Bohman is an advanced ArtificialIntelligence created by the BigBad Lightning in order to create a new world for AIs and is the DragonInChief of Season 2. He was created from data accumulated from TheHero Yusaku Fujiki's duels. During Yusaku's first 2 encounters with him, Bohman doesn't really understand why he was created, since his job was just to get stronger by dueling Yusaku. It's during their third duel that he knows his purpose in life. Bohman gains experience from watching others duel and forms a bond with his LittleBigBrother Haru. Eventually, Bohman loses his fourth and final duel against Yusaku and is KilledOffForReal.

Tabatha is the current leader of a shadow organization called the Bloodwing Butterflies who acts as a KnowledgeBroker to Magilou's Menagerie after her husband was captured and executed. In order to defeat the BigBad Artorius, Velvet seeks her help in gaining information.

Oh yeah. Tabatha is able to carry herself with dignity and doesn't flinch at the party, despite knowing that they are an AntiHeroTeam. She has excellent spies that seem to watch the whole town where they operate, so she knows about how they almost got stopped at the front gate. Her spy network includes members of the Abbey in secret, and has even informed her about the specifics of Velvet's DarkAndTroubledPast. One job she has for the group has her give them a documentation to get them passed a security checkpoint. The three jobs that she has for Velvet involve getting rid of an addictive substance called Nectar that the Abbey is profiting off of. She continues to help the party after the jobs are over, but only because Velvet figured out that their next target is a SinisterMinister who's in charge of the production of Nectar. Tabatha's spies also learn about a secret passageway that the party uses to infiltrate their target.

During the final act of the story, the Abbey enacts their Ceremony of Suppression, causing a small scale WorldOfSilence, stripping most people of their emotions. Tabatha is one of the only people to resist this mind control, through sheer willpower.

She certainly is. Tabatha willingly serves the Lord of Calamity in disrupting the order that the Abbey has brought about. She also doesn't help out the group until they accomplish certain deeds that are assigned to them, which Tabatha explicitly states are all illegal. She even lets the party stay at her tavern without charge, further proving herself as an accomplice.

After her debut, she doesn't get a whole lot of screentime, but Tabatha also doesn't do anything that could outright disqualify her. The big question is whether what she does do sufficient enough to count. She ends up giving the party information on how to get to Artorius, making her important despite not having too much screentime.

Magilou Mayvin is the adopted daughter of Melchior Mayvin, TheHeavy of the game. Due to being born with a proficiency in magic, Magilou was disowned by her real parents and became a circus performer before being found by Melchior. After failing a SecretTestOfCharacter in the form of YourHeartsDesire, Magilou was disowned again, eventually ending up in TheAlcatraz. In the 1st act of the game, Velvet busts her out of prison, and she begins to follow her for the remainder of the game, only becoming playable after regaining her ability to use magic. throughout the story, it starts to become clear that Magilou is very jaded, not really caring about what happens next and she's DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife. Despite that, she still manages to hold herself together, even after the journey is over.

Eizen (no, not [[Characters/BleachSosukeAizen Aizen]]) is TheSmartGuy of the party, as well the NumberTwo of the Aifread {{Pirate}}s led by the absent Van Aifread, being their first mate. He happens to be a [[OurSpiritsAreDifferent Malak]], which means he's ReallySevenHundredYearsOld. Eizen is afflicted with a {{Curse}} known as the Reaper's Curse, which causes him to spread bad luck everywhere he goes. This has caused him (and others) lots of misfortune, and has gotten dozens of his allies killed. Because of this, he can't be anywhere near his sister Edna (who's a party member in VideoGame/TalesOfZestiria, which is set 1,000 years after this one), and has to settle for exchanging letters with her.

Eizen is a GeniusBruiser who knows when something's a bad idea. He's usually one of the more cautious members of the party, making sure everyone keeps their heads on straight. When trying to infiltrate a fortress, Eizen notices an otherwise invisible barrier before anyone else could. To get around this, Eizen provides advice on how to get inside and fulfill their objective. When the party is in their DarkestHour, it's Eizen who tells the NaiveNewcomer Laphicet that he needs to give Velvet a dose of GetAHoldOfYourselfMan. When he meets an illusion of Aifread, he manages to BluffTheImposter by saying he writes to his "brother", letting him see through the deception, after which he punches him in the chest.

Eizen makes sure to warn the party about his Reaper's Curse when they're about to join forces, saying he can't guarantee their safety. He's proven to be capable adapting to his curse by fighting with GoodOldFisticuffs, since his fists don't break like a conventional weapon like a sword. He's the most proactive in the story's lesson to just BeYourself, encouraging others to fight for what they personally want, especially Laphicet. As a pirate who's lived for over a thousand years, Eizen has an extensive knowledge of the world, from knowing which treasures are valuable enough to steal, to understanding how the world works and is the most grounded party member (though not without his [[TheComicallySerious lighthearted moments]]).

