Referencing something in continuity is not a Shout Out. The things based on comic book titles are a Mythology Gag. Something vaguely resembling isn't a Shout Out, it has to be a deliberate reference.

* The stage name Colleen gives at the fight club is "[[ComicBook/DaughtersOfTheDragon Daughter of the Dragon]]."

* At one point, Danny hides from Rand security forces by clinging to a ceiling, and nearly gives himself away when blood from one of his wounds drips down, similar to something that happened to Spider-Man in [[Film/SpiderMan1 the first movie of Sam Raimi's trilogy]].
* [[Film/TheAvengers2012 The Incident]] continues to be referenced at various times, such as the Rand crisis intervention response head telling the Meachums that the video of Danny's apology has more Website/YouTube hits than [[Film/TheIncredibleHulk that incredible green guy]], or Bakuto mentioning that he's taken in kids who were orphaned by the Incident.

* Danny and Joy's childhood habit of not eating brown M&Ms is possibly a subtle reference to Music/VanHalen's infamous 1982 tour rider requesting that no brown M&Ms be included in their backstage bowl of M&M's as a SecretTestOfCharacter to verify that the rest of the rider (and its various safety specifications) had been carried out thoroughly.

** The episode titles from Season 2 are taken from the titles of ''Iron Fist'' comic book stories.
* The scene from the end of Season 1 where Dany gets back to Kun Lun is vers similar to how Aang in WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender discovered the Southern Air Temple.

If it's a common trope, that just means the show is using the common trope, not a shout out

* The Hatchet-wielding Triad gang is [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Axe_Gang a common trope]] in Hong Kong Wuxia cinema, most memorably in the aforementioned ''Film/DrunkenMaster'' series.

Not a shout out

* Season 2 introduces Mary Walker, played by Alice Eve. [[spoiler: While the character knows that she has 2 distinct identities from her Dissociative Identity Disorder, she eventually learns that she has a 3rd identity that neither Mary or Walker knew about. In a punny coincidence, ''Iron Fist'' had [[Film/ThreeFacesOfEve Alice Eve playing a character with 3 different faces]].]]

More likely referencing the original, since it's unlikely that Claire has been watching children's movies for quite a while.

* When Davos mentions a dragon, Claire asks if it's like a Komodo dragon or ''Film/PetesDragon2016''.

* Danny and Joy's childhood habit of not eating brown M&Ms is possibly a subtle reference to Music/VanHalen, who in their infamous 1982 tour rider requested that no brown M&Ms be included in their backstage bowl of M&M's or the band would not perform.[[note]]The request was not intended to be self-indulgent or eccentric, but was instead proof that the promoters had thoroughly read the rest of their rider, which included important information about safety, security, lighting and ticketing. If they found brown M&Ms, they had a reason to believe that the promoter was inattentive, because if such a small request had been glossed over, then other more important things also had; as a result, they would have reason to demand that the venue inspect and/or redo the setup, or could just refuse to play altogether if the venue balked. This was justified by the band after a number of near-misses caused by promoters not adhering to health and safety requirements that resulted in damaged equipment and members of the road crew very nearly being electrocuted on several occasions, and their concert preparations were so cumbersome they were rather reluctant to tour outside the USA at various points[[/note]]
