** Though Hokuto was always an antagonist in the manga, he was more of a WildCard to the extent that he helped Tsukune and Moka stop his own plan. Here, he's a straight-up no-gray-area villain and a blatant StrawNihilist who openly expresses the view that life itself is nothing but a meaningless plague that must be wiped out.
** The fic does away with the sympathetic backstory that Alucard had in canon completely. In the original manga, Alucard was originally supportive of human/monster co-existence, but turned evil after humans invaded the country he founded for exactly that and killed most of his loved ones. Here, Alucard began as an arrogant, overly powerful vampire who decided to simply destroy all life, human and monster alike, out of sheer [[StrawNihilist nihilism]], and eventually devolved into nothing but a mindless beast.
** In the absence of Alucard's significant canon backstory, there is a strong implication that Gyokuro Shuzen is not only the true leader of Fairy Tale, but its founder as well. If so, she would be ultimately responsible for all the suffering Fairy Tale has caused since Act II.
* AdaptationalWimp: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]; while Akua lacks the [[AbsurdlySharpBlade Jigen-Tou]] and is thus not the threat she was in the manga, she nonetheless remains a powerful and competent enough fighter to easily beat both Tsukune ''and'' Inner Moka at once with ease.
* AdultFear: In Act VI chapter 47, Mizore, Kurumu, and Yukari's parents all face this, having just witnessed their daughters get arrested and nearly executed by the [=HDA=] on national television.
* AdultsAreUseless: As usual, Headmaster Mikogami's general response to ''any'' threat amounts to "sit on my ass and do nothing while Tsukune's group risks their lives in my place." * AesopAmnesia: Kokoa suffers from this at first. In Act I, she's single-mindedly attracted to Dark despite the fact that he's only interested in Mizore, and it's only after Dark explicitly tells her to her face that he has no interest in her, along with the realization that chasing after him has negatively affected her {{pride}}, which Kokoa constantly boasts about, that Kokoa realizes her mistake and backs off. Come Act II, she's completely forgotten this lesson and goes so far as to invoke a sacred vampire pact, punishable by death if broken, with Moka in an attempt to have Tsukune to herself; the others [[LampshadeHanging even point out how pathetic it is]] that Kokoa didn't learn her lesson in ''not'' chasing after boys who are already taken the first time. When Kokoa loses the pact, and subsequently realizes that Tsukune ''only'' loves Moka and what she would have taken from him had she won, she finally seems to learn her lesson, and this time, it actually sticks.
* AffablyEvil[=/=]FauxAffablyEvil:
** For all of his BlueAndOrangeMorality, Hex is quite pleasant and polite, and doesn't particularly care if he loses at his game; it's all a part of luck, after all.
** Jovian and Jacqueline often act polite and sweet, even managing to earn the trust of Kyouko and Tsukune's mom by acting as such. Regardless, they're both unrepentant {{Psycho Lesbian}}s and {{sadist}}s who revel in causing others pain, especially by [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil raping]] those Hokuto has them hold hostage. ** The Human Defense Agency, or [=HDA=], that came into being after Alucard's attack and the subsequent exposure of monsters, is also fairly quick to write off all monsters as evil simply because of the actions of a few people, with one soldier flat-out telling Moka and Akasha to their faces that, as far as he's concerned, monsters like them aren't even animals. However, Moka and Akasha's efforts in Act VI with their director, who is actually not so black-and-white, seem to be making some progress.

To further drive the nail in, Kiria's plan was [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption doomed to fail from the start]], as if Tsukune and the others had fallen, [[TimeMaster Luna]] would have killed Kiria herself and then [[SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum let the Chrono Displacement spell go critical and destroy everything in a fit of madness]].
** During the final chapters of Act V, the actions of Babylon's minions lead the [=HDA=] to declare war on monsters, leading them to arrest and quarantine any monster they can find and drive the dark lords out of the human world. After some events, however, they realize by Act VI chapter 52 that their efforts were in vain; Babylon had been targeting the monster world all along, and the humans were unfortunate enough to get caught in the crossfire.

** As revealed in Act VI chapter 53, this is Gyokuro's plan for the Blackheart-enhanced clones of Moka, Ruby, Kokoa, Kurumu, Mizore, and Yukari: to have them destroy everyone and everything the originals hold dear before killing the girls themselves.

