* While the Grineer are now a empire that seeks to kill or enslave all non-Grineer denizens of the system, their backstory really manages to make us shed a tear or two. The Grineer in the past used to be part of a slave caste made up by clones that were created by the Orokin, being severely abused by their golden rulers, they were used as both work labour and foot soldiers. It was during the Old War that the Grineer were finally fed up with the Orokin and striked back, being led by the Twin Queens, a duo of Orokin twins that were shunned by their peers for the mere fact of being twins. All in all, the Grineer are a bitter family that suffered a lot.

* Parvos Granum himself has a very tearjerking story. Born in a family of farmers, he, his father and brother had to work endlessly in the field by collecting grains for the Orokin, the three kept working even if their hands were wounded or the sun were burning their backs. One day, tired of working everyday for an insultingly small amount of money, Parvos left to go to the city despite the pleas of his family, motivated by a mysterious voice. That same voice incites him to take the gems that was displayed in the gates, telling him that he is only taking what he was owed, but he got caught and ended losing his left hand, marking him as a thief. But he managed to steal one of the gems by swallowing it and throwing it back up later, even though the gem damaged his stomach in the process. He then took the gem to get a loan as a collateral and with that money, he used it to start a loaning service that would later become the Corpus, inventing new devices and services for the people. But even with all that money, he couldn't save his ill father, who died in the same house in the field. Parvos and his brother were devastated, but the death of his father motivated him to create on the field where they worked his new city, Corposium, where anyone was invited to use their genius to gain money. Everything seemed fine for Parvos who even got his own bodyguard, Protea, but the directors of the Board of Corpus, wanting money through means Parvos didn't approve of, tried to assasinate by making his ship be stranded in the Void, only surviving because Protea was able to use her time manipulating abilities to save him, turning her into a Specter in the process. With Parvos out of the picture, the Board of Directors slowly turned Corpus into a shell of itself. In short, the story of Parvos was the story of a man who wanted to be free from poverty, give everyone the chance to be their own masters, only to be betrayed by his own Board and being stuck in the Void for a long time. Until the Tenno showed up.
** His brother, Claudius had it incredibly bad, Parvos described his older brother as a DumbMuscle that could have helped each other, but due to what Parvos perceived as idleness, Claudius couldn't move on. The last time we see of him in the Tenets is him being chained and behind Parvos, simbolizing of how his idleness didn't let him move on.

* The story of the Cavia in Albrecht's lab is one tragedy after another. Albrecht had originally chosen all of them due to some unique quality to force The Indifference to appear, and when it did, it granted them all sentience just to to inform them they would all die soon. As you help the Cavia, it becomes quite clear that their Void exposure has left them with a terminal disease that Loid is desperately trying to cure, but they ultimately all die despite his best efforts. Although they do get better due to Void energy making them eternal, it is sobering watching these creatures go through all the stages of grief as they come to terms with their own inevitable deaths.

* The story of Ticker's Memory Fragments is a terrible tragedy. Ticker had a loved one that they cared about deeply, and that loved one ended up getting brain shelved. Ticker sold nearly all their body to pay back that debt and buy a body for that person, only to find that they didn't remember Ticker or almost anything at all about their former life. What worsens it is that before those events, they seemed to have a fairly rough dispute, and that was possibly the last time they interacted. It drives home how terrifying the idea of being in debt to the Corpus is.

But even with all that money, he couldn’t save his ill father, who died in the same house in the field. Parvos and his brother were devastated, but the death of his father motivated him to create on the field where they worked his new city, Corposium, where anyone was ainvited to use their genius to gain money. Everything seemed fine for Parvos who even got his own bodyguard, Protea, but the directors of the Board of Corpus, wanting money through means Parvos didn’t approve of, tried to assasinate by making his ship be stranded in the Void, only surviving because Protea was able to use her time manipulating abilities to save him, turning her into a Specter in the process. With Parvos out fo the picture, the Board of Directors slowly turned Corpus into a shell of itself. In short, the story of Parvos was the story of a man who wanted to be free from poverty, give everyone the chance to be their own masters, only to be betrayed by his own Board and being stuck in the Void for a long time. Until the Tenno showed up.

