* ReusedCharacterDesign: A lot of the creatures are reused models from ''Series/PrehistoricPredators'', including ''Smilodon'', the dire wolf, ''Amphicyon'', megalodon, ''Archaeotherium'', the ancient bison, and so on. Though oddly averted with the short-faced bear, despite it appearing in ''Prehistoric Predators'', as it is given a wholly new design.

** The T. rex model is incredibly lanky, looking more like an albertosaur, when the actual animal was quite stocky.

* AnimalsNotToScale: The ''Postosuchus'' is so huge that it can gulp down a ''Coelophysis'' in one bite. While the former was ''larger'' than the latter, it only reached 5-6 meters compared to the 3-meter-long ''Coelophysis''.

** One episode says that ''Elasmosaurus'' could reach ''20 meters'' in length, though it's averted in all its other appearances.

* AnimalsNotToScale: The ''Postosuchus'' is so big it can eat a ''Coelophysis'' whole while the real animal was no where near big enough to do that.

* MisplacedWildlife: Mostly averted, since all the featured animals have indeed been found near the city which is the focus of the episode, or at least near the state its located in, but a few examples still pop up.
** ''Parasaurolophus'' and ''Albertosaurus'' are both shown living in California, even though no evidence of either dinosaur has ever been found in California.

** ''Archelon'' shows up in the New York episode, but fossils of it are only known from Pierre Shale, specifically South and North Dakota.

* MisplacedWildlife: ''Archelon'' in New York (only known from the Western Interior Seaway - guess where it was), and ''Albertosaurus'' in California in the southern part of what is known as Laramidia, just to name two.

** The idea that ''Parasaurolophus'' used its trumpet-like calls as defense against predators is brought up. Well, they don't say they could [[Series/ClashOfTheDinosaurs knock down predators]] but still.
