* The Second Coming has a GoodTimesMontage of all the fun times he had with his friends while Possessed Red's obsidian mech beats him to within an inch of his life.
* When Red is freed from his DemonicPossession, [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone he's horrified at what he almost did to his friends]]. When the others initially approach him for their GroupHug, he flinches as if he thinks they're going to beat him up in retaliation.

* In ''vs. Youtube'', while the [=YouTube=] face is gloating after undoing the Second Coming's near victory with a refresh, the Second Coming is huddled on the ground holding his face in his hands, clearly at a loss.

* Similar to the ''vs. Youtube'' moment, near the end, Purple's worm-creature is destroying everyone else's main crystal while everyone sans Second Coming is lying nearby in defeat. Green struggles to stand at one point but fails, and when Red tries to continue to fight back, Green stops him; subtitles or no, it's clear they all think it's a lost battle.

!!Season 1
[[folder:Ep 7: ''[=PvP=]'']]
* Everyone mourning Green's (apparent) death, [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone especially The Second Coming.]] When Green respawns from the original "Stick Figures Fight" window, he finds everyone building a memorial shrine for him and laying down flowers.

[[folder:Ep 10: ''The End'']]
* When faced with a FriendOrIdolDecision, Purple chooses to go for the Dragon Egg rather than save Blue and Green about to fall into the void. As they watch the "Levitation" effect timer tick down, the two of them [[EtTuBrute toss their crowns into the void]] and embrace in one last hug.

[[folder:Ep 11: ''[=SkyBlock=]'']]
* After a Creeper blew their Mob Grinder, which allowed the other monsters to invade and take over their paradise. The Fighting Stick Figures are forced to huddle just for some warmth.
* The Second Coming begins to miss the others after he opts out of their decision to go through one of the portals shown at the end of ''The End''. Made worse when he tries to go help them and is cut off by a Ghast deactivating the portal with a fireball, forcing the Second Coming to jump into a different portal to save himself on top of trapping the other stick figures in the ''[=SkyBlock=]'' universe, separating them indefinitely.

[[folder:Ep 12: ''The Killer Bunny'']]
* In ''The Killer Bunny'', Red is pushed of the ledge and falls into the void. His friends are understandably distraught, until it's revealed that he survived, thanks to an ocean underneath.

[[folder:Ep 13: ''The Dolphin Kingdom'']]
* In ''The Dolphin Kingdom'', after barely surviving a Drowned attack, Green actually ''[[HeroicBSOD breaks down crying]]'', thinking that they will never find the Second Coming again. Again, it's mitigated, since it's revealed that the Second Coming is literally [[DramaticIrony only a few blocks away from them]]. In addition, Alan decided to be a TrollingCreator and make it look like the scene was gonna end with them still separated like that. Fortunately, it continues long enough for them to reunite.
** Even worse when you remember that Green was the one that disagreed with the Second Coming about whether or not to go through the portals at the beginning of "''[=SkyBlock=]''". While that last meeting was amicable enough that we can likely assume there was no PartingWordsRegret, it's easy to imagine that Green is ''really'' regretting not listening to the Second Coming and backing out of the adventure.
* Similarly, the prior scene with the Second Coming has him pull out his picture of his friends and forlornly hug it, after he was forced into yet another different portal by Nether mobs.

!!Season 3
[[folder:Ep 20: ''The Piglin War'']]
* The brief moment when Blue is falling into the lava; he frantically searches his inventory for something that could help him, and curls into a TroubledFetalPosition to brace for death when he fails.
* As Blue sinks into the lava, all he can do is hold the Piglin Child as high as possible to give them the best chance of being saved as he starts to go under.
* Despite their faces never changing, one can imagine the fear in the leader's eyes as they watch what might as well be their son being close to drowning in the lava.
* It is rather sad to know that all of Blue's work to get more Nether Wart was AllForNothing considering the amount of trouble and danger it took for him to get there.
* The fact that the stick figures are once again separated with Blue being in possible danger at the hands of a fake The Second Coming.

[[folder:Ep 21: ''The Witch'']]
* At the end of the episode, Purple returns and leads the Stick Gang to another Nether portal, very clearly excited. However, remembering the events of Season 1 and what they just went through, the Second Coming refuses to come and orders all of the heroes to go back home. The Fighting Stick Figures are very clearly sad about not coming to another adventure, and when Red looks behind himself, he sees Purple sitting on the grass, even sadder than the Fighting Stick Figures. We don't know just ''what'' Purple wants the Stick Gang to see, but he's very clearly excited that they are here, and he must have felt betrayed when they abandoned him.
** This gets significantly HarsherInHindsight when the very next episode shows Purple was manipulating them.

[[folder:Ep 22: ''Parkour'']]
* Even without dialogue or facial expressions, Green's body language when confronting Purple just screams EtTuBrute.
* [[DownerEnding The ending]] shows Green and the Pig imprisoned by [[LargeAndInCharge King]], unable to break free because they will be shocked when trying. They just put their heads against the wall, arguably crossing the DespairEventHorizon.

