** Shipping inevitably came out of Tangle and Whisper's introductions, even with each other due to their close companionship. Ian himself later mentioned that, had it not been for ExecutiveMeddling and SEGA's "no romance" protocol on the comics, the two would've officially become a couple.

* Ever since his debut in 2004's ''Sonic Advance 3'' for the UsefulNotes/GameBoyAdvance, Gemerl [[OutOfFocus has been ignored in the franchise]], only appearing in this specific title. It wasn't until after his debut in issue 18 (2019) of ''IDW Sonic'' where he started to appear in official artwork alongside Cream the Rabbit in the franchise's social media and Sonic Channel.
