The heroes nearly destroy Unova in their conflict and the Dragons go into hiding to end the war.

Maxie seeks to capture the Legendary Pokémon Groudon to expand the landmass, while Archie desires the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre to expand the oceans. Their plans backfire when the Pokémon go out of their control. After the player character prevents Hoenn's destruction, Maxie and Archie apologize.

95** Dwelling in a small cave above Tohjo Falls, Giovanni hears of Team Rocket's efforts to call out to him and considers returning to his followers. He is defeated by a time-travelling Trainer and concludes that the time is not right, and so he vanishes once more.
96* The events of ''Diamond/Pearl/Platinum''
97** Inspired by a television report, two children in the Sinnoh region go search for a Legendary Pokémon at a nearby lake, kickstarting their careers as Pokémon Trainers. One of the Trainers ultimately becomes the new Pokémon League Champion.
98** Team Galactic launches a campaign to reshape time and/or space to the desires of their boss Cyrus, who seeks to create a universe without emotion or spirit. Their plans are foiled by the young Trainers and Cyrus vanishes, leaving the remaining members of Team Galactic to fend without him.

101* The events of ''Black/White''
102** In the Unova region, three young friends receive their first Pokémon from Prof. Juniper and set off on journeys to find their own goals in life. Their paths cross multiple times, culminating at the Unova Pokémon League.
103** N, the leader of Team Plasma, summons a Legendary Dragon and commands the people of Unova to release their Pokémon. Shortly afterwards, he defeats the Unova Elite Four and Champion before being defeated by a hero chosen by the other Legendary Dragon of Unova. He then learns that the Sage Ghetsis was using N and Team Plasma as a way to steal away all Pokémon from Unova's Trainers so that nothing and nobody could oppose him. With Ghetsis defeated, N disappears along with his Legendary Dragon.

Floette leaves AZ out of sorrow for his actions, and AZ spends the next three millennia wandering Kalos in search of it.
141* In the aftermath of AZ's Ultimate Weapon being fired, Mega Evolution is triggered in select Pokémon species throughout the Kalos region. The Kanto, Hoenn, and Alola regions also develops the Mega Evolution phenomenon over time.
142* The Abyssal Ruins of Unova are built during this era.
143* The Darkest Day occurs in Galar when the Legendary Pokémon Eternatus awakens and triggers the Dynamax phenomenon, causing Pokémon to grow to immense sizes and destroy everything in their path. It is defeated by the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta, assisted by twin brothers as their Trainers. The brothers go on to rule Galar as its kings and are (erroneously) named the region's heroes.
144* Ancient humans worship the Mythical Pokémon Melmetal for its ability to create metal from nothing.

151* The world is bathed in a large amount of natural energy. This awakens the Legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre, who proceed to fight over this energy and wreak havoc upon the Hoenn region. A series of meteor showers also strike Hoenn, bringing the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza down to quell the chaos. In the aftermath, the Draconid people start to hail Rayquaza as their savior.

Only one member of the expedition, a historian named Heath, returns and writes a book about his discoveries, which is publicly denounced as fake and labels the expedition team as frauds.

176** An rift in time and space opens above Mt. Coronet and spreads distortions through Hisui, resulting in Pokémon, objects, and even people from the future appearing inexplicably. One such person, a Pokémon Trainer, is found by the settlers and taken to Jubilife Village. In exchange for food and shelter, the Trainer is recruited into the Galaxy Expedition Team and assigned the task to survey and study the Pokémon living in Hisui.
177** The space-time rift also affects the Noble Pokémon protecting Hisui and drives them into violent rampages. With aid from the indiginous Diamond and Pearl Clans of Hisui and the merchant Volo, the Trainer is able to calm the frenzied Noble Pokémon and locate the source of the problem: the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia, who have been driven into similar frenzies.
178** Volo later reveals that the events in Hisui were all his doing. He had made a pact with the banished Pokémon Giratina to send Dialga and Palkia into their reality-warping rampage and summon Arceus, which he desires to capture so he can command its power to reshape the entire universe. The Trainer defeats Giratina, and Volo swears he will capture Arceus no matter how long it takes him before vanishing.

