Adding a wick.

** In addition, allegations were made of mistreatment of staff members and volunteers by Lusk, including but not limited to using abusive language, deliberately refusing to communicate with his writers, and then attempting to shift the blame towards them when they pointed out his misconduct. Lusk subsequently [[RoleEndingMisdemeanor resigned from his position as director]], and the game appeared to be doomed.

** Thankfully, the game's development significantly improved after Lusk was forced out. The new directors allowed the writers to return back to their roles, successful auditions for voice actors were held, more in-depth trailers began being released, and eventually, in December 2022, the game's prologue was released for free on itch.io. Said prologue garnered a surprisingly high amount of attention and acclaim by big-name ''Danganronpa'' content creators, sparking hope about ''Project: Eden's Garden'''s future.

Getting rid of as much Word Cruft as I could.

* TroubledProduction: Although ''Project: Eden's Garden'' ultimately managed to receive a positive reception once it made its debut, it surely took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get there:
** The problems started even before it entered development - creator Sean "Obelusk" Lusk initially conceived it as a live action series, only for the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic to break out while in planning stages. It was thus ultimately decided, thankfully early enough to avoid major setbacks, to retool it as a visual novel instead.
** Although the game rapidly drew hype for both its ambitious scope and almost official-looking artstyle, there were still signs that something was going wrong behind the scenes. Trailers were oddly scarce on gameplay footage, and most advertisement consisted of a social media account posting the character bios, then being deleted before repeating the process on another account, leading to skepticism about the game's development.

After doing some research about events surrounding the visual novel, I've come to the conclusion that it does meet the criteria for Troubled Production.

** Not helping matters was monetized promotional streams implying that the game would be commercially sold, which could've caused Creator/SpikeChunsoft to hit the team with a lawsuit. This led to a Discord server dedicated to the similar ''Danganronpa'' fan project ''WebVideo/DanganronpaRebirth'' banning all discussion of ''Project: Eden's Garden'', only relenting once it was proven that the game would be released for free.
** Then, in October 2021, the bottom finally fell out once [[https://twitter.com/SozzayDR/status/1444799534932979715 all four head writers publicly quit]]. They subsequently published a joint statement through a Google Doc containing in-depth accusations and evidence of Lusk rewriting the entire plot several times without warning the team, thus cutting into valuable development time, alongside mishandling sensitive themes such as mental illness.