[[folder:Ep 24: ''Lush Caves'']]
* Seeing Second Coming and Red arguing with each other and eventually fighting each other. Since ''Animator vs. Animation 4'', the five stick figures were always best friends with each other, and now seeing two of them battling each other with such vitriol can make it feel like that friendship has broken. It even seems like Second Coming fully intends to kill him right before the fight ends!
** Even worse is how it starts; Red crumples, overwhelmed by hunger and despair, and the Second Coming basically tells him to QuitYourWhining. What follows is a back-and-forth BlameGame as both of them blame the other for getting them into this mess.[[note]]The Second Coming blames Red because following Purple was his idea while the Second Coming [[DidntWantAnAdventure just wanted to go home]]. Red counters that they at least had fun on the parkour course instead of dying of boredom back home, and adds that it was the Second Coming's idea to do that teleport glitch that sent them to the desert in the first place.[[/note]] Seeing TrueCompanions fall apart so quickly is just heartbreaking.
** Look at Red's body language as he gets up and approaches the Second Coming after the latter throws the first punch; it's near-identical to Green's as he confronted Purple back in ''Parkour''. You can tell Red isn't feeling any less betrayed at how the Second Coming has turned on him, and probably isn't happy about having to fight back.

[[folder:Ep 25: ''The Ultimate Weapon'']]
* Red's pig, who's accompanied the heroes since the start of Season 3, fades away and gets absorbed by the Master Block after Purple gets it. Thanks to how dire the situation is, they don't even have time to mourn for it.
* Green and Blue reacting to King and Purple successfully gaining the Master Block, even if we barely get to see it. While Red and Yellow stare in shock, it's made blatantly clear that Green and Blue crossed the DespairEventHorizon for the umpteenth time this season. Green just gives up and looks at the floor of his cell in despair, while Blue seems to be ''crying''.
** Red and Yellow also deserve a mention, even if their reactions aren't even nearly as sad. Red first covers his eyes due to the light before staring in shock, while Yellow barely moves, with his single movement indicating surprise than shock, sadness or horror.
* One would think that [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder Purple]] getting a taste of his own medicine would be [[CatharsisFactor cathartic]] and satisfying, yes? Well, no. Purple's reaction towards [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness King abandoning him]] is a very quick, yet completely visible DespairEventHorizon. While he overcomes it literally just a second or two later in favour of [[ScrewThisImOutOfHere getting out of dodge]], you can see the betrayal he felt. This is even worse when you realise [[UndyingLoyalty King is the only person Purple showed true loyalty to]]. Also not helping is the fact that it takes ''two'' betrayals for it to sink in; the first time King smacks Purple aside, Purple seems to be in denial of that fact and still sics the Piglin Brute army on the FSF for King's sake.
** When Purple jumps off the tower after losing his elytra, we don't see the ground. While it turns out he just ran off to go through a Nether portal, for a moment it seemed like he was DrivenToSuicide and jumped into the lava.

[[folder:Ep 26: ''The Warden'']]
* The Warden's flashback of when the Deep Dark City was a thriving town of villagers and itself their beloved Golem, brought on by Second Coming playing its old music on his flute. The BearHug Second Coming receives from the Warden says it all.

[[folder:Ep 27: ''Monster School'']]
* Red being unfairly targeted by the monster students can certainly strike a chord with anyone who was a victim of bullying in the past. Not helped by the fact that the teacher doesn't care and just fails him after each sabotage.
* Red's group during the final team race being [[UngratefulBastard Ungrateful Bastards]] when he decides to come back and help them. For a second, it looks like they're just gonna bolt for the finish line and leave him at the mercy of the other monsters.

[[folder:Ep 28: ''The Raid'']]
* The first thing Blue and Yellow see upon entering the village they previously saved is it being raided and destroyed, followed by them being imprisoned alongside the villagers. The Pillagers are even shown raiding the automatic farm they built just to rub it in.
* The Titan Ravager cowering upon seeing Yellow's command block staff, remembering it's companions being offed by a similar staff. Fortunately, Yellow isn't there to finish the job.

[[folder:Ep 29: ''Note Block Universe'']]
* It's subtle, but Purple's Note Block speaking is very discordant at first, as an audio cue of how distressed he is. It gets worse with every ArmorPiercingQuestion Green throws at him.
* Purple's childhood is... [[DarkAndTroubledPast really messed up.]] First, he sings about how his father was abusive when he was a tyke, and when he tries to fight him back, he fails miserably. Twice. This kind of situation ended in a divorce, which caused Purple's mother to pass away. It's then implied that every mean thing he did [[WellDoneSonGuy was out of a wish to live up to his father's standards]], and he even seems to believe by the end that he's a monster and deserves the Stick Gang's rejection. Even though he's a sidekick to the King, [[JerkassWoobie it's quite difficult not to feel terrible for him.]]
* Even more tragic is the fact that initially, when Purple is very young, it seems that they're just having a friendly spar (considering fighting seems to be an integral part of, er, Stick People Culture?). But Purple's father is far too harsh even then, and consistently gets angry at Purple for losing to him, going as far as to take it out on their mother and leaving the family. Seeing the (unfair) fatherly disappointment evolve into abuse is downright depressing.