192* Lusamine and her husband Mohn discover the Ultra Wormhole, only to be attacked by the dangerous Ultra Beasts that dwell beyond it. Mohn vanishes in the wormhole and is presumed dead, and Lusamine's personality begins to change for the worse.

197** During their journey, the two Trainers battle the criminal organization Team Rocket and one of them defeats their boss and Gym Leader Giovanni. She claims that she is of the Draconid people and has been orchestrating the Magma/Aqua conflict to create a crisis that will summon Rayquaza, and the Key Stones are to give it the power to stop an impending meteoroid strike from destroying the planet. With help from the player character, Rayquaza Mega Evolves and destroys the meteoroid, which is revealed to be controlled by the virus Pokémon Deoxys. Zinnia also mentions the existence of a universe where the war in Kalos never happened and Mega Evolution was never discovered, suggesting possible knowledge of Timeline #2 and other parallel universes.
203** Looker, an agent of the International Police, washes ashore onto Hoenn's Battle Resort with no memory of who he is or what has happened.

221* Mohn returns from the Ultra Wormhole and washes up on a desolate island in the Alola region. With no memory of his past or his family, he turns the island into a Pokémon sanctuary named the Poké Pelago.
222* The events of ''X/Y''
223** A new Trainer befriends four local kids in the Kalos region and receives a Pokémon. Together, they set out across Kalos to find and fulfill their own dreams in the world.
224** Lysandre, the boss of Team Flare, deems the current world as unworthy to continue existing and uses the power of AZ's Ultimate Weapon to destroy everything save for his followers. He is stopped by the player character and the weapon is destroyed.
225** Having been drawn into Lysandre's schemes, AZ realizes the errors of his past and seeks forgiveness. His Floette returns to him at long last in recognition of his liberated heart.
226** Looker sets up a detective agency in Lumiose City and meets the orphan Emma, who becomes a key figure in a series of unusual Pokémon thefts orchestrated by the ex-Team Flare scientist Xerosic. Looker later leaves the agency to Emma as he departs Kalos for his next assignment.

In the process, they are drawn into the secretive plans of the Aether Foundation's President Lusamine and her ties to Ultra Space, a strange dimension populated by the dangerous Ultra Beasts.
232*** Looker returns to Alola with Anabel, now a special agent in the International Police, to locate and capture Ultra Beasts who have gotten loose onto the islands due to Aether's activities. Worried that Anabel's past dimensional fall from 10 years ago will make her a target for the Ultra Beasts, Looker asks the player character to provide assistance for her protection. Once all the Ultra Beasts are confirmed to no longer be threats, the two are granted paid leave.
233** In an alternate version of these events, Lusamine is contacted by members of the Ultra Recon Squad, representatives of a civilization living in Ultra Space who survive by the light of the Legendary Pokémon Necrozma. They seek her help to prevent Necrozma from going out of control and endangering Alola, but Lusamine is unable to stand her ground and the player successfully defeats Necrozma in her place.
234*** Giovanni also returns as the boss of Team Rainbow Rocket, a new Team Rocket supported by alternate-universe versions of Teams Magma, Aqua, Galactic, Flare, and Plasma who had succeeded in their plans. With aid from the disgruntled Aether scientist Faba, Team Rainbow Rocket takes over Aether Paradise and turns it into their new base of operations. The player character defeats each of the bosses and they are sent back to their own universes, then does battle with Giovanni and triumphs. Aether Paradise is restored to normal afterwards and Faba is punished for his betrayal. Giovanni vanishes, wondering to himself which timeline he'll conquer next.
235** In both versions of this adventure, the player character becomes the first Champion of Alola's newly-established Pokémon League and later encounters Red and Blue, now adults.

