* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Alex Kurtzman was originally going to direct the pilot episode, but dropped out in order to direct ''Film/TheMummy2017'', with David Semel, who had worked with co-creator Creator/BryanFuller on ''Series/{{Heroes}}'' and ''Series/{{Hannibal}}'', being brought in to direct instead. Kurtzman would later no-so-subtly hint that he regretted not directing this episode, and instead directed the second season premiere.