However, Hex reveals that instead of having her soul destroyed, Complica actually became an anomaly in existence similar to him; though even Hex is unsure what exactly became of Complica or where she ended up, he does know that Complica is still alive in some form. Come the first chapter of Act VII, and Complica returns as an AnthropomorphicPersonification of time.
* AscendedFangirl: Ran began to idolize Ahakon after witnessing him aid in Alucard's defeat, and is a friend of his from Act V onwards.
* AssholeVictim[=/=]KickTheSonOfABitch:
** The wizard who originally summoned Dark and forced him to kill Arial. When a guy has no qualms against [[WouldHurtAChild doing something]] that [[EvenEvilHasStandards even the most vile demons of Hell find despicable]], you ''know'' he had it coming when Dark turns on him and brutally murders him in a rage.
** In Act I chapter 14, no one regrets the death of Ghaldin, particularly since he forced the Ezrana twins, as well as Rason and Dark, to try to kill Tsukune's posse while explicitly stating that Apoch and Astreal are nothing but his slaves for him to use as he wishes.
** Later, in Act I chapter 16, when Dark overhears that Kotsubo tried to molest Mizore the previous year, he loses his temper and nearly kills him, and is only stopped by Tsukune and Rason's insistence that Kotsubo [[NotWorthKilling isn't worth it]].
** In Act II, when they discover that Miyabi raped Mizore, Dark is so furious that he attacks Miyabi and kills him in the slowest and most brutal manner possible; despite being horrified at Dark's brutality, Tsukune and the others nonetheless have NoSympathy for Miyabi and unanimously agree that he deserved every second of it.
** In Act III, Kano repeatedly blackmails the girls of the group into letting him take dirty pictures of them, and then ultimately decides to try to rape them. Cue KarmicDeath in chapter 31 when Luna uses her magic to stop time and then bites off the back of his head just as he's about to force himself on Mizore.
** In Act IV chapter 28, Jovian and Jacqueline are killed by Apoch and Astreal. Considering that they had previously raped Felucia and Kyouko and reduced a good portion of Tsukune's hometown to rubble, they ''definitely'' had it coming, with Ahakon and Yukari in particular openly rejoicing their deaths.
** After everything Hokuto has done, including kidnapping and brainwashing Felucia, setting Kuyou loose on Yokai Academy, letting Jovian and Jacqueline rape and torture Felucia to the point of SanitySlippage, holding Tsukune's family hostage, and being indirectly responsible for the deaths of Felucia, Kenzo's gang, and the original Ezrana sisters, the entire gang cheers Tsukune on as he beats the ever-loving shit out of Hokuto and kills him in Act IV chapter 31.
** After all of the horrible atrocities she's committed, including wiping out her entire species and razing a human city to the ground, no one has any sympathy to spare for Evil!Falla both times she dies.
** Early on in Act VI, Ceal kills Jenner, head of the [=HDA=]. It's pretty hard to feel sorry for Jenner when one considers that he was an openly [[FantasticRacism anti-monster]] GeneralRipper who has spent most of his screen-time lambasting monsters to the extent that he outright states he'll take any possible excuse he can to declare open war on them.
** In Act VI chapter 17, Kurumu sides with Mizore after Mizore beats Arial to a bloody pulp, stating that, even if Arial is a disembodied soul and any fatal damage will destroy her soul and erase her from existence, Arial nonetheless deserved it considering the fact that she nearly killed Mizore in a fit of jealousy and stole her wedding ring.
** In Act VI chapters 24 and 25, Rathieal is noted to have regularly tortured the Otonashi sisters with their {{Slave Collar}}s ForTheEvulz, and spends his entire fight with Gabriel gloating about the sexual abuse Luna suffered in Babylon's captivity. Needless to say, it's ''incredibly'' difficult ''not'' to cheer when he's obliterated by Astreal's Artimus Arrow along with the rylo.
* TheAtoner:
** Dark's entire motivation is to atone for the lives he was forced to take while working for first his former master, and then Fairy Tale.
** In Act III, because she was responsible for the ghoul managing to get enough power to hijack Tsukune's body completely, Kokoa swears fealty to Tsukune in atonement.
** After regaining her memories, Falla seeks to atone for her own crimes.
** In Act IV, Akua and Kahlua also seek to make up for what they did while working for Fairy Tale.
* AttemptedRape:
** In the past, Rason saved Luna from being raped by a male human.
** In Act III chapter 31, after forcing the girls into several pornographic picture sessions, Kano decides to have his way with them, starting with Mizore. However, Luna uses her magic to break herself and the others free, and then eats the entire back half of Kano's head.

** In the flashback in Act IV chapter 29, Kenzo mentions that Felucia has a short attention span; Felucia proves him right by drifting off and absently looking out the window while he's talking to her.