242** Rose awakens the Legendary Pokémon Eternatus and causes a repeat of the Darkest Day in order to prevent a future energy crisis. Eternatus is again stopped by the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta, who are assisted by Hop and the player character (the latter capturing Eternatus). Faced with his error in judgment, Rose turns himself over to the authorities.
243** The player character defeats Leon and becomes the new Champion of Galar.
244** Twin brothers Sordward and Shieldbert, supposed descendants of the twin kings of Galar, attempt to denounce Zacian and Zamazenta as the heroes from legend and cause an outbreak of rampaging Dynamax Pokémon through Galar. Hop and the player character prove to the brothers who history's true heroes are and they are made to apologize.

248** A new student (the player character) enrolls in Paldea's esteemed academy. While approaching the academy, a large Legendary Pokémon crashes on the beach nearby. After being given a sandwich, this Pokémon travels with the student.
249** Over the course of the school year, the student competes in Paldea's gyms, assists in the discovery of the Herba Mystica, and deals with a group of delinquent students dubbed Team Star.
250** Accompanied by three close friends made during the journey, the student and the Legendary Pokémon sneak into Area Zero against the academy's rules and discover Paradox Pokémon, creatures that resemble familiar Pokémon but bear an unnatural viciousness that makes them incredibly dangerous.
251** The students reach the Area Zero lab and discover that all the human personnel have long since perished. The lab's artificial intelligence has been forced to continue operating in the head professor's place, and it has calculated that the Paradox Pokémon will escape Area Zero and destroy Paldea if the source of the problem, a time machine built by the head professor before their death, is not shut down. As the A.I. lacks the authority to do so itself, it helps the students and their Legendary Pokémon fight through the time machine's multiple failsafes and ultimately save Paldea.

255* Giovanni's mother, the previous boss of Team Rocket, sends her top agent to the mountains to locate Mew. She does not come back and her daughter Jessie is left orphaned.

257* Growing up alone, Jessie crosses paths several times with James, a young boy who had run away from his rich family to avoid getting forced into marriage. They eventually join Team Rocket along with Meowth, a stray Pokémon who taught himself to talk in a failed effort to impress a female Meowth.
258* Giovanni funds an expedition to locate Mew. A single piece of its hair is brought back and used to create Mewtwo. Mewtwo destroys the labratory in rage, but this only impresses Giovanni and he convinces the Pokémon to serve him.

260* On his tenth birthday, Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town receives his first Pokémon from Professor Oak, a Pikachu. Despite a rocky start, Ash and Pikachu quickly become inseparable friends as they begin their journey for Ash to become a Pokémon Master.
261* Ash meets the Gym Leaders Brock and Misty, who become his traveling companions, and also defeats the Team Rocket members Jessie, James, and Meowth for the first of what would be many, many times.
262* No longer willing to accept Giovanni or humans in general as his master, Mewtwo breaks loose and attempts to destroy the world so he can rule over a world of cloned Pokémon like him. Ash and Mew convince Mewtwo to be glad for the gift of life regardless of his origin and he leaves peacefully.
263* Ash earns badges from the eight Gym Leaders of Kanto (including Brock and Misty) and competes in the Indigo Plateau Conference. He finishes in the top 16.

265* Ash, Misty, and Brock journey to the Orange Islands to meet with Professor Ivy and bring back an unusual Poké Ball dubbed the GS Ball. Brock becomes smitten with Ivy and chooses to stay behind as her new assistant.
266* Ash and Misty befriend Pokémon Watcher Tracey Sketchit and a lost Lapras, both of whom become guides through the Orange Islands as Ash competes in the Orange League.
267* The Orange Islands are thrown into chaos when Pokémon collector Lawrence III attempts to capture the Legendary Pokémon Lugia. Ash is thrust into an ancient prophecy in which he is destined to save Lugia and restore the balance.
