* RefittedForSequel: In a way that also works as a RecycledScript, Creator/MamoruOshii (yes, [[Anime/GhostInTheShell THAT]] Oshii) provided the story for episode 10 involving Lupin and Fujiko stealing what they assumed to be a fossil of an archaeopteryx. This was previously one of his suggested story ideas for what would become ''Anime/LegendOfTheGoldOfBabylon'', where Lupin would have been tasked with stealing the fossil of an angel from within a rebuilt Tower of Babel in the heart of Tokyo, itself repurposed in both his own ''Anime/AngelsEgg'' and ''Anime/{{Patlabor}}: The Movie''.

* IKnewIt: Pretty much a number of peopled guessed that [[spoiler: Lestrade was a Raven member]] since he was the only one that kind of stood out in the supporting cast in the first arc, making him way too obvious. Especially considering how fast [[spoiler: Lily gets targeted later on which could only happen if someone close knew about her whereabouts.]]

* NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent: None of the English characters sound British in the dub, even those from Franchise/SherlockHolmes canon.

* ChannelHop: In the US, Creator/DiscotekMedia were the ones in charge of Parts IV and V, as well as bringing Parts I-III and all the various movies and specials over after [[Creator/NBCUniversalEntertainmentJapan Geneon]]'s collapse. However, Creator/SentaiFilmworks obtained the rights to this series instead, though the dub cast remains the same.