* AttentionWhore: Mizore's first impression of Felucia Sonsta is that she's "a tramp who just barges in and demands all the attention from everybody around her."
* AwfulTruth: Throughout the first handful of chapters in Act VI, Mizore and the others try to keep Dark from discovering that Arial, whom he had long honored and looked up to as his guardian angel, is really a stubborn, hot-tempered {{Yandere}} who is obsessed with him to the point that she very nearly killed Mizore in a jealous rage and stole Mizore's wedding ring right off of her finger. They ultimately have no choice but to tell Dark the truth after Mizore and Arial have a DesignatedGirlFight that ends with Mizore beating Arial to an inch of her life right in front of him, and Dark has a ''major'' HeroicBSOD. The chapter in which he finds out is fittingly titled "Painful Truth."
* AwesomeButImpractical:
** Kokoa's overcharge grants her enough power to go toe-to-toe with Inner Moka, but even the slightest attack completely depletes her energy, and if she doesn't use it up, it can lead to a SuperpowerMeltdown.
** The Artimus Arrow spell, as seen in Act VI, is powerful enough to [[OneHitKill one-shot]] a NighInvulnerable rylo demon, but draws so much power from the magical ether that, according to Yukari and Ruby, if they even tried to hold it, the power behind it would cause their bodies to literally ''explode''.
* AxCrazy[=/=]InsaneEqualsViolent:
** Tsukune's ghoul form counts to a T. In Act III chapter 52, when unleashed, he proceeds to brutally dismember and disembowel Kiria with his bare hands, [[EvilLaugh laughing]] [[PutTheLaughterInSlaughter while he does it]].
** Jovian and Jacqueline also qualify, particularly the originals who served Hokuto. In Act III chapter 52, when Hokuto warns Felucia that Jovian will kill Ruby and Tsukune if Felucia won't hold them back, Jovian gleefully cheers that she loves killing. During their major fights in Acts IV and V, they deliberately go above and beyond to kill as many innocent people and cause as much collateral damage as possible simply, in their words, "[[ForTheEvulz because it's fun]]." The resummoned Jovian and Jacqueline in Act VI are considerably more mellow.
** Hokuto has shades of this, though he maintains his MaskOfSanity throughout. He has absolutely zero qualms against resorting to extreme violence to further his plans, such as manipulating Kuyou into attacking Yokai Academy and personally ordering Jovian and Jacqueline to cause as much destruction and death in Tsukune's hometown as possible in an effort to prove to Moka that human/monster co-existence is impossible; in both cases, he takes time out from his plans to watch the results with a PsychoticSmirk on his face.
** Arial often comes across as this in Act VI, in part due to her HairTriggerTemper and obsession with Dark; in chapter 7, the ''very'' first thing she does as soon as she discovers that Mizore is Dark's girlfriend is use her ice claws to literally tear Mizore apart in a jealous rage ''right in front of everybody''; by the end, Mizore is so horrifically injured that Ceal has to transfer organic matter from deceased [=HDA=] officers to actually heal her. The others even outright describe her as insane on more than one occasion.
** Even without chrono dementia, Evil!Falla is a sadistic, sociopathic bitch who can slaughter people by the handful without hesitation, while laughing about it.
** While Kokoa has always had a HairTriggerTemper, she dips into AxCrazy during Act VI chapter 44, becoming so enraged at Sun for hounding Gin that she punches her through a wall, chases Felucia and Sun through the Huangs' villa while attacking them in a blind rage, and finally has to be chained up by her friends while she growls and snaps at them like a vicious dog.
** While Dark is generally composed and calm, he can dip into this when suitably enraged. If he should ever reach that point, ''don't'' expect the offending party's corpse to look pretty by the time he's through. A prime example is with Miyabi Fujisaki, who [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil took Mizore's virginity]] and [[PostRapeTaunt gloated about it to Dark's face]] during Act II; Dark's subsequent killing of Miyabi[[note]]He, in this order, crushed the bones in Miyabi's arms and legs to powder before ripping said arms and legs clean off, punched him in the face so hard that his jawbone snapped clean off, and finally ripped his spinal cord out, all with his bare hands[[/note]] is so over-the-top that despite agreeing that Miyabi deserved every second of it, Tsukune and co. are still genuinely horrified at Dark's brutality.
** As revealed in Act VI chapter 52, the Fairy Tale-created EvilKnockoff of Moka is little more than a savage animal. As stated by Xia-Long in Act VII chapter 3, the ''only'' way to stop said EvilKnockoff once she has her sights set on someone is to "give her someone else to kill instead of you."
* BabyFactory: In Acts V and VI, this is Babylon's plan for Luna and Falla: to capture them and have them raped by his henchmen to breed more chronoflies for his army. The Otonashi sisters state that he's done this before with other endangered species.
* BackFromTheDead[=/=]DeathIsCheap: Several examples:
** In Act II, Kurumu is killed by duplicates of Apoch and Astreal under Fairy Tale's control, but Rason manages to convince the Almighty and the Lord of Hell to bring her back to life.
** Both Dark and the Ezrana sisters have been killed, but return to life typically by being resummoned.
** In the climax of Act III, everyone in the group except for Tsukune himself dies during the assault on Kiria's stronghold, but Tsukune uses the Chrono Displacement spell to reverse time by a day and prevent their deaths.
** In Act V, after being rejected by a mind-controlled Rason, Kurumu literally [[DeathByDespair dies of a broken heart]], but a quick GetAholdOfYourselfMan from the Lord of Hell down below snaps her out of her funk and convinces her to [[EscapedFromHell go back]].
** In Act VI, Akasha is resurrected by the Almighty as part of a RedemptionQuest, though she herself is unaware that she has been truly brought back until Hex informs her as such in chapter 51.
* BadBoss:
** In his short appearance in Act I, Ghaldin physically abuses the Ezrana sisters and declares them to be nothing more than his slaves and weapons for him to use as he pleases. Small wonder why they ran away from him.
** Fairy Tale has several examples of this:
*** As shown in Act VI, many of Gyokuro's subordinates are scared of her and try to avoid crossing her in any way. Justified when one considers the enormous power she possesses.
*** In Act VII, immediately after revealing to a scientist that Kurumu's EvilKnockoff "feeds on the life force of men," Xia-Long promptly steps back and watches as said EvilKnockoff pounces on the aforementioned scientist and subjects him to a VampiricDraining DeathBySex, nonchalantly commenting on how many other "peons" they've had to feed to her. Mere seconds later, when Moka's knockoff, having been established as a NighInvulnerable AxCrazy beast, breaks free from her restraints, Xia-Long again jumps to safety while she attacks a {{mook}} that he was talking to and rips him to shreds.
*** The CloneArmy of Apoch and Astreal that Fairy Tale created back in Act II suffered so much abuse at their hands that they eventually snapped and turned on them en masse.
*** Kiria has quite the disregard for his own troops. In Act II chapter 25, he deliberately stands by and watches as Dark fights and kills Miyabi, even personally helping Dark by giving him a sword while deeming Miyabi's death a "necessary sacrifice." Furthermore, a significant chunk of his plan in Act III involves infecting most of his troops with Blackheart, a PsychoSerum that drives those who take it insane and kills them after one hour.
* TheBadGuyWins: During the climax of Act IV, Hokuto, as part of his plan, deliberately breaks TheMasquerade to the entire human world in order to prove to Moka that humans and monsters could never possibly co-exist. It takes some time, but soon the entire human world becomes afraid of monsters. Ultimately subverted by the end of Act VI.
* BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad: Evil!Falla appears to run on this mentality. She's firmly convinced that, as a power-hungry warmonger, she deserved to be the queen more than Luna, whom she outright criticized and viewed as unworthy to have the crown for being a NiceGirl. In Act IV chapter 13, after successfully tricking Luna into restoring her magic, Falla openly complains about all the "nice crap" she had to do/endure just to get Luna to cooperate.
* {{Badass}}: Several examples, but most notably Dark; in Act I chapter 20, he has a sparring match with Inner Moka in order to prove a point to Kokoa, and it's more-or-less outright stated that Inner Moka only beat him because [[ILetYouWin Dark was]] ''[[ILetYouWin trying]]'' [[ILetYouWin to lose]].
* BadassBoast:
** In Act II chapter 25, after brutally tearing Miyabi to pieces, Dark gives out one as he rips out his spinal cord to finish him off:

