** Kohei's disappearance is arguably the saddest in this route due to him vanishing while sitting on a bench as Misaki steps aside to get ice cream for them. When she returns, she's talking about the fun things she wants to do with him, realizes he isn't responding, and can only call out to him while in a state of near helplessness. The timing couldn't have been worse as she was just beginning to overcome her fear of going anywhere that wasn't her house or the school.

** Misaki revealing she's terrified of the outside world beyond the school because it was her whole world even before attending it, and that she was not born blind but lost her sight during her final year of elementary school. It's a stark contrast from her usual attitude, especially as Kohei feels helpless on being able to do anything for her.
** Misaki's private graduation ceremony where her acceptance speech basically doubles as her love confession, but she's unable to complete it before she would otherwise break down because of her own fear of being an inconvenience to anyone she falls in love with due to her disability.

* Most of the routes contain at least one. Fans, however, tend to agree that Misaki has the most depressing one. %%Expand on this after completing her route.

* Misaki's Route:
** A positive one when Kohei takes the time to create a New Years Card for Misaki and does his best to write it in Braille for her to read. She's genuinely moved to tears of joy when she explains how happy it made her.
** As Kohei begins to disappear and all of Yukiko, his homeroom teacher, and Mizuka begin to forget him, he encounters Misaki on the roof. She also asks, "Who are you?" which causes Kohei to begin to fall apart mentally, but quickly reveals she was joking as payback for not saying anything after he collided with her earlier in her route. When he hugs her in relief, she feels legitimately terrible for hurting him even without knowing the whole situation. But Kohei is content with her remembering him when no one else does.

* TheReveal of Kohei's DarkAndTroubledPast: Growing up with just his mother and his little sister, Misao, he did the best he could to be a good big brother to her thanks to their father's absence. Unfortunately, Misao is hospitalized for a full year and, while he visits her every day, their mother basically goes crazy and soon stops visiting. Despite putting up a strong front, Misao eventually breaks down and admits how much pain she's in right before she dies next to Kohei. In his grief and powerlessness, time stops for him and his mind creates the Eternal World, which threatens to trap him forever if he can't solidify a strong-enough bond with someone in the real world. The realization that he's beginning to fade away and people are beginning to forget about him in each route while he worries he didn't do enough are powerful moments.

* Mio's route reveals that she's Kohei's ForgottenChildhoodFriend from even before he met Mizuka. He loaned her his sketchbook so they could communicate and promises to return in a week in order to retrieve it. The reason he wasn't able to keep that promise? That day was also the day of Kohei's father's funeral. He was unable to bring himself to find her and apologize while harboring the guilt for a very long time.

He does retrieve it and leave a note to apologize for forgetting to keep his promise... after she forgets about him thanks to the Eternal World trying to draw him back.
** The climax of her route doubles as Heartwarming as Kohei refuses to disappear until after watching Mio perform in the play. After leaving her one final message in her personal sketchbook, he returns to the gym in order to fully disappear. At some point, Mio had regained her memories of him and catches up with him. They're able to confess their mutual feelings for each other and, unlike most other routes where he disappears while the heroine isn't looking, Kohei is able to hold Mio up until the moment he vanishes.

** Akane's ending turns from a sad to a happy one as she can't bring herself to keep up the facade of having already forgotten about him when he disappears and the vacant lot where she spent so much time waiting is going to be developed, but the shift happens after the TimeSkip when Shiiko drops her WhamLine in revealing that she's beginning to remember him, leading to his actual return and tears of joy from Akane shortly thereafter.
