpisode was planned around this concept but it was dropped when Ingrid Igoe was cast.
** In the first episode written, Laura and Roisin were conceived as a HamAndDeadpanDuo (the script even states that Roisin is Laura's best friend). As writing went on, Ingrid Igoe and Kaireht Yovera's chemistry led to Roisin and Sadia becoming more of a double act, and this in turn led to Laura and Lindsay being paired together far more often.
** Bobby Calloway considered playing Robbie himself, but decided to cast someone else instead.
** Robbie's line to Laura in "Miss Lucy" after she says "I am with child" was going to be "now there's a case for Repeal the 8th"[[note]]Ireland at the time was campaigning to repeal its ban on abortion.[[/note]] but it was deemed too controversial.