While she does lose some of her bravado when Kuyou draws his sword and comes after ''her'', just the simple fact that she's willing to stand up to an anti-human KnightTemplar who needs ''very'' little provocation to [[PlayingWithFire reduce humans and monsters alike]] [[KillItWithFire to smoldering piles of ash]] in the first place qualifies her for this.
* BaitAndSwitch: In Act III chapter 11, when the rest of the group are outside of Tsukune's room reacting in shock, Moka initially assumes that they're referring to Tsukune's cracked Holy Lock and responds in kind... until she walks into the room and sees they were actually shocked at the sight of Kokoa pinning Tsukune down and raping him.
* BaitAndSwitchComment: In Act VI chapter 36, when Apoch and Astreal are about to attack Kurumu and Yukari for [[ItMakesSenseInContext fondling their breasts to see which sister's were bigger]] rather than using a tape measurer that was near them the entire time, Razico tells them to "hold it," seemingly intending to stop the fight. Instead, he points out that the gang's little squabbles have already caused Fang Fang enough property damage, and orders them to take it outside.
* BaitAndSwitchGunshot: In Act III chapter 51, after Ruby returns from destroying the Chrono Displacement spell, we hear a gunshot and it's initially assumed that she was shot by a Fairy Tale operative like in the original timeline. As it turns out, Dark saw the operative coming and shot ''him'' first.
* BareHandedBladeBlock:
** In Act III chapter 41, Dark pulls one off against Kuyou, and then breaks the sword with his bare hands.
** In Act III chapter 52, Ghoul!Tsukune pulls one off on Kiria's SinisterScythe arm before ripping said arm clean off.
** In Act IV chapter 31, Tsukune blocks ''two'' of Hokuto's scythes as such before jerking him forward and kneeing him in the face.
* BareYourMidriff: Astreal takes to wearing a belly-bearing tank top from the end of Act IV onwards.
* BaseballEpisode: In Act VI chapter 52, with the knowledge that Complica will shortly perish as a result of the Chrono Displacement spell, the entire group rigs up a big baseball game and stadium for her to have fun in her last moments, knowing that Complica is a baseball fan.
* BatmanGambit:
** Tsukune's inner ghoul combines this with LoveMakesYouDumb in Act II; by exploiting Kokoa's newfound feelings for Tsukune, it successfully manipulates her into giving it enough power from her [[SuperMode overcharge]] to become a full-fledged ghoul and take over Tsukune's body completely, and Kokoa is too blinded by said feelings for Tsukune to notice anything suspicious until it's too late.
** In Act III, Hokuto's plan to use Kuyou as a distraction while he steals the ArtifactOfDoom he needs for his plans from Yokai Academy's archives hinged solely on Kuyou's desire for revenge on Tsukune. It works like a charm.
** In Act III chapter 13, with the revelation that Tsukune's Holy Lock is cracking, Dark claims that he's only keeping Tsukune alive so that Kokoa can atone for her actions and regain her vampire pride, after which he'll kill him to prevent the ghoul from surfacing. However, as Mizore and Felucia explain, if Dark hadn't mentioned Kokoa's debt to Tsukune and act like it was still safe, the headmaster would have had Tsukune killed, knowing that Dark would be the first to kill Tsukune if the ghoul posed any threat; in doing so, Dark has bought the group time to find a way to repair the lock.
* BatterUp: In Act V chapter 37, Kyouko deals the finishing blow to the evil Falla by beating her to a pulp with a baseball bat.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor:
** In Act III chapter 40, after being forced to kiss Jovian in exchange for her repairing Tsukune's Holy Lock, Astreal remarks that she'd rather die than do that again. Kuyou makes his entrance at that very moment and, having overheard Astreal say that, [[KillItWithFire burns her alive]] for the hell of it.
** In Act III chapter 44, the headmaster confesses that all along, he had planned to shape Tsukune and co. into their soldiers against Fairy Tale, but states that, since Tsukune's Holy Lock has only one link left before it breaks, he shouldn't fight anymore. Dark promptly gets in his face, tells him that they're his soldiers against Fairy Tale now just like he wanted, and makes it clear that Tsukune ''will'' continue to fight with them whether the headmaster likes it or not.
** Throughout Act III, Kiria had hoped to unleash Tsukune's ghoul form for his plans. In the final chapter of Act III, Tsukune, about to die anyway as a result of the cost of using Chrono Displacement, deliberately removes the Holy Lock and unleashes the ghoul, which promptly tears Kiria apart.

Ruby in particular is completely disgusted with herself for ever having trusted him.
** Dark always lived his life in honor of Arial, who granted him his freedom before she died, while Mizore often gave thanks to Arial at night as well. He ''knows'' they're a threat, but with his blackmail and the group's current shaky situation in the school, he's convinced they can't touch him... until Luna bites off the back of his skull at the end of Act III chapter 31.
** Throughout most of Act III, most of the other students openly taunt and harass the gang, believing that the stories about the group fighting Fairy Tale are nothing but a ploy for attention. Even if that ''was'' true, the students have apparently forgotten that Tsukune and his UnwantedHarem are the same monsters who defeated Kuyou and the Security Committee and put an end to their tyranny over the school, as well as the fact that Dark alone has hospitalized several bullies that made the near-fatal mistake of messing with him.
** In Act IV chapter 2, Yukari bluntly calls Kahlua a moron, and quickly learns just ''[[UnstoppableRage why]]'' it's a bad idea to [[BerserkerTears make Kahlua cry]].
** In Acts IV and V, several of the other male students try to hit on Moka and the other girls despite full knowledge of who they're dating. It's even lampshaded how stupid this is.
** In Act VI chapter 42, upon discovering that Sun had spied on herself and Gin having sex earlier, Kokoa activates her [[SuperMode overcharge]] and angrily asks Sun why she just doesn't seem to get the point that Gin is ''her'' boyfriend now, to which Sun, uncaring that she's facing an incredibly pissed off vampire, flat-out tells Kokoa to her face that she doesn't deserve Gin at all; as a result, Kokoa attacks Sun in an UnstoppableRage and beats her into a coma.
** In Act VI chapter 45, Kurumu briefly teases Kokoa over having sex with Gin, forgetting for the moment that Sun did the same earlier and is lying in the infirmary brain-dead as a result; when Ran reminds her, Kurumu promptly takes it back.
* ButterflyOfDoom: In Act III, when Luna discovers that Rason is destined to die during the fight against Kiria, she promptly leaves to find a way to change his fate. Unfortunately, it's revealed in chapter 40 that Luna was supposed to be present in the original timeline during the fight against Kuyou, and save Astreal from death at Kuyou's hands; with Luna's departure, Kuyou torches Astreal with no effort. On top of it all, Falla, [[{{Jerkass}} heartless bitch]] that she is, ''knew'' that Astreal was doomed to die without Luna all along and deliberately neglected to inform Luna as such until it was too late.
* CainAndAbelAndSeth: Luna, Falla, and Complica originally had this dynamic, with Falla being the Cain to Luna and Complica's Abel and Seth. Now that Falla has been replaced with a far more benevolent AlternateSelf, it's been subverted.
* CallingTheOldManOut: In the first chapter of Act IV, Tsukune calls out Issa for his borderline abusive treatment of his daughters for their actions, making it clear that he's perfectly willing to fight Issa in their defense. Issa agrees to give Akua and Kahlua a chance at redemption as a result.
* CameBackStrong: After being seemingly killed by Hokuto during their fight in Act IV, Tsukune is revived as a full-fledged vampire by all four Shuzen sisters.
* CameBackWrong: In Act V chapter 29, Ceal recounts how his grandfather used Pandora's Box to bring his great-grandfather BackFromTheDead, only to discover the hard way that while Pandora can bring back the body, she can't [[SoullessShell bring back the soul]]. * CantActPervertedTowardALoveInterest: Gin starts to shape up in Act III after becoming Kokoa's boyfriend.
* CantLiveWithoutYou: In Act VI chapter 35, Jovian and Jacqueline explain that, due to the nature of their spell, they ''need'' to have a master to live, and if they do not have one, they will be cursed to die, with Death itself following them relentlessly until then. Apoch and Astreal are also cursed as such, but are unaware of it.

