** What's even sadder is the revelation that he's a werewolf. Anna is initially overjoyed to see him alive again and then she realises. She gets him back and loses him again in practically a minute.

Anna thinks Van Helsing sees him as just another monster to kill, trying to remind him that he can't help hurting people and it isn't his fault.
