** Looker washes ashore onto Hoenn's Battle Resort with no memory of who he is or what has happened.

* Poké Ball technology is created, starting with Apricots from Johto, which is eventually refined with the help of the Devon Corporation in Hoenn, Silph Co. in Kanto and others.

* The events of Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon

* In the Kitakami region, a wanderer from a distant land and his Pokémon Ogerpon live in a lonely cave to avoid the fear and prejudice of the nearby Mossui village. When a trio of greedy Pokémon attack the wanderer to steal a set of precious masks in his possession, Ogerpon chases them down to the village and kills them in rage. The villagers misinterpret Ogerpon's actions as an attack and chase it away, then build a shrine to the "Loyal Three" Pokémon who gave their lives to protect them.

* A meteorite containing the dormant Legendary Pokémon Eternatus crashes into the Galar region.

* Humans begin domesticating Gogoat and use them as a mode of transportation.

* The war of 3,000 years ago in Kalos. Having lost his precious Pokémon Floette in the war, the Kalos king known only as AZ creates an ultimate weapon that first revives Floette, then is turned on the rest of the world to destroy everything. Floette leaves AZ out of sorrow for his actions, and AZ spends the next three millennia wandering Kalos in search of it.
* In the aftermath of AZ's Ultimate Weapon being fired, Mega Evolution is triggered in select Pokémon species throughout the Kalos region. In at least one alternate universe, the Kanto and Hoenn regions also develops the Mega Evolution phenomenon.

* The Darkest Day occurs in Galar when the Legendary Pokémon Eternatus awakens and triggers the Dynamax phenomenon, causing Pokémon to grow to immense sizes and destroy everything in their path. It is defeated by the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta, assisted by twin brothers as their Trainers. The brothers go on to rule Galar as its kings and are (erroneously) named the region's heroes.
* Ancient humans worship the Mythical Pokémon Melmetal for its ability to create metal from nothing.

* A pair of twin brothers found the Unova region with the help of a powerful Dragon Pokémon. The twin heroes eventually come into conflict over what idealogy should define Unova; truth or ideals. The Dragon splits into the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram and Zekrom to side with each brother. The heroes nearly destroy Unova in their conflict and the Dragons go into hiding to end the war.

* The Paldean Empire rules Paldea with a cruel and power-hungry hand. Not satisfied with just the conquest of the region, the Emperor sends expeditions into the Great Crater upon hearing rumors of an incredible treasure hidden deep within. None of the expeditions ever return, and the Emperor's obsession continues to drive his empire into financial ruin.
* The world is bathed in a large amount of natural energy. This awakens the Legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre, who proceed to fight over this energy and wreak havoc upon the Hoenn region. A series of meteor showers strike Hoenn, bringing the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza down to quell their fight. In the aftermath, the Draconid people start to hail Rayquaza as their savior.

* The earliest form of written language is discovered within the Tanoby Ruins. The hieroglyphs contained within match those found in other regons and heavily resemble the various forms of Unown. It's unclear whether the hieroglyphs were inspired by the Pokémon, or if Unown came after their creation.

[[AC:1,000 Years Ago before Starting Point]]
* The Paldean Empire collapses, no longer able to sustain itself due to the Emperor's wasteful expeditions.
* A meteorite strikes Hoenn, creating the future site of Sootopolis City. Groudon and Kyogre reawaken and proceed to fight once more. The Draconid people pray for Rayquaza to save them, their wishes enabling it to Mega Evolve for the first time. Mega Rayquaza stops Groudon and Kyogre, and the Draconid people construct the Sky Tower in its honor.

* Remnants of the Paldean Empire unifies with the rest of the region. A scholastic academy is built in Mesagoza.

* The Guardian Deities of Alola fight Solgaleo and Lunala.

* Magearna is created by a scientist as a gift for his king's daughter.

[[AC:200 Years Ago before Starting Point]]
* The Area Zero Expedition is launched to unlock the mysteries of the Great Crater of Paldea. The expedition discovers and cultivates Herba Mystica plants through Paldea, though this is abandoned when wild Pokémon eat them and grow to dangerous sizes, and ultimately travels into the deepest parts of the Great Crater but is never seen again. Only one member of the expedition, a historian named Heath, returns and writes a book about his discoveries, which is publicly denounced as fake and labels the expedition team as frauds.

