In the vein of Orpheus and Eurydice, Jasper, a teen with a troubled life, journeys to the underworld of Deadland to rescue his best friend, Agnes. Deadland features a mashup of creatures and characters from many mythologies, and while Jasper encounters many dangers on his quest to rescue Agnes, in particular the sinister Mr. Lethe, the greatest obstacle both he and Agnes face is themselves.