** In Act III chapter 23, the girls of the group call out Apoch and Astreal for their uncharacteristically harsh treatment of Yukari, stating that they can't just act like that. Apoch and Astreal's response? They scream at the others not to tell them what to do, and then blow up [[ImmortalLifeIsCheap Felucia]] with little-to-no provocation before lying to Ms. Nekonome to get the girls kicked out of class.
** Virtually every time someone tries to lecture Arial Kuyumaya about her HairTriggerTemper or her {{Jerkass}} behavior, she responds angrily and violently. For example, in Act VI chapter 44, after Mizore tells her that she's going to end up driving away what few friends she has unless she learns to control her temper, Arial responds by nailing Mizore in the forehead with an ice shard and screaming at her to "do [them] all a favor" and shut up.
* CardCarryingVillain: While she never outright identifies herself as evil, Evil!Falla fits the criteria in several ways. She openly criticized both of her sisters for being {{Nice Girl}}s, thought that being a power-hungry, bloodthirsty warmonger would make her a good queen, repeatedly compares those around her to [[PitifulWorms worms and bugs]], and, judging by her words to her GoodCounterpart in Act V chapter 37, actually seems ''proud'' of having killed her own family and entire species.

** In Act I, when Rason theorizes to Mizore that Tsukune hasn't chosen which one of the girls he wants to be with because he doesn't want to compromise his friendship with the other three, Mizore dismisses him until Tsukune confirms it himself.
** In Act II, Ageha is understandably skeptical of Tsukune and co.'s claims that Rason is Kurumu's Destined One and that she was killed and brought BackFromTheDead until Kurumu, having regained her memories, confirms it herself.
** In Act III, most of the other students don't believe the stories that Tsukune and his friends beat several Fairy Tale squadrons until they witness the gang fight off Kuyou and then an entire Fairy Tale squadron firsthand.

** In Act III chapter 12, after the other gang catches Kokoa, under the influence of a ghoul infection, in the midst of raping Tsukune, Moka blows her stack and starts viciously attacking Kokoa. It isn't until Kokoa begs to be killed before the ghoul infection [[SplitPersonalityTakeover takes over completely]], only for said infection to do so and beat Moka within an inch of her life, that Moka realizes that something really ''was'' wrong with Kokoa.
* CastFromLifespan: In Act VII chapter 1, it's revealed that for Complica, now a time-based anomaly, to tell someone the future, they have to give up some years of their life to do so; in order to find out if their universe will be destroyed since several others have, Akasha ends up trading ''thirty-six years'' of her remaining lifespan.

** In Act II chapter 33, Rason mentions that Kurumu had him bark like a dog while they were making love.
** Ruby and Razico's love sessions heavily involve Razico's magical chains.

** It was being forced to kill an innocent little girl that caused Dark to turn on his former master.
** In Act IV, Tsukune and co. manage to earn the public's trust by saving children from being killed by the collateral damage Jovian and Jacqueline are causing.

In Act III, when he discovers from the boys that Kano had been blackmailing the girls into letting him take all manner of dirty pictures of them, he's absolutely furious and personally hunts down said pictures and burns them. In an effort to get Luna to finish the spell and restore her magic, she fakes wanting to reform through several acts of kindness... and in chapter 11, as soon as Luna truly believes that Falla can change and restores her magic, Falla promptly bisects her in cold blood and then proceeds to rub it in the gang's faces that it was all an act.
* ClingyJealousGirl: In Act III, Apoch and Astreal become this to Ahakon, to the extent that they try to isolate him from Yukari completely and actually try to kill her no less than twice; after the second attempt, which nearly got Ahakon himself killed, Ahakon dumps them for Yukari, partially because of their violent actions, partially because of his own growing feelings for Yukari, and partially because he felt guilty that they were both sharing him. On top of it all, Ruby, being Apoch and Astreal's boss, explicitly forbids them from having any more boyfriends for a while, stating that their actions prove that they're not ready for such a thing yet.
* ClipItsWings:
** In Act III chapter 44, Rason gets shot in the wings while fighting off Fairy Tale. The wings, thanks to Yukari and Ruby's healing, are better by the next day.
** In Act IV chapter 11, Kurumu rips off Falla's wings during their fight.
** In Act V chapter 35, to get back at Good!Falla for killing her, Evil!Falla rips off her {{Good Counterpart}}'s wings, piece by piece; Ceal subsequently uses his HealingHands to reattach the wings, as well as the arm and leg that Evil!Falla also ripped off.

** In Act III chapter 13, when it's discovered that the ghoul inside Tsukune had infected Kokoa with its essence, which caused her to rape Tsukune against her will, Felucia is more concerned over where having Kokoa rape Tsukune fits in with the ghoul's EvilPlan than anything else. Ahakon even asks her why that's the only detail she can focus on; in Felucia's defense, however, she ''does'' admit that it was a stupid question.
** In Act V chapter 23, with Yokai Academy's festival ruined and several students dead as a result of Tsukune's bloodlust-fuelled rampage, Rin's primary concern is that the fireworks show has been cancelled. When the others point this out, Ran explains that they've [[SeenItAll seen far worse]] while enslaved to Babylon.
* CompetitionFreak: Dark has shades of this, as he tends to take sports games quite seriously. In Act I, during a gym class game of dodgeball, he hits his ''own teammates'' with the ball just to get a shot at Tsukune, and in Act VI chapter 52, during the big baseball game the gang rigs up for Complica, he actually tries to hit people with the ball when up at bat. It's downplayed, as part of it is because he "doesn't get human games" by his own admission.