* The Terastal phenomenon first appears in Paldea.

[[AC:100 Years Ago before Starting Point]]
* Settlers from around the world come to the Hisui region, which in the future is renamed to Sinnoh. Jubilife Village is built and the Galaxy Team is established to survey the land and its Pokémon.

[[AC:87 Years Ago before Starting Point]]
* A research facility is built within Area Zero.

* Poké Ball technology is created, starting with Apricots from Johto, which is eventually refined with the help of the Devon Corporation in Hoenn, the Poké Ball Factory in Kalos, Silph Co. in Kanto and others.

* The head professor of the Area Zero research lab discovers a link between the Terastal phenomenon and the crystals growing within the Great Crater, leading to the invention of Tera Orbs to control this new power.

** The Sevii Islands branch of Team Rocket initially does not know of Giovanni's disappearance until Red appears and breaks into their Pokémon storage warehouse. Upon learning this, the Rocket member in charge swears that he will keep Team Rocket going until Giovanni returns.
* The events of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire

** Maxie of Team Magma and Archie of Team Aqua battle the player character and each other as they declare their intent to reshape the world. Maxie seeks to capture the Legendary Pokémon Groudon to expand the landmass, while Archie desires the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre to expand the oceans. Their plans backfire when the Pokémon go out of their control. After the player character prevents Hoenn's destruction, Maxie and Archie apologize and vanish.
** In an alternate universe, AZ's Ultimate Weapon was fired upon Hoenn during the war 3,000 years ago and Mega Evolution became commonplace in the region as a result. As the conflict between Team Magma and Team Aqua takes place, a mysterious girl named Zinnia gets involved so she can summon Rayquaza and stop an impending meteor strike from destroying the planet. Zinnia mentions the possibility of a universe where the war with Kalos never happened and Hoenn never learned of Mega Evolution, suggesting that this universe and that of the original events in Hoenn may run parallel to each other.

* The Cipher organization terrorizes the Orre region with dangerous Shadow Pokémon capable of attacking humans and other Pokémon indiscriminately. An ex-criminal named Wes and a young girl named Rui team up to recapture and purify the Shadow Pokémon, then force Cipher into disbanding by defeating their top leaders.

* Anabel, a Frontier Brain from the Hoenn Battle Frontier, falls into an Ultra Wormhole and ends up in Alola, with no recollection of her past life. It's implied that something happened in an alternate universe's Hoenn that caused her to fall between universes.

* The events of [=HeartGold/SoulSilver=]

** Team Rocket gets involved in various criminal activities across Johto in hopes of encouraging Giovanni to return and lead them again. They are defeated and forced to disband once more.

* The events of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

** Team Galactic launches a campaign to reshape time and/or space to the desires of their boss Cyrus, who seeks to create a universe without emotion or spirit. Their plans are foiled by the young Trainers and Sinnoh's regional Champion Cynthia. Cyrus vanishes, leaving the remaining members of Team Galactic to fend without him.

* Cipher returns to the Orre region with new personnel and a stronger army of Shadow Pokémon, culminating with the "unpurifiable" [=XD001=] a.k.a. Shadow Lugia. A Trainer named Michael takes up arms against Cipher by purifying the Shadow Pokémon and ultimately saving Lugia. Cipher is once more defeated and disbanded for good.

* The events of Black and White

[[AC:More than 7 years from starting point - Gen VI Era]]
* The Fairy-type is discovered in Kalos.
* Gladion flees the Aether Foundation, a Pokémon preservation group, stealing one of the three Type: Null they had created. His goals are to prevent his mother Lusamine's obsession with Ultra Beasts from harming the Alola region and to develop a bond with his new partner so it can break free of its control mask.
* The events of Black/White 2

** The Pokémon World Tournament is held in Unova. Gym Leaders and Champions from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova, including Red and Blue attend. Giovanni is also among the competitors.
* The events of X/Y
** Lysandre, the boss of Team Flare, deems the current world as unworthy to continue existing and uses the power of AZ's Ultimate Weapon to destroy everything save for his followers in Team Flare. He is stopped by the player character and the weapon is destroyed.
** Having been drawn into Lysandre's schemes, AZ realizes the errors of his past and seeks forgiveness. His Floette returns to him at long last in recognition of his liberated heart.


