The most diplomatic thing that can be said about him choosing to take a major singing part in this musical film is that Creator/MinnieDriver had to ''intentionally'' sing badly.

* PromotedFangirl: Creator/MerylStreep was a fan of the stage show after seeing it on Broadway in September 2001, when she found the show to be an affirmation of life in the midst of the destruction of 9/11.

* TheCoverChangesTheGender: [=ABBA's=] ''"Does Your Mother Know"'' was originally sung by the men in the group. For the film, it was sung by Christine Baranski.

He dashes down the escalators and through the porte-cochere, where yellow cabs and actors representing New York mounted police were used for authenticity.

* CastingGag: An unintentional one: Pierce Brosnan also played Film/JamesBond in ''Film/GoldenEye'', during which he remarked that Creator/MinnieDriver's character was singing very badly ('who's strangling the cat?').