On top of assisting the AntiHeroTeam in all of the questionable things they've done starting from when he joined the party (including but not limited to freeing therions from their earthpulse points, which knowingly caused civilians to become [[OurDemonsAreDifferent daemons]] and wreak havoc in whatever settlement they're in), Eizen willingly and gladly served the infamous pirate captain Van Aifread. For context, Eizen at one point calls Aifread "the most terrible villain in a hundred years".

Not really. Despite being BornUnlucky to the LogicalExtreme, he manages to survive for 800 years after the events of the game before pulling a HeroicSacrifice to stop a VillainOfAnotherStory and save the world. He's smart enough to know what's what and dirty enough to cause mayhem, but doesn't go too far.

Giovanni is the leader of Team Rocket who steals Pokemon, calling it "business". He and his organization are wanted and feared across Kanto. This character has already had numerous incarnations as an MB, so the question is whether this one is unique enough to count. I'm here to argue that he is.

When confronted by Red the Silph Co., Giovanni actually defeats Red unlike in the games. This was possible due to multiple factors. First, he demonstrates his CombatPragmatist mindset by having his Nidoqueen attack Red's Charizard while it's still knocked down and hasn't gotten back up yet. Second, he actually taught his Nidoqueen Surf, which helps him capitalize on ElementalRockPaperScissors since Nidoqueen is a mixed attacker. After defeating Red, the latter tries to preach ThePowerOfFriendship as a reason to go against his schemes. Giovanni gives him a WhatTheHellHero response by telling him that he just let his "friend" Charizard get hurt. This shows that while Giovanni doesn't believe in friendship, he at least has a general idea of it and knows how to respond to an idealistic child. During the battle at the Viridian City Gym, his Rhyhorn knows Thunderbolt, which makes quick work of Red's Kabutops. This makes Giovanni come off as someone who is CrazyPrepared for almost any situation. In the original Red, Blue, Yellow, and their remakes, all of his Pokemon suffered from PoorPredictableRock. When he loses anyway, Giovanni proves to be more than a GracefulLoser by telling his henchmen to disband Team Rocket. Unlike other versions of this character, his HeelFaceTurn is completely genuine. The gym battle reminded him of who he was as a child, and seeing Red's resolve helped to change him.

Oh yeah, he still is. He's still the head of a criminal organization. While Team Rocket is in Silph Co., they perform experiments on wild Pokemon (which were shown to be in chains or containment cells) in an attempt to perfect the Master Ball. Some of the Pokemon have passed out from multiple tests. This treatment of Pokemon was not in the games, according to Bulbapedia. When Red confronts him there, he insists that the former needs to be put in his place. When one of his men tries to talk him out it because he's JustAKid, he disregards him.

I think I highlighted all of the differences between this Giovanni and the other ones. It's in the community's hands now as to whether or not it's enough for him to count.

* MagnificentBastard: [[DiabolicalMastermind Giovanni]] in this series is conniving and clever, while still distinct from his other incarnations. Once an idealistic young boy, he grew to lead the nefarious criminal organization Team Rocket, [[CorruptCorporateExecutive seeing Pokemon as nothing more than a business]]. When Red confronts him at the Silph Co., Giovanni easily defeats him by demonstrating pragmatism and greater experience, escaping the police on a helicopter, and giving Red something to think about for letting his Charizard get hurt. Giovanni gives his Pokemon different types of moves to use for almost any situation. After losing to Red in the Viridian City Gym, Giovanni disbands Team Rocket due to having been moved by Red's unflinching resolve and wishes for him to do better in the future.

Yoshitsune is one of the 12 Wyrmclan leaders (themed after the Chinese Zodiac) in the country of Hinomoto, specifically the leader of the Rooster Wyrmclan. She once existed during feudal times where she competed with her brother over the right to rule their domain. After a NearDeathExperience, she relocated to North Grastaea where she became a mercenary for decades. This was possible due to a special elixir that her subordinate Benkei gave her, which made her immortal (but she still ages into an old lady). After her adopted daughter Marie dies of old age, Yoshitsune goes back home to inherit her territory, becoming a wyrmclan leader. Eventually, Yoshitsune decided WhoWantsToLiveForever, and became a DeathSeeker because she didn't enjoy outliving those close to her. She learned that her immortality comes from a dragon named Tsukuyomi who's in the Realm of the Dead, so she sought to revive her in order to die. This meant secretly allying with Tsukuyomi's followers, the Mukuroshu, who seek to overthrow Hinomoto.

