!!Original game

* In the 2020 Remake there's a scene in the bonus room, showing what happened to Samekichi after sacrificing himself to stop the Sea of Death. After killing Sal and Princess Mikotsu, he's collapses from exhaustion and calmly accepts his death...only for a voice (implied to be Meikai) telling him that he can't die yet, as Wadanohara is still waiting for him. Remembering the sound of her ocarina, Samekichi uses what's left of his strength to escape the Sea of Death and reunite with Wadanohara.
* For all the crap she did, you might feel bad at Princess Mikotsu's death. After being beaten by Uomi, she finally does realize why she was choosen by their father to be the ruler. However she admits she's beyond redemption and tells Samekichi to put an end to her suffering. Which he does.
** To make things worse, she speaks normally during her final moments, signifying how she's back to her senses and is dying as herself.
