* Conservation can be a pain due to many mechanics at play that aren't explained to you, namely figuring out what you need (a Tranq and a Lure for each animal you want to capture), how to use your tools, and tracking your targets. It definitely doesn't help that the animal tracks tend to be hard to follow due to them [[PixelHunt blending in a little too good against their surroundings on some graphic settings.]] Sometimes, the tracks will flat-out glitch up and make it even more annoying to track down the animals.
** Thankfully, conservation is, for the most part, optional and serves as another method to earn Standing in the Plains and Orb Vallis. In Deimos, however, it's all but mandatory for the purpose of earning Son Tokens which you need to rank up with the Entrati, as well as if you want to "gild" your Deimos pets for mastery points. So, you'll have no choice but to work with Conservation. Thankfully, a few easy targets occasionally pop up for grabs while you're doing other things but you still need to search for more specific critters to earn tokens more reliably.

* Prior to the "Abyss of Dagath" update, Conservation can be was a major pain due to many mechanics at play that aren't explained how hard it was to you, namely figuring out what you need (a Tranq actually follow the target's tracks, which were very faint and a Lure for each animal you want to capture), how to use your tools, and tracking your targets. It definitely doesn't help that blended into the ground very well. Thankfullly, the aforementioned update improved the contrast on the animal tracks tend to be hard to follow due to them [[PixelHunt blending in a little too good against their surroundings on some graphic settings.]] Sometimes, the tracks will flat-out glitch up and make it even more annoying to track down the animals.

* Loot Pickup-- or rather, the inherent lack thereof. Without a special mod on companions (either Vacuum for robotic companions or Fetch for Kavat and Kubrow variants) you have to physically walk over most loot in order to pick it up, and DE is adamant about not changing this for poorly-defined reasons. This used to be even ''worse''-- before 2015, the only companion with a loot vacuum was the Carrier Sentinel, meaning that it was essentially the meta to use it if you wanted to collect loot in missions, and Sentinels ''do not come back'' after they die, unless you burn a revive or have the Regen mod equipped on it. Fetch, the Kavat and Kubrow equivalent of Vacuum, wasn't released until Fortuna in 2018.
* The Helminth Cyst. Released with the advent of Nidus, the Helmith Cyst manifests as a giant boil on the neck of your Warframe that can be popped in order to make a Kubrow variant called the Helminth Charger. What makes this a Scrappy Mechanic is 1) the cyst can spread randomly from player to player just by being in the same session 2) the boil cannot be hidden for and is literally a giant, oozing sore on the neck of your Warframe, ruining [[SeriousBusiness Fashionframe]] potential, and 3) you have to wait a ''week'' for it to get to full maturity before you can go through the Infested door on your orbiter to have it popped and the Frame permanently inoculated against it. And you have to do this for every. Single. Frame. As of writing, there are a total of 70 Warframes[[note]]Counting the prime variants, including Excalibur Prime and Excalibur Umbra.[[/note]], and that's not counting any duplicates you may want.
** Thankfully this was later patched to allow players to pop the cyst ''before'' it reached maturity.

* K-Drives are seen as a huge annoyance and not worth using. While a HoverBoard might sound fun to ride, it's clunky and hard to maneuver, and in practice, you'll constantly be bumping into things, slowing you down. Doing tricks for points is also a pain outside of a few specific areas. K-Drives had a bit of value in older version when the Archwing Launcher was a consumable item, but now that you can summon a super-fast jetpack whenever you want, there are next to no real reasons to ever use a K-Drive over an Archwing; their value was further reduced when FastTravel was implemented in open worlds. The frustration of riding a K-Drive is the whole reason why Yareli's quest, The Waverider, is consider ThatOneSidequest and ignored by many players, and those who do have Yareli often use Helminth to replace her Merulina ability, which lets you ride an Exalted K-Drive in any mission, with something more practical despite Merulina being her signature skill.

** As of the ''Seven Crimes of Kullervo'' you're allowed to preview your cave offerings on the Duviri menu so you can still make an educated decision as to whether or not you enter the circuit. It still doesn't change the fact that [[LowTierLetdown some weapons or 'Frames are just ''not'' suited to strenuous Steel Path missions at all.]]

* With the Duviri Paradox comes the Duviri Circuit missions, an endless stream of truncated missions that consist of Defense, Survival, Excavation, Exterminate and Void Flood. What pulls this into scrappy territory is the fact that your available loadouts are ''[[LuckBasedMission randomized]]'', and not from equipment you own either, ''every single piece of equipment available in the entire game.''