During her early days, Yoshitsune inspired loyalty in all of her men, since they are willing to die for her. When it's just her and Benkei, the latter prepares a boat for her to escape in and goes OneManArmy on the enemy forces, where it's revealed that he DiedStandingUp. His LastRequest was for her to live a happy life. Upon arriving in North Grastaea, Yoshitsune knew that her foreign name would make it hard to get a job, so she went under the alias "Khan", where she saw great success and respect.

In the Cursed Connections event, when she's trapped in a barrier (made by the Onmyoji Seimei, leader of the Ox Wyrmclan) with the main characters, she gets the idea to destroy it by pretending to try to kill them so they can fight with all of their might. Letting them in on the plan would've made them hold back, which would've kept the barrier up. This plan destroys the barrier, letting them catch up to Seimei and Doman of the Mukuroshu. When they do catch up, Yoshitsune figures out that Seimei intends to cause a MutualKill between him and Doman. When Seimei asks how she knows, Yoshitsune says that she investigated a {{Curse}} that can only be destroyed if he and Doman, the inheritors, are killed. She later gives Seimei a lecture on how he shouldn't throw his life away when there are still people who value him, which changes his mind.

Her relationship with the Mukuroshu is shown to be healthy, since no one there suspects that she's PlayingBothSides (she has a friendly chat with Doman about his getting into the Halidom). By the time that's known, the grunts she tells are already dead by her hand. When she tells Shingen at the end of his Adventurer Story, he lets her off the hook since she's not a threat anymore, making her a KarmaHoudini (granted, she's gonna die because she lost her immortality, but she's escaped what she considers a FateWorseThanDeath).

Yoshitsune provides a letter for the villainous Doman to infiltrate the Halidom (the main characters' PlaceOfProtection), knowing that he plans to take it over. This causes the mana in there to become polluted, forcing the heroes out of their home. When she meets Doman in the Halidom, she's neither shocked nor displeased with how the mana has been polluted. The fact that she even sends information to the Mukuroshu shows that justice is not her biggest priority. That being said, she's not a malicious person, since she can still give friendly advice to Seimei about his own DeathSeeker attitude, and is generally a polite and composed individual.

Admittedly, her plan of trying to revive Tsukuyomi through Doman doesn't actually work, but that doesn't really matter. Yoshitsune is unfazed by this, and says she can just continue to secretly aid the Mukuroshu. While Tsukuyomi does make an appearance in the Celestial Showdown event, nothing seems to outright confirm Yoshitsune having anything to do with this. That being said, Yoshitsune does show up and contributes to the big fight against Tsukuyomi, proving that she's opportunistic and can just improvise. After a battle against the villain Nedrick, Valyx's military skills were pointed out in a moment of VillainRespect, with Nedrick going as far as to say, "Your troops fight with both great fury and unmatched discipline, and your military mind is keen." He even compliments Valyx for inspiring UndyingLoyalty in his men. Later in the story, when Nedrick announces his plan to give everyone in Grastaea the ability to forge a pact with dragons, Valyx notes how much of a bad idea this is by pointing out the reason why dragon pacts are so rare is because most people would succumb to WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity. This shows that Valyx knows how his world works and has reliable knowledge on dragons. He forged a pact with Thor (no, not the one from Recap/DragaliaLostKindredTies; that's Thórr), known as The Fulminator. It's revealed in Thor's Dragon Story that Valyx is a {{Determinator}} who was willing to risk his life, despite having the reputation of being average compared to his older siblings. He gained Thor's respect by StaringDownCthulhu. Valyx is AFatherToHisMen who gets mad when one of them is traumatized, ordering them to find and kill whoever did this. At the end of his first encounter with the heroes Valyx leaves, saying that his men are tired, showing that he does KnowWhenToFoldEm. In his Adventurer Story, he has to defeat and capture a former king who's TheCaligula named Galkin. Galkin is in the mountains, where his forces can see a raid coming and counter it. Valyx gets the idea to transform and fly over there from an altitude that they can't see him coming from, so he can weaken the enemy forces, ensuring no casualties. This Element of Surprise keeps them from using their DeadlyGas that's being used to threaten innocent lives.

In one of Malora's Adventurer Stories, his very presence is shown to motivate the imperial soldiers to do better since they know he doesn't mess around. Upon confronting Malora herself, Valyx makes it clear that he's NotDistractedByTheSexy and he doesn't care that she's a MsFanservice since he knows she works for Euden to at least some extent. When Malora explains her situation (she has to retrieve a TragicKeepsake necklace for someone that was stolen), he gives her until sunset and warns her that if she tries to escape, he'll know since he's now keeping tabs on her, and then he'll kill her himself (since she claims that she can seduce whatever guards would otherwise watch her cell). This knowledge of her constant location proves valuable when he has to save her from the man who has the necklace.

