* WagTheDirector: Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, though sympathetic in her reasoning, has done this atleast twice in regard to her character's portrayal, Steffy Forrester. She has made it clear to Bradley that she did not want her character to be seeking the attention in a LoveTriangle, and instead want to ''the'' center of one. The second time was during a LoveTriangle between Steffy, Finn, and Liam, and her character was supposed to willingly cheat on Finnegan; JMW was not okay with this and instead had her character do it because she was impaired rather than willingly.

* WrittenInInfirmity: After Lindsey Godfrey (Caroline Spencer) survived an auto-pedestrian accident in February 2015, in which a car veered onto the sidewalk she was walking at near Olympic Boulevard and Granville Avenue in Los Angeles, briefly pinning her beneath it, her character Caroline was written out as having gone to New York City to visit her two mothers (her namesake of which, played by Joanna Johnson, died off-screen due to leukemia). The severe ankle injuries Godfrey suffered in the accident were incorporated into her character's plotline when Caroline returned to the canvas in April, the events of which correlate with the events of Godfrey's RealLife accident, with several subsequent episodes focusing on Ridge trying to help Caroline through her recovery.

* HostilityOnTheSet: Hunter Tylo (Taylor Hayes) and Kimberlin Brown (Sheila Carter) were once good friends (they and their husbands frequently hung out together, and are rumored to have even engaged in swinging) but had a falling out when Brown took Tylo's husband Michael's side when the two separated, openly supporting him in the ensuing divorce and custody battle. Things escalated to the point that each woman had a bodyguard with them on set, claiming that the other had threatened them. Possibly because of their issues, by the time their characters were both brought back in 2021, Brown was the only one of the two actress who returned as their character: rather than asking Tylo to return as Taylor, Creator/KristaAllen was cast instead.

* RetroactiveRecognition:
** Jack Wagner (Nick Marone, 2003–12) is most recognized for playing Dr. Peter Burns in ''Series/MelrosePlace'', though he had a long career in soaps before joining ''[=B&B=]'' (including his original StarMakingRole as Frisco Jones on ''Series/GeneralHospital''). Oddly enough, he worked with Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester, 1987 to 2012) on ''A New Day in Eden'', a short-lived Creator/{{Showtime}} soap that Flannery produced and which served as Wagner's debut role.
** Lorenzo Lamas (who played Hector Ramirez from 2004 to 2006) was already known to soap fans as Lance Cumson on ''Falcon Crest'' from 1981 to 1990. Others may recognize him as Reno Raines in ''Series/{{Renegade}}'', or for films like the ''Snake Eater'' martial arts film trilogy and ''Terminal Justice''.
** An obscure one, but Courtnee Draper played teenager Mary Warwick in 2002, coming off her role as Morgan Hudson on Disney Channel's ''The Jersey'' (though some of the remaining episodes of that show's third and final season were held over until 2004, ''after'' Draper's [=B&B=] run had ended).
** Patrick Duffy (who played Stephen Logan from 2006 to 2011) was already known for a prime time soap role, as J.R. Ewing in ''Series/{{Dallas}}'', or for his sitcom turn as Frank Lambert in ''Series/StepByStep''.
** Mario Lopez—[[Series/SavedByTheBell A.C. Slater, himself]]—briefly played Dr. Christian Ramirez in 2006. His former ''SBTB'' co-star Lark Voorhies—who played Lisa Turtle on that show—played Jasmine Malone from 1995 to 1996.
** Creator/BettyWhite played Stephanie and Pam's [[AbusiveParents abusive mother]] Ann Douglas intermittently between 2006 and 2009. Her legendary career basically speaks for itself, and anyone of a certain age might recognize her from something (whether it be ''Life with Elizabeth'', ''Series/TheMaryTylerMooreShow'', ''Series/TheGoldenGirls'', ''Series/HotInCleveland'' or her various game show appearances).
** Constantine Maroulis played Constantine, the manipulative record producer who tried to seduce Phoebe, for several months in 2007. ''Series/AmericanIdol'' fans may recognize him as a contestant on the singing competition's fourth season (the first season that contestants between 26 and 28, Maroulis being the latter age, could audition for the competition), making it all the way to the Top 6.
** Fred Willard played Ivy's father, John Forrester, from 2014 to 2015; the character was depicted as humorous in keeping with Willard's long career as a comedian and comic actor himself (notably in ''Film/WaitingForGuffman'', ''Film/BestInShow'', ''Film/AMightyWind'' and ''Film/ForYourConsideration'' and his television credits in ''Fernwood 2Night'' and its spinoffs, ''Series/{{Roseanne}}'' and ''Series/ModernFamily'').
** Denise Richards (who began playing Shauna Fulton in 2018) is best known for her roles in films such as ''Film/WildThings'', ''Film/StarshipTroopers'', ''Film/TheWorldIsNotEnough'', ''Film/DropDeadGorgeous'' and ''Film/UndercoverBrother'', just to name a few, as well as ''[[Series/TheRealHousewives The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills]]''.
** Katrina Bowden (who, incidentally, began playing Flo Fulton, Shauna's daughter, around the time Richards joined the show) is most known for her role as [[Creator/TinaFey Liz Lemon]]'s ditzy assistant Cerie Xerox in ''Series/ThirtyRock''.