[[AC:More than 9 years from starting point - Gen VII Era]]
* The events of Sun/Moon and [=UltraSun/UltraMoon=]
** A new Trainer from Kanto moves to Alola and takes on the Island Challenge. In the process, they are drawn into the secretive plans of the Aether Foundation and their ties to Ultra Space, a strange dimension populated by the dangerous Ultra Beasts.
** In an alternate version of these events, Necrozma comes to Alola but is driven back to Ultra Space rather then staying. The Ultra Recon Squad seeks the Aether Foundation's help in stopping Necrozma from draining all the light from Alola.
*** Giovanni also returns as the boss of Team Rainbow Rocket, a new Team Rocket supported by alternate-universe versions of Teams Magma, Aqua, Galactic, Flare, and Plasma who had succeeded in their plans. With aid from the disgruntled Aether scientist Faba, Team Rainbow Rocket takes over Aether Paradise and turns it into their new base of operations. The player character defeats each of the bosses and they are sent back to their own universes, then does battle with Giovanni and triumphs. Aether Paradise is restored to normal afterwards and Faba is punished for his betrayal. Giovanni vanishes, wondering to himself which timeline he'll conquer next.
** In both versions of this adventure, the player character becomes the first Champion of Alola's newly-established Pokémon League and later encounters Red and Blue, now adults.

[[AC:Sometime after Gen VII Era - Gen VIII Era]]
* Classified data on Type: Null is stolen from the Aether Foundation. At least one new Type: Null surfaces in Galar as a result.
* The events of Sword/Shield
** Galar begins its Champion Cup, hosted by the undefeated Champion Leon and Chairman Rose of the Macro Cosmos conglomerate. Among the competitors are Leon's younger brother Hop and his best friend (the player character) from the town of Postwick.
** Rose awakens the Legendary Pokémon Eternatus and causes a repeat of the Darkest Day in order to prevent a future energy crisis. Eternatus is again stopped by the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta, who are assisted by Hop and the player character (the latter capturing Eternatus). Faced with his error in judgment, Rose turns himself over to the authorities.
** The player character defeats Leon and becomes the new Champion of Galar.
** Twin brothers Sordward and Shieldbert, supposed descendants of the twin kings of Galar, attempt to denounce Zacian and Zamazenta as the heroes from legend and cause an outbreak of rampaging Dynamax Pokémon through Galar. Hop and the player character prove the brothers wrong and they are made to apologize.

[[AC:Current Point in Timeline - Gen IX Era]]
* The events of Scarlet/Violet
** A new student (the player character) enrolls in Paldea's esteemed academy. While approaching the academy, a large Legendary Pokémon crashes on the beach nearby. After being given a sandwich, this Pokémon travels with the student.
** Over the course of the school year, the student competes in Paldea's gyms, assists in the discovery of the Herba Mystica, and deals with a group of delinquent students dubbed Team Star.
** Accompanied by three close friends made during the journey, the student and the Legendary Pokémon sneak into Area Zero against the academy's rules and discover Paradox Pokémon, creatures that resemble familiar Pokémon but with an unnatural viciousness that makes them incredibly dangerous.
** The students reach the Area Zero lab and discover that all the human personnel have long since perished. The lab's artificial intelligence has been forced to continue operating in the head professor's place, and it has calculated that the Paradox Pokémon will escape Area Zero and destroy Paldea if the source of the Paradox Pokémon, a time machine built by the head professor before their death, is not shut down. As the A.I. lacks the authority to do so itself, it helps the students and their Legendary Pokémon fight through the time machine's multiple failsafes and ultimately save Paldea.