* King's backstory in general, he was once a caring and protective father to his son such as going into trips together, but all of that changed during a festival due to his son being interested into the game called ''Minecraft''. After joining into the game's stand, his son entered into the simulation, everything was well until the simulation started to get a error and glitch out, with his son desperately trying to get out of the game, with his father desperately trying to save him, to no avail. [[StartOfDarkness This marks the beginning of his turn]] [[FromNobodyToNightmare from a loving father to a genocidal despot.]]
* At first, after witnessing King's backstory, you might expect that everything he's done is in an effort to open some kind of portal into the void to bring his son back. You'd be wrong, [[KilledOffForReal King's son is simply]] ''[[CessationOfExistence gone]]'', there's nothing to bring back and he knows it. What he actually plans to do is [[OmnicidalManiac bring the same fate onto the entire world of Minecraft]] [[PutThemAllOutOfMyMisery out of revenge]].
* Notably, at no point during either the planning or execution of his scheme [[SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum does King actually include an escape plan for himself]], despite destroying the entire world from the inside. Either he was so driven by despair from the loss of his son that he didn't care what happened to him, or him going down with the Minecraft world was actively part of the plan.
* King absorbs the Minecraft entities that the Stick Gang (sans Green who reconciles with Purple) befriended throughout the entire season.
* It's worth noting that when the Stick Gang takes a (second) stand against King, Red is the first to attack him, and he punches him in the face multiple times, meaning that Red is pretty upset at the fact that King absorbed his new friends.
* When Purple decides to face King alone (with the risk of getting blasted into oblivion), Green (who's glitching out from the blast) reaches out as if pleading for Purple not to do it. It's kind of sad when you realize that in the previous episode, Green and Purple had just made up and become friends.
* Listen closely to the music as Purple makes his final stand against King; the melody resembles the background music that played during Purple's backstory one episode earlier, specifically during the part after Purple's mother passed away, and he subsequently tried desperately to get his father's attention. It's as if Purple is once again lamenting the loss of a father figure that never truly cared about him.
* During the montage where the FSF gang are racing through the collapsing Nether to get the Dual Staff through the portal, Blue tries to rescue some of the Piglin Tribe members he befriended in "The Piglin War". He even tries to rescue the baby Piglin, only for Yellow and Red to force him to ditch the kid and keep running.

!!Animator vs. Animation V
[[folder:Ep 1: ''The Virus'']]
* At the climax of ''The Virus'', the titular [=ViraBot=] eats the Animator's mouse cursor. He tries to retrieve a new one like he did in ''4'', only for [=ViraBot=] to destroy the start menu. He's already seen that [=ViraBot=] can dissolve anything with a single bite. At that point he's completely powerless to protect his friends against this monstrosity, and it certainly looked like [=ViraBot=] was about to kill The Second Coming before The Chosen One entered the scene.

[[folder:Ep 2: ''The Chosen One's Return'']]
* At the end, the Chosen One succeeds in defeating the Virus, but he opens up a portal to leave, either because he has to return to wherever he had been roaming before his return, or he still cannot help but feel as if staying in the Animator's computer takes away his freedom due to past events. Also, the state of the computer is devastatingly ruined.

[[folder:Ep 4: ''The Showdown'']]
* Seeing the four friends Second Coming has [[ForcedToWatch die in front of him]], then getting beat up himself. The fact that DeathIsCheap at the end of the video doesn't hamper this in the slightest. Its worse than their "death" in ''[=AvA IV=]'' for two reasons: the Second Coming has had more time to get attached to them, and their deaths are much more drawn-out than they were before (at first, they were just poofed away; here they're slowly dissolved).

* To see The Second Coming looking at his hands after seeing the footage of himself blasting The Dark Lord with his laser vision can be heartbreaking. It's as if he's saying "What did I do?"
* And to see Yellow being dragged away from Red, Green, and Blue is tough for anyone to see.

* ''My Ghast Friend'' ends with Blue thinking Yellow and the Ghast's tickle fight is the Ghast attacking Yellow, and responding by shooting the Ghast; which drops a Ghast Tier just for extra salt in the wound.
* ''Cherry Blossoms'' leads with Purple gathering Cherry Blossoms in a Minecraft world, before returning to the Stick Figure World we saw glimpses of in ''The King''. It ends with him putting those flowers on his mother's grave.

* When the [[https://www.youtube.com/user/hyunsdojo Hyun's Dojo community]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BaAPDK0SzU mourned the deaths of community members Zaix and AngelXMikey]], two of their well-loved animators who passed away in real life, Alan Becker was one of the people who joined the [[InMemoriam memorial collab]]. At the 1:06 mark, the Second Coming and his friends walk up to the gravestone, put down flowers and bow solemnly before sitting down with the other animators. While the Second Coming and his friends are known for their epic adventures within the series, this is the first time where they are not only completely saddened, but they are also mourning RealLife deaths.