** As a result of Pandora's JackassGenie tendencies, Fafnir cannot be killed at all, except by Ceal's hands.
** Moka's clone, as revealed in Act VI chapter 52. As the scientists explain to Gyokuro, they tried killing her via [[ShotAtDawn firing squad]], [[OffWithHisHead decapitation]], [[KillItWithFire burning]], [[KillItWithIce freezing]], and everything else, and the clone survived ''every single one''.
* ComplexityAddiction: During the early parts of Act I, Apoch and Astreal go through elaborate schemes to test the group's power, and ultimately brainwash Rason and Dark, in order to be free of their master Ghaldin; the brainwashing attempt backfires when the sisters' inexperience with mind control spells allows Ghaldin to take control of all four of them. When all is said and done and Ghaldin is killed by Inner Moka, Tsukune flat-out tells the sisters that [[CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot he and his friends would have helped them willingly from the start if they had simply]] ''[[CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot asked]]''.
* ConditionedToAcceptHorror: Ran, Rin and Ren. By their own admission in Act V chapter 20, they've witnessed so many horrible things while enslaved to Babylon that Tsukune's bloodlust-fuelled rampage through the school festival, which has left the school grounds covered with corpses, doesn't even faze them.
* ContinuationFic: Of the ''Manga/RosarioToVampire'' anime. It actually seems to adapt the parts of the manga that the anime [[CutShort doesn't cover]].

** The fic does away with the sympathetic backstory that Alucard had in canon completely. When Kokoa loses the pact, and subsequently realizes that Tsukune ''only'' loves Moka and what she would have taken from him had she won, she finally seems to learn her lesson, and this time, it actually sticks.

** For all of his BlueAndOrangeMorality, Hex is quite pleasant and polite, and doesn't particularly care if he loses at his game; it's all a part of luck, after all.
** Jovian and Jacqueline often act polite and sweet, even managing to earn the trust of Kyouko and Tsukune's mom by acting as such. However, Moka and Akasha's efforts in Act VI with their director, who is actually not so black-and-white, seem to be making some progress.

To further drive the nail in, Kiria's plan was [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption doomed to fail from the start]], as if Tsukune and the others had fallen, [[TimeMaster Luna]] would have killed Kiria herself and then [[SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum let the Chrono Displacement spell go critical and destroy everything in a fit of madness]].
** During the final chapters of Act V, the actions of Babylon's minions lead the [=HDA=] to declare war on monsters, leading them to arrest and quarantine any monster they can find and drive the dark lords out of the human world. After some events, however, they realize by Act VI chapter 52 that their efforts were in vain; Babylon had been targeting the monster world all along, and the humans were unfortunate enough to get caught in the crossfire.

** As noted by Apoch and Astreal in Act I chapter 11, the vast majority of the boys at Yokai Academy are perverts, bullies, or both.

It also works in a positive way, as Tsukune and the guys, while under their control, are able to hear the siren sisters praying to the Almighty for their freedom from their master Babylon, and for forgiveness for being forced to do his bidding, which is what motivates them to help free the trio from Babylon's control.
** In Act V chapter 35, it's stated that the brainwashed Apoch and Astreal are fully conscious of their actions and can do nothing but watch as they're forced to fight their friends against their will.

** In Act II, Dark finishes off Miyabi by ripping his spine out of his body.
** In the final chapter of Act III, Ghoul!Tsukune rips several of Kiria's organs out with his bare hands.
* AndThenWhat: When Moka kills their master, thus freeing them, Apoch and Astreal admit that they never really thought about what they would do with their lives after getting their freedom. Ruby solves the problem by making them her assistants.

** Talon Ryashen is a Type I or II. He's hunting down everyone who was ever associated with Fairy Tale in any way, regardless of whether or not they defected or were even aware of the organization's true agenda. However, as he puts it, they turned him into a monster and took everything from him, and thus, he pretty much has nothing left to live for but revenge.
** Jovian and Jacqueline Kikion. As they explain in Act VI, they're not naturally good or evil on their own; rather, their morality is shaped to match their master's at the time. The original Kikions served Hokuto, who was a StrawNihilist seeking to bring about TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt, so they themselves became {{sadist}}ic {{Psycho Lesbian}}s who take their time to rape Felucia and Kyouko while holding them hostage. ** In Act VI chapter 17, Kurumu sides with Mizore after Mizore beats Arial to a bloody pulp, stating that, even if Arial is a disembodied soul and any fatal damage will destroy her soul and erase her from existence, Arial nonetheless deserved it considering the fact that she nearly killed Mizore in a fit of jealousy and stole her wedding ring.
** In Act VI chapters 24 and 25, Rathieal is noted to have regularly tortured the Otonashi sisters with their {{Slave Collar}}s ForTheEvulz, and spends his entire fight with Gabriel gloating about the sexual abuse Luna suffered in Babylon's captivity. Needless to say, it's ''incredibly'' difficult ''not'' to cheer when he's obliterated by Astreal's Artimus Arrow along with the rylo.

** Dark's entire motivation is to atone for the lives he was forced to take while working for first his former master, and then Fairy Tale.

* AwfulTruth: Throughout the first handful of chapters in Act VI, Mizore and the others try to keep Dark from discovering that Arial, whom he had long honored and looked up to as his guardian angel, is really a stubborn, hot-tempered {{Yandere}} who is obsessed with him to the point that she very nearly killed Mizore in a jealous rage and stole Mizore's wedding ring right off of her finger. They ultimately have no choice but to tell Dark the truth after Mizore and Arial have a DesignatedGirlFight that ends with Mizore beating Arial to an inch of her life right in front of him, and Dark has a ''major'' HeroicBSOD. The chapter in which he finds out is fittingly titled "Painful Truth."

