* DivorcedInstallment: Version 2 was confirmed to be on the receiving end of one though the re-branding to Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers, dropping the Videogame/SonicRoboBlast2 moniker altogether. ZigZagged however by the

* AuthorsSavingThrow: With the release of v2.1 of Ring Racers came some much-requested tweaks to the game, such as being able to skip out of the ForcedTutorial at any point (the race of which is easier), more passwords to further unlock content quicker, and allowing all tracks to be played online from the get-go instead of just those from the first seven cups.

These entries are not true at all and paints the devs in a negative and spiteful way.
First entry: SRB 2 Kart is a Sonic fangame, and the red spring panels simply were meant as a homage to the MK levels which the game draws inspiration to, even if they were retrofitted into vanilla levels. They don't exist in Ring Racers because RR is still trying to be a Sonic fangame, and doubling down on it - it's not trying to punish the community in any way.
Second entry: This was just a technical constraint in the engine, nothing to do with what any developer said. The reason it was 128 was because the developers couldn't test a higher limit at the time, and it increased when enough research was done for it to be safe.

** As shown by bonuschars.kart predecessor "misc.wad", Original Characters and Franchise/SuperMarioBros characters were fair game for bundled addons, as shown in Knockout the Echidna and Waluigi (albeit a certain version of the latter).
* WhyFandomCantHaveNiceThings:
** A downplayed, yet interesting game mechanic example. The Kart Krew loathes the over-usage of Red Spring Sectors used as a main mechanic in custom levelsThey were designed around the Super Mario Kart tracks to emulate their jump strips more accurately than the Sonic springs before they bled into other tracks, so much so that they were heavily re-tooled in Ring Racers to complement the game's new Trick system. Although map format restrictionsRed and Yellow Spring Sectors are considered sector types, all stored in a 16-bit number, meaning that there can only be so many sector types in the game before they run out of space, unlike map objects of which there can be many types without running out of room. were cited as a reason, their over-usage in custom levels was the deciding point, although they reassure the fandom that the new spring types used in Ring Racers will be as wacky and fun as Red Spring Sectors.
** The decision to make all the racers from "bonuschars.kart" built into the game without the need of being manually added and introduce new Sonic and SEGA racers in Ring Racers while keeping the Cap of total available racers that may be loaded at a time to 128 was enforced to make the game a more proper Sonic title and greatly downplay the MassiveMultiplayerCrossover aspect most custom servers adopted in mid to late 2019. Subverted by version 1.6, which lifted the player and WAD limits to 255, with little reason not to expect the new limits to stay for Ring Racers.
