* AmbiguousDisorder: To say Eight is a bit weird would be an understatement. Though it is never outright stated whether he has a mental health disorder, it is alluded to a few times.

* TheNicknamer: Officer Harper rarely calls Mobeen by his real name, preferring to address him as Moonbeam, Maybelline, Man-Boobs or other mild insults.
* TheNotSoHarmlessPunishment: Mobeen lays a beatdown on Shahid with fruit from a fruit stand. Sounds innocuous, except Mobeen also shoves kiwi into his face, to which he is allergic.

* ThickerThanWater: Discussed by the trio and deconstructed in "Bagpuss." Aqsa is clearly conflicted when her friend Khareema asks her to hang on to a bunch of drugs that she had been transporting for the local drug dealer when the latter girl is tailed by the police. Rather than report to a fellow denizen of Small Heath, [[BigBrotherInstinct Mobeen]] [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge takes matters into his own hand]].

Eight confronts the seller about the dead cat, who replaces it with another bag with the "laptop" - it's implied that it is another dead cat.

* FakeOutOpening: The second series opener "Prom Night" opens with Mobeen surrounded by blades, fire, and threatening dialogue - cut to Mobeen berating the barber for being overly melodramatic and telling him to get on with his haircut.
* {{Fingore}}: A construction worker in the AE queue was subject to this and is getting his (middle) finger reattached. When Mobeen slaps him in the back, [[{{Squick}} his finger falls off]] and he starts screaming in agony! However, [[NightmareFetishist Eight]] is fascinated by it.

* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: When Aqsa is unwittingly and tangentially pulled into the orbit of a local drug pusher, Mobeen goes on one of these, interrupted only when he plays when a street cat.

* SiblingRivalry: They aren't siblings and it is very much one-sided, but Eight is incredibly jealous Aqsa being the object of Mobeen's (brotherly) affection and frequently inserts himself into their hugs. For her part, Aqsa doesn't really care, but occasionally [[TheGadfly provokes Eight]].