[[AC:Starting Point of Timeline -- Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee]]
* History is the same as Timeline #2, but starts to diverge a little before the beginning, where Red, Green/Blue and probably Blue/Green begin their Pokémon training careers and go on their journeys through Kanto without encountering Team Rocket. The starting point proper begins with the player character receiving a Pikachu or Eevee from Professor Oak and progresses through the game as normal, Team Rocket included.
** During the events of Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, the player character meets a younger version of Mina, a Pokémon Trainer from Alola. Meaning that the game takes place at most 3 or 4 years before Sun & Moon/Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Necessitating a possible new timeline.

* Two boys, canonically named Red and Blue, leave Pallet Town and events of Red/Blue/Yellow occur. Eventually, Red defeats Blue to become Champion of Kanto.

* The Kanto region champion Red retreats to Mt Silver to train in solitude, leaving Lance to act as Champion in his place. Furthermore, Lorelei and Agatha leave at this time. Their vacancies are filled by Karen, Will, and Koga.

* A boy (or possibly a girl in Crystal version) leaves New Bark Town in the Johto and Kanto Regions Gold/Silver/Crystal. He/She eventually encounters Red and battles him on Mt.Silver. Red then leaves for parts unknown.

This Gyarados is the subject of a T.V newscast in Sinnoh, which prompted two children to go search of something similar at Lake Verity, kickstarting their careers as Pokémon Trainers. These trainers would eventually save Sinnoh from Team Galactic.
** Cyrus, using Team Galactic, tries to recreate the universe, but without emotion or spirit. After he fails, he remains in the Distortion World, a dimension created by Giratina.

[[AC:5 years from starting point - Gen III Era]]
* The Events of XD happen. Cipher disbands permanently.

* The events of Black and White happen.
** N, the leader of Team Plasma, summons a Legendary Dragon and commands the people of the Unova region to release their Pokémon. Shortly afterwards, he defeats the Unova Elite Four and Champion, before being defeated by a hero chosen by the other Legendary Dragon of Unova. He then learns that the Sage Ghetsis was using N and Team Plasma as a way to steal away all Pokémon from Unova's Trainers so that nothing and nobody could oppose him. With Ghetsis defeated, N disappears along with his Legendary Dragon.

* The events of X/Y and Black/White 2 occur.

While, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, don't mention previous game events, but instead show evidence of going to happen in the future. Since you could send Pokemon from Hoenn to Hoenn of the same time period, without causing Paradoxes, and since the franchise is Soft-SciFi, if SciFi at all, an alternate universe makes the most sense.

* Anabel, a Frontier Brain from the Hoenn of Universe A, somehow passes through an Ultra Wormhole and ends up in the Alola of Universe B, with no recollection of her past life.

** Giovanni returns as the boss of Team Rainbow Rocket, a new Team Rocket supported by alternate-universe versions of Teams Magma, Aqua, Galactic, Flare, and Plasma who had succeeded in their plans. With aid from the disgruntled Aether scientist Faba, Team Rainbow Rocket takes over Aether Paradise and turns it into their new base of operations. The player character defeats each of the bosses and they are sent back to their own universes, then does battle with Giovanni and triumphs. Aether Paradise is restored to normal afterwards and Faba is punished for his betrayal. Giovanni vanishes, wondering to himself which timeline he'll conquer next.

** The students reach the Area Zero lab and discover that all the human personnel have long since perished. The lab's artificial intelligence has been forced to continue operating in the head professor's place, and it has calculated that the Paradox Pokémon will escape Area Zero and destroy Paldea if the lab is not shut down. As the A.I. lacks the authority to do so itself, it helps the students and their Legendary Pokémon fight through the lab's multiple failsafes and ultimately save Paldea.

* The Area Zero Expedition is launched. The expedition cultivates Herba Mystica plants through Paldea, though this is abandoned when wild Pokémon eat them and grow to dangerous sizes, and ultimately travels into the Great Crater itself but is never seen again. Only one member of the expedition, a historian named Heath, returns and writes a book about his discoveries, which is publicly denounced as fake and labels the expedition team as frauds.

** Accompanied by three close friends made during the journey, the student and the Legendary Pokémon sneak into Area Zero against the academy's rules and discover Paradox Pokémon, creatures that resemble familiar Pokémon but with a wild viciousness that makes them incredibly dangerous.