* Even thought Corpus is currently a war-profiteering, greedy corportion that has given nothing but grief to the Origin System and deserves to be eradicated, to think that the Corpus was originally built with the best intentions really is heart-breaking, seeing how what it was Parvos Granum’s big dream to free everyone he cared about from the slavery and poverty the Orokin made his people languish, only for his legacy turn into everything he hated the most. As Parvos himself says it:

*** Talk to Eudico after the New War quest, and she'll mention that she actually ''liked'' being under the Narmer Veil, not needing to think or worry about anything. Considering both of her jobs, one of which will spell disaster for her and her loved ones if found out, it's more understandable, but it really hurts to see such a powerful rebellious figure in Warframe lore completely give in because they don't see a point in fighting for the world they live in.

** And when the Drifter finally confronts Thrax in his throne room at the end of the quest, it's becomes clear just what they are. A void manifestation of the drifter's emotions as a child in the Zariman, taking the form of a toy the Drifter had. Sobbing as they take back the toy, it hammers in that Thrax is a snapshot of the Drifter (and Operator by extension) at their lowest moment.

** The final time you revisit the ''Zariman'' reveals the true nature of the Drifter -- they aren't a grown up Operator. They're an AlternateUniverse version of the Operator who not only never received their Void powers, but also ''was never rescued from the'' Zariman 10-0. The only reason they "escaped" now is because, since they and the Operator are the same person, they were sent out in the Operator's place to prevent a TemporalParadox. And given by how much they aged, they must have been stuck in the ''Zariman 10-0'' for ''years'', and are implied to have spent that entire time '''completely alone.'''

And it turns out, it did affect them. ''Boy'' did it affect them. So much so that the sheer amount of trauma, SurvivorsGuilt and loneliness pushed them far past the DespairEventHorizon that it gave birth to an entire ''pocket dimension'' within the Void, the Duviri Plains, and created Dominous Thrax, an entity who was essentially borne from a reflection of the Drifter at their lowest point.

** The fact that Thrax ''isn't'' some asshole Orokin who fucked off to their personal dimension to play with the Drifter like a toy, and is in fact a reflection of the ''Drifter themselves'', implied to have come about when the Drifter hit their HeroicBSOD on the ''Zariman'' and discarded their emotions ''just to survive'' makes it exceedingly more clear just what kind of messed-up situation the whole incident was. Thrax wasn't just trapping the Drifter in Duviri for the shits and giggles, but was more like a manifestation of the Drifter's own personality, desperately trying to hold onto the mind that discarded it while at the same time lashing out against the Drifter for being discarded.

* Collecting Ghoul fragments while out on the Plains of Eidolon provides a bit of backstory for the warframe Khora. It's a doubly heartwarming and tearjerking anecdote by Corpus scientist Sigor Savah. While collecting gene records of Orokin-era creatures, he happened upon "Specimen VK-7," an intact kavat preserved since the Orokin era. Savah, being a Corpus, had initially intended to offer a kavat like VK-7 to the Corpus elite for a large fortune. However, after VK-7 ''willed herself back to life,'' Savah had a change of heart away from he profit-driven Corpus doctrine. He and VK-7 formed a bond of trust, leading to VK-7 bringing the hand of her master, Khora, to Savah in hopes that he could find her. This eventually lead to the Corpus trying to capture VK-7. Savah defiantly held off Corpus hunters sent after her, ensuring her escape, but leading to his own arrest. As he's about to be executed, Savah was saved by VK-7, and the two attempted to escape from Venus, where Savah was assigned. In order for him to escape, VK-7 [[HeroicSacrifice closed his ground-to-orbit pod door and lunged at the enemy, ensuring he got off of Venus]].
** This part is especially sad when listening to Savah telling the story. You can ''hear'' him fighting back tears as he recounts the loss of someone who possibly his closest friend.
* Meta example: Prime Time #209 was expected to begin as planned, but ''immediately'' cut to Megan and Rebecca ''[[https://clips.twitch.tv/SparklyInterestingButterBudStar trying their damnedest not to cry]]'' followed by the equally immediate cancellation of the show. It's enough to stop the rampaging tyrant in his tracks, and he doesn't even think twice when "Margulis" tells him to kiss her, as part of Lotus' gambit to absorb the energy from the stolen Archon shard into herself, killing him in the process. Abusive, controlling, and tyrannical despot that he was, he still loved Margulis, in his own twisted way.