** Kokoa's overcharge grants her enough power to go toe-to-toe with Inner Moka, but even the slightest attack completely depletes her energy, and if she doesn't use it up, it can lead to a SuperpowerMeltdown.
** The Artimus Arrow spell, as seen in Act VI, is powerful enough to [[OneHitKill one-shot]] a NighInvulnerable rylo demon, but draws so much power from the magical ether that, according to Yukari and Ruby, if they even tried to hold it, the power behind it would cause their bodies to literally ''explode''.
* AxCrazy[=/=]InsaneEqualsViolent:
** Tsukune's ghoul form counts to a T. In Act III chapter 52, when unleashed, he proceeds to brutally dismember and disembowel Kiria with his bare hands, [[EvilLaugh laughing]] [[PutTheLaughterInSlaughter while he does it]].
** Jovian and Jacqueline also qualify, particularly the originals who served Hokuto. In Act III chapter 52, when Hokuto warns Felucia that Jovian will kill Ruby and Tsukune if Felucia won't hold them back, Jovian gleefully cheers that she loves killing. During their major fights in Acts IV and V, they deliberately go above and beyond to kill as many innocent people and cause as much collateral damage as possible simply, in their words, "[[ForTheEvulz because it's fun]]." The resummoned Jovian and Jacqueline in Act VI are considerably more mellow.
** Hokuto has shades of this, though he maintains his MaskOfSanity throughout. He has absolutely zero qualms against resorting to extreme violence to further his plans, such as manipulating Kuyou into attacking Yokai Academy and personally ordering Jovian and Jacqueline to cause as much destruction and death in Tsukune's hometown as possible in an effort to prove to Moka that human/monster co-existence is impossible; in both cases, he takes time out from his plans to watch the results with a PsychoticSmirk on his face.
** Arial often comes across as this in Act VI, in part due to her HairTriggerTemper and obsession with Dark; in chapter 7, the ''very'' first thing she does as soon as she discovers that Mizore is Dark's girlfriend is use her ice claws to literally tear Mizore apart in a jealous rage ''right in front of everybody''; by the end, Mizore is so horrifically injured that Ceal has to transfer organic matter from deceased [=HDA=] officers to actually heal her. The others even outright describe her as insane on more than one occasion.
** Even without chrono dementia, Evil!Falla is a sadistic, sociopathic bitch who can slaughter people by the handful without hesitation, while laughing about it.
** While Kokoa has always had a HairTriggerTemper, she dips into AxCrazy during Act VI chapter 44, becoming so enraged at Sun for hounding Gin that she punches her through a wall, chases Felucia and Sun through the Huangs' villa while attacking them in a blind rage, and finally has to be chained up by her friends while she growls and snaps at them like a vicious dog.
** While Dark is generally composed and calm, he can dip into this when suitably enraged. If he should ever reach that point, ''don't'' expect the offending party's corpse to look pretty by the time he's through. A prime example is with Miyabi Fujisaki, who [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil took Mizore's virginity]] and [[PostRapeTaunt gloated about it to Dark's face]] during Act II; Dark's subsequent killing of Miyabi[[note]]He, in this order, crushed the bones in Miyabi's arms and legs to powder before ripping said arms and legs clean off, punched him in the face so hard that his jawbone snapped clean off, and finally ripped his spinal cord out, all with his bare hands[[/note]] is so over-the-top that despite agreeing that Miyabi deserved every second of it, Tsukune and co. are still genuinely horrified at Dark's brutality.
** As revealed in Act VI chapter 52, the Fairy Tale-created EvilKnockoff of Moka is little more than a savage animal. As stated by Xia-Long in Act VII chapter 3, the ''only'' way to stop said EvilKnockoff once she has her sights set on someone is to "give her someone else to kill instead of you."
* BabyFactory: In Acts V and VI, this is Babylon's plan for Luna and Falla: to capture them and have them raped by his henchmen to breed more chronoflies for his army. The Otonashi sisters state that he's done this before with other endangered species.
* BackFromTheDead[=/=]DeathIsCheap: Several examples:
** In Act II, Kurumu is killed by duplicates of Apoch and Astreal under Fairy Tale's control, but Rason manages to convince the Almighty and the Lord of Hell to bring her back to life.
** Both Dark and the Ezrana sisters have been killed, but return to life typically by being resummoned.
** In the climax of Act III, everyone in the group except for Tsukune himself dies during the assault on Kiria's stronghold, but Tsukune uses the Chrono Displacement spell to reverse time by a day and prevent their deaths.
** In Act V, after being rejected by a mind-controlled Rason, Kurumu literally [[DeathByDespair dies of a broken heart]], but a quick GetAholdOfYourselfMan from the Lord of Hell down below snaps her out of her funk and convinces her to [[EscapedFromHell go back]].
** In Act VI, Akasha is resurrected by the Almighty as part of a RedemptionQuest, though she herself is unaware that she has been truly brought back until Hex informs her as such in chapter 51.

