* Episode 11 reveals that the reason Mitsuru resents Hiro is because [[spoiler: Mitsuru wanted to pilot a Franxx with Hiro when they were children, and both of them even promised on that. Then after Mitsuru underwent surgery to have a better chance at piloting, when he went to inform Hiro about it, Hiro had already forgotten about their promise.]]

* She outright would prefer to be able to ride with Ichigo than anyone else in the partner shuffle episode.

* Kokoro has shown concern for Mitsuru's well being. Mitsuru is somewhat gentler with her than with Ikuno, and they seem to have good chemistry together. Possibly a case of OppositesAttract.

* Miku and Kokoro were certainly comfortable with Miku laying her head in Kokoro's lap, as if they'd done this before (and the two are probably roommates). Even if Miku states it probably made all the boys jealous. It might not go farther than a RomanticTwoGirlFriendship, but its there.

* ''Episode 9'', oh, where to begin with. [[spoiler:Goro realises he loves Ichigo, but prefers keeping it to himself not to jeopardize their partnership. At the end of the episode, after a near death experience for the both of them, he outright confesses after gifting her a new hairclip. She blushes and is at a loss of words at first, but then tells him she's happy to be his partner. He doesn't mind because he's just happy to be with her]].
** In a more subtle sense, [[spoiler:Ichigo lost the hairpin Hiro'd gifted her when they were kids and now wears the one Goro made]]. Out with the old, in with the new?

* Zorome may ogle other girls, And Miku think some other boys are handsome, but none of them are half so important to him as Miku, and she never goes farther than oogling guys herself. She's the only person [[TheGadfly he]] never intentionally upsets.
* They're, [[BelligerentSexualTension quite predictably]], the most adamant about splitting sides in episode 8, but in the end Miku tells him that, as long as he respects her, she won't mind letting him see a little of her... goods, so to speak.

* Gorosays he feels for Ichigo the same way Hiro feels about Zero Two. Later in episode 9 [[spoiler:Goro tells Ichigo he loves her]]. At this point, Hiro is probably the only one that hasn't fully realised it yet.

* They spend time together despite the ThisIsMySide fight between boys and girls. This is also one of the first episodes we get to see them have fun together when he chases her after she steals the boys' underwear, with Hiro genuinely laughing and Zero Two mentioning that she actually feels human.

* Hiro is quite taken by the sight of Zero Two in a swimsuit, despite not showing much of a reaction when it comes to his other female friends.

* Zoromo tried to kiss Hiro, to find out what it was like. Probably the least serious ship, but that probably won't stop fanfic writers.

* Zorome may ogle other girls, but none of them are half so important to him as Miku. In fact she's the only person [[TheGadfly he]] never intentionally upsets.

* Seemingly the most balanced relationship initially, with Futoshi doting on the sweet and gentile Kokoro. But see below for posssible rocks ahead in the relationship.

* Episode 6 has a bunch. Zero Two actively watches over Hiro's worsening state while they pilot.[[spoiler:Hiro's CooldownHug when Zero Two starts going berserk]] and [[spoiler: his newfound purpose of "being her wings"]] take the crown though.

* Zero Two watching over Hiro's state when he starts feeling sick in episode 6. Though the crown has to go to [[spoiler:Hiro's CooldownHug when Zero Two starts going berserk after he seemingly died. While she struggles to free the franxx on her own, going through enormous pain, he realizes that she, like him, is a someone who can't fly alone. Hiro hugs her, her eyes turn blue again, and he swears he'll be by her side for a s long as he'll be able to. If his only reason to pilot before was to defend the adults and Papa, now he has another one: being her wings]].

* Hiro eating what Zero Two offers him in episode 5 as opposed to episode 2, where he was more interested in whether or not he had piloted the Franxx with her. It shows he's come to trust her.
