** Josh isn't particularly amused by some of his old techniques and habits for putting what's on his lists. Especially the practice of putting [[VideoGame/NoMoreHeroes2DesperateStruggle Jasper Batt Jr.]] in lists revolving around 'hated characters', 'bad/disappointing villains', or 'annoying boss fights', as within his community, it became so overdone and missed the point that he was really designed to be that way to deliver the message of 'revenge is not that satisfying'. At the very least, Josh still acknowledges the intended annoyance; [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqFlLktseQc Jasper Batt Jr. only made it to the Dishonorable Mentions of the Top Ten Worst Video Game Villains in 2023.]]

* {{Blooper}}: Josh states in [[https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Aad2DOSYy-Q this short]] that him accidently refering Shadow as "Edgehog" before correcting himself in "Top 10 Rivalries" was not improvised. It really was just a slip of the tongue.

Only applies to/goes under the work the error is made about, not the work causing it.

* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzFAGFgvwS4&ab_channel=joshscorcher "Top Ten Liked Characters We're Supposed to Hate"]], Josh makes the claim that Caim from ''{{VideoGame/Drakengard}}'' exists to criticize the player by painting them as a psychopath for killing hundreds at a time, and that he fails in this because 1: Caim is a soldier in a war and is only doing what he needs to do, and 2: the infamous [[HarmfulToMinors child conscript massacre]] falls flat because they just act like any other enemy. However, this argument comes apart when one considers that ''this is not at all Caim's purpose as a character''; the entire purpose behind Drakengard's cast was because Yoko Taro at the time believed you would have to be a lunatic to kill as many people as you do in a typical round of ''VideoGame/DynastyWarriors'' (a belief he only shook after the twin towers fell and the War on Terror began), and thus made Caim and his allies a group of broken people with skewed moral compasses at best and nonexistent ones at worst. Caim is not necessarily meant to be liked or hated; simply condemned.

* WhyFandomCantHaveNiceThings: Because of most of his fanbase's tendency to harass the people he made response videos to, Josh decided to stop doing response videos altogether.
** With one final exception vis-a-vis the falling out he had with Creator/LilyOrchard, and even then he only did so at '''great''' reluctance.

* WhyFandomCantHaveNiceThings: Josh, during his early days, made three response videos to fellow [=YouTubers=] in which he criticized their arguments they displayed in a video. Because of most of his fanbase's tendency to harass the people he made response videos to, to- including ''death threats''- Josh decided to stop doing response videos altogether.

Past tense because Lily no longer works with Josh or goes by bhaalspawn.

** Lily, a.k.a. Bhaalspawn, gets a lot of opportunities to sing when she collabs with Josh for the "Over a Barrel" review.

Added a bit of a segment. It's a long one but there's a lot to cover there. If someone's able to make it more concise while retaining the point of the addition, I'd appreciate it.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Josh was among the seventy-five critics TGWTG ''nearly'' picked up in the 2014 Talent Search. In hindsight, him not being picked up might have been a blessing since he ended up avoiding all the drama, scandals and mismanagement around TGWTG at April 2018.

* OneOfUs: In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn4w1SXQP2c this video]], when he gets on the topic of his fanbase, he brings up his [=TVTropes=] page and namechecks the WhyFandomCantHaveNiceThings trope, while the screen shows his YMMV page, focusing on the FanDumb section. In another review, he invoked RedOniBlueOni, even explaining what the trope meant.
** And in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEKjDMh-wuA the second part]] he mentions how he's labelled an {{Expy}} of the Nostalgia Critic, admitting that he did steal jokes but is trying hard to shy away from that.
** And in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJZW9B67nbE Shenanigans With 6]], [[Wiki/TVTropes his page]] is referenced several times.
** Also, according to his Twitter, he regularly checks this site whenever he releases a new video.
