** Kairi voiced by Hayden Panettierre is a borderline example. She'd had a few roles but it was right before her recognizable ones in ''Film/IcePrincess'', ''Film/RaisingHelen'' or ''{{Series/Heroes}}''.

** Kathryn Beaumont, who voiced Alice and Wendy in their respective films back in the 50s, returned to do both roles despite being in her mid-sixties (she's also one of only a few actors/actresses who worked with Creator/WaltDisney directly to be involved with the ''Kingdom Hearts'' games as well; John Fiedler, who voiced Piglet, did the role in the games as well until his death).
** Jodi Benson at age 31 once again voiced the 16-year-old Ariel.

* TheOtherDarrin: Several Disney characters from older films had different voice actors, due to their original actors being deceased. Tress [=McNeille=] replaces Verna Felton as the Queen of Hearts. Susanne Blakeslee replaces Eleanor Audley as Maleficent. Corey Burton instead of Joseph Kearns as the Doorknob, and Hans Conried as Captain Hook. Christopher Steele instead of Bobby Driscoll as Peter Pan etc.

** Due to the characters being much younger than their canon counterparts, Tidus and Wakka have different voice actors. Tidus is now voiced by Sean Fleming instead of James Arnold Taylor, while Wakka is voiced by Creator/DeeBradleyBaker instead of Creato/JohnDiMaggio

** [[Franchise/FinalFantasy Bahamut]] was going to be featured as a [[SummonMagic summon]].

Castellaneta had previously voiced the character for ''Disney/AladdinTheReturnOfJafar'' and ''WesternAnimation/AladdinTheSeries'' following the ignition of the original feud between Disney and Williams (this claimed Jeffrey Katzenberg's career at Disney because he wound up starting the feud by allowing ''Aladdin's'' marketing team to violate a contract with Williams; after he left, Williams returned to the Genie for the rest of the decade).
** Kevin Michael Richardson replaces Samuel E Wright as the voice of Sebastian, the only time the character has been voiced by someone other than Wright.
** Tidus and Wakka have different voice actors, due to the characters appearing as preteens. Amusingly enough Tidus's original voice actor - James Arnold Taylor - appears in ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'' as the voice of Jack Sparrow. And Tidus doesn't appear in that game.

* NoExportForYou: ''[[LimitedSpecialCollectorsUltimateEdition Final Mix]]'' initially wasn't released outside Japan due to concerns that Americans don't like buying the same game with only a few extras added (which isn't entirely an unjustified concerned), particularly bad because it actually added some pretty vital plot information that set up the sequel. In 2013 it was released internationally as part of the first HD collection for PS3.