He still manages to be one. In his debut chapter, he tests TheHero Euden's ability to be worthy of surviving his judgement. He argues by saying the heroes' place, known as the Halidom, might end up as a haven for bandits or even a force to directly oppose TheEmpire. While Euden passed the test, Valyx made it clear that he would commit SiblingMurder if Euden lacked the faith of the people who defended him. This makes Valyx into a SinkOrSwimMentor since AllLovingHero Euden has to adapt or die. During a conversation with the KnightInShiningArmor Leif, Valyx deduced that Leif was trying to join Euden despite a lack of confession, and threatened to kill him if they ever met on the battlefield.

This is where things get tricky. His Adventurer Story reveals that he was ForcedIntoEvil when he learned that his father, TheGoodKing Aurelius was suffering from DemonicPossession. Valyx wanted to start a rebellion, but the demon Morsayati warned him that even if he won against him, the collateral damage would result in a PyrrhicVictory, making the whole thing not worth it. Valyx thought about his situation and chose to serve TheEmpire... on the condition that he personally leads their main military force. This doesn't completely stop their RapePillageAndBurn tendencies, but it does lessen it by a good deal. Also, despite having to choose the LesserOfTwoEvils, Valyx still does bad things willingly. His attack on the Halidom, a PlaceOfProtection, would've endangered many innocent lives under his orders. He also made it clear that he may one day kill Leif, who's seen as TheParagon in-universe, citing the fact that he's become an enemy of TheEmpire. When Empress Zethia (Morsayati in another body) attempts to recruit the royal siblings, Valyx joins her, saying her rule is peaceful in its own way. When Euden refuses, Morsayati tries to sic his siblings on him, and it's clear that Valyx would've complied. He does get to pull a HeelFaceTurn very late in the story and learns to think for himself in [[Recap/DragaliaLostTheBloodThatBinds The Blood That Binds]]. Throughout the story, it's made clear that despite a SadisticChoice, Valyx still enough freedom over his actions to do both good and bad. After a battle against the villain Nedrick, Valyx's military skills were pointed out in a moment of VillainRespect, with Nedrick going as far as to say, "Your troops fight with both great fury and unmatched discipline, and your military mind is keen." He even compliments Valyx for inspiring UndyingLoyalty in his men. Later in the story, when Nedrick announces his plan to give everyone in Grastaea the ability to forge a pact with dragons, Valyx notes how much of a bad idea this is by pointing out the reason why dragon pacts are so rare is because most people would succumb to WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity. This shows that Valyx knows how his world works and has reliable knowledge on dragons. He forged a pact with Thor (no, not the one from Recap/DragaliaLostKindredTies; that's Thórr), known as The Fulminator. It's revealed in Thor's Dragon Story that Valyx is a {{Determinator}} who was willing to risk his life, despite having the reputation of being average compared to his older siblings. He gained Thor's respect by StaringDownCthulhu. Valyx is AFatherToHisMen who gets mad when one of them is traumatized, ordering them to find and kill whoever did this. At the end of his first encounter with the heroes Valyx leaves, saying that his men are tired, showing that he does KnowWhenToFoldEm. In his Adventurer Story, he has to defeat and capture a former king who's TheCaligula named Galkin. Galkin is in the mountains, where his forces can see a raid coming and counter it. Valyx gets the idea to tranform and fly over there from an altitude that they can't see him coming from, so he can weaken the enemy forces, ensuring no casualties. This Element of Surprise keeps them from using their DeadlyGas that's being used to threaten innocent lives.

This is where things get tricky. His Adventurer Story reveals that he was ForcedIntoEvil when he learned that his father, TheGoodKing Aurelius was suffering from DemonicPossession. Valyx wanted to start a rebellion, but the demon Morsayati warned him that even if he won against him, the collateral damage would result in a PyrrhicVictory, making the whole thing not worth it. Valyx thought about his situation and chose to serve TheEmpire... on the condition that he personally leads their main military force. This doesn't completely stop their RapePillageAndBurn tendencies, but it does lessen it by a good deal. Also, despite having to choose the LesserOfTwoEvils, Valyx still does bad things willingly. His attack on the Halidom, a PlaceOfProtection, would've endangered many innocent lives under his orders. He also made it clear that he may one day kill Leif, who's seen as TheParagon in-universe, citing the fact that he's become an enemy of TheEmpire. When Empress Zethia (Morsayati in another body) attempts to recruit the royal siblings, Valyx joins her, saying her rule is peaceful in its own way. When Euden refuses, Morsayati tries to sic his siblings on him, and it's clear that Valyx would've complied. He does get to pull a HeelFaceTurn very late in the story and learns to think for himself in [[Recap/DragaliaLostTheBloodThatBinds The Blood That Binds]]. Throughout the story, it's made clear that despite a SadisticChoice, Valyx still enough freedom over his actions to do both good and bad. He's a disciplined character who thinks things through, even if he has to make unsavory decisions.
