* PreOrderBonus: The preorder DLC (which includes several agumon with unique costumes, and the only way to get Vice Cherubimon and Beelzebumon Blast Mode) were never released post-launch in the West for the original version, and thus those digimon were never attainable for anyone who did not preorder the Western UsefulNotes/PlayStation4 or Vita versions. The costumed Agumon were notable because they were not added into the complete edition. As such they are the only digimon who are truly unobtainable if you did not preorder the original game. Thankfully they did not add anything significant to the game as you could not evolve them without losing their costumes and their stats will make them useless quickly, [[BraggingRightsReward so they are mainly there for collectors.]]

* RunningTheAsylum: A good number of people on Media Vision's staff are Digimon fans, and thus tended to implement their own ideas on how Digimon models would move and be presented (also leading to a large amount of influence from the anime, despite the game being disconnected in universe).

* UpdatedRerelease: The Complete Edition does this for this game, adding in the DLC Digimon that were previously pre-order only for certain regions, as well as many features that were introduced in Hacker's Memory (all the extra Digimon, the 'tutorial' windows are also mostly taken from Hacker's Memory, using the first level of Function Call now displays the 'siren' graphic over your head so you know when it's still active, etc. ).

* InvisibleAdvertising: The advertising for the PC version of the Complete Edition was minimal at best. There were no preorders, no trailers, no advertisements and no Steam page right up until release. In fact, the release slipped under the radar for a fair bit of people that were already trying to keep track of it. No one knew when it was gonna release until it was already out.
* MarthDebutedInSmashBros: As this is the first Digimon game to be localized since 2008, this is Mirei and Rina's first official appearance in the West, rather than [[VideoGame/DigimonWorldReDigitize their game of origin]]. When factoring in DLC, Sayo would also be making her debut in Europe since [[VideoGame/DigimonWorldDawnDusk the DS games]] never got released over there.
* NoDubForYou: The English-language version uses the Japanese voices. This is widely believed to be Bandai Namco not attributing a budget for one, due to uncertainty over how well the game would sell. A trailer exists with Kyoko doing narration in English, although it specifically makes sure to note that it doesn't apply to the actual game (as it was made after the announcement of the lack of a dub).
* NoExportForYou: The [=PS4=] version was solely made for international audiences and wasn't available for Japanese players until 2017 as it was released together with its sequel, ''Hacker's Memory''.
* RegionalBonus: The international versions added a hard mode and a NewGamePlus, which were eventually patched into the Japanese version as well. The US and EU also were given preorder/first-month bonus DLC in the form of Cherubimon Vice and Beelzemon Blast Mode. The pre-order bonus is still available in form of the European digital edition.
* RoleReprise:
** Agumon and Gabumon are complete expies of their ''[[Anime/DigimonAdventure Adventure]]'' counterparts, thus they and subsequentially Omegamon/Omnimon are voiced by Creator/ChikaSakamoto and Creator/MayumiYamaguchi.
** Creator/TetsuInada voices Gankoomon again.

would not have an English track.

** The most notable case is Yusei Oda who "replaces" Creator/MasakoNozawa, the latter having voiced three different and consecutive incarnations of Dukemon. Dukemon/Gallantmon's "screachy voice" description doesn't fit in line with Oda's performance, but it fits perfectly to Nozawa who isn't in the game.

* TheOtherDarrin: Almost all of the Royal Knights have gotten new {{Seiyuu}}s in this installment, which is justified, as several incarnations of the Royal Knights or members of their species had been voice by different seiyuus before.