** In his short appearance in Act I, Ghaldin physically abuses the Ezrana sisters and declares them to be nothing more than his slaves and weapons for him to use as he pleases. Small wonder why they ran away from him.
** Fairy Tale has several examples of this:
*** As shown in Act VI, many of Gyokuro's subordinates are scared of her and try to avoid crossing her in any way. Justified when one considers the enormous power she possesses.
*** In Act VII, immediately after revealing to a scientist that Kurumu's EvilKnockoff "feeds on the life force of men," Xia-Long promptly steps back and watches as said EvilKnockoff pounces on the aforementioned scientist and subjects him to a VampiricDraining DeathBySex, nonchalantly commenting on how many other "peons" they've had to feed to her. Mere seconds later, when Moka's knockoff, having been established as a NighInvulnerable AxCrazy beast, breaks free from her restraints, Xia-Long again jumps to safety while she attacks a {{mook}} that he was talking to and rips him to shreds.
*** The CloneArmy of Apoch and Astreal that Fairy Tale created back in Act II suffered so much abuse at their hands that they eventually snapped and turned on them en masse.
*** Kiria has quite the disregard for his own troops. In Act II chapter 25, he deliberately stands by and watches as Dark fights and kills Miyabi, even personally helping Dark by giving him a sword while deeming Miyabi's death a "necessary sacrifice." Furthermore, a significant chunk of his plan in Act III involves infecting most of his troops with Blackheart, a PsychoSerum that drives those who take it insane and kills them after one hour.
* TheBadGuyWins: During the climax of Act IV, Hokuto, as part of his plan, deliberately breaks TheMasquerade to the entire human world in order to prove to Moka that humans and monsters could never possibly co-exist. It takes some time, but soon the entire human world becomes afraid of monsters. Ultimately subverted by the end of Act VI.
* BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad: Evil!Falla appears to run on this mentality. She's firmly convinced that, as a power-hungry warmonger, she deserved to be the queen more than Luna, whom she outright criticized and viewed as unworthy to have the crown for being a NiceGirl. In Act IV chapter 13, after successfully tricking Luna into restoring her magic, Falla openly complains about all the "nice crap" she had to do/endure just to get Luna to cooperate.
* {{Badass}}: Several examples, but most notably Dark; in Act I chapter 20, he has a sparring match with Inner Moka in order to prove a point to Kokoa, and it's more-or-less outright stated that Inner Moka only beat him because [[ILetYouWin Dark was]] ''[[ILetYouWin trying]]'' [[ILetYouWin to lose]].

** In Act II chapter 25, after brutally tearing Miyabi to pieces, Dark gives out one as he rips out his spinal cord to finish him off:

While she does lose some of her bravado when Kuyou draws his sword and comes after ''her'', just the simple fact that she's willing to stand up to an anti-human KnightTemplar who needs ''very'' little provocation to [[PlayingWithFire reduce humans and monsters alike]] [[KillItWithFire to smoldering piles of ash]] in the first place qualifies her for this.
* BaitAndSwitch: In Act III chapter 11, when the rest of the group are outside of Tsukune's room reacting in shock, Moka initially assumes that they're referring to Tsukune's cracked Holy Lock and responds in kind... until she walks into the room and sees they were actually shocked at the sight of Kokoa pinning Tsukune down and raping him.
* BaitAndSwitchComment: In Act VI chapter 36, when Apoch and Astreal are about to attack Kurumu and Yukari for [[ItMakesSenseInContext fondling their breasts to see which sister's were bigger]] rather than using a tape measurer that was near them the entire time, Razico tells them to "hold it," seemingly intending to stop the fight. Instead, he points out that the gang's little squabbles have already caused Fang Fang enough property damage, and orders them to take it outside.
* BaitAndSwitchGunshot: In Act III chapter 51, after Ruby returns from destroying the Chrono Displacement spell, we hear a gunshot and it's initially assumed that she was shot by a Fairy Tale operative like in the original timeline. As it turns out, Dark saw the operative coming and shot ''him'' first.

** In Act III chapter 41, Dark pulls one off against Kuyou, and then breaks the sword with his bare hands.
** In Act III chapter 52, Ghoul!Tsukune pulls one off on Kiria's SinisterScythe arm before ripping said arm clean off.

** Tsukune's inner ghoul combines this with LoveMakesYouDumb in Act II; by exploiting Kokoa's newfound feelings for Tsukune, it successfully manipulates her into giving it enough power from her [[SuperMode overcharge]] to become a full-fledged ghoul and take over Tsukune's body completely, and Kokoa is too blinded by said feelings for Tsukune to notice anything suspicious until it's too late.
** In Act III, Hokuto's plan to use Kuyou as a distraction while he steals the ArtifactOfDoom he needs for his plans from Yokai Academy's archives hinged solely on Kuyou's desire for revenge on Tsukune. It works like a charm.
** In Act III chapter 13, with the revelation that Tsukune's Holy Lock is cracking, Dark claims that he's only keeping Tsukune alive so that Kokoa can atone for her actions and regain her vampire pride, after which he'll kill him to prevent the ghoul from surfacing. However, as Mizore and Felucia explain, if Dark hadn't mentioned Kokoa's debt to Tsukune and act like it was still safe, the headmaster would have had Tsukune killed, knowing that Dark would be the first to kill Tsukune if the ghoul posed any threat; in doing so, Dark has bought the group time to find a way to repair the lock.
* BatterUp: In Act V chapter 37, Kyouko deals the finishing blow to the evil Falla by beating her to a pulp with a baseball bat.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor:
** In Act III chapter 40, after being forced to kiss Jovian in exchange for her repairing Tsukune's Holy Lock, Astreal remarks that she'd rather die than do that again. ** Throughout most of Act III, most of the other students openly taunt and harass the gang, believing that the stories about the group fighting Fairy Tale are nothing but a ploy for attention. Even if that ''was'' true, the students have apparently forgotten that Tsukune and his UnwantedHarem are the same monsters who defeated Kuyou and the Security Committee and put an end to their tyranny over the school, as well as the fact that Dark alone has hospitalized several bullies that made the near-fatal mistake of messing with him.
** In Act IV chapter 2, Yukari bluntly calls Kahlua a moron, and quickly learns just ''[[UnstoppableRage why]]'' it's a bad idea to [[BerserkerTears make Kahlua cry]].
** In Acts IV and V, several of the other male students try to hit on Moka and the other girls despite full knowledge of who they're dating. It's even lampshaded how stupid this is.
** In Act VI chapter 42, upon discovering that Sun had spied on herself and Gin having sex earlier, Kokoa activates her [[SuperMode overcharge]] and angrily asks Sun why she just doesn't seem to get the point that Gin is ''her'' boyfriend now, to which Sun, uncaring that she's facing an incredibly pissed off vampire, flat-out tells Kokoa to her face that she doesn't deserve Gin at all; as a result, Kokoa attacks Sun in an UnstoppableRage and beats her into a coma.
** In Act VI chapter 45, Kurumu briefly teases Kokoa over having sex with Gin, forgetting for the moment that Sun did the same earlier and is lying in the infirmary brain-dead as a result; when Ran reminds her, Kurumu promptly takes it back.
* ButterflyOfDoom: In Act III, when Luna discovers that Rason is destined to die during the fight against Kiria, she promptly leaves to find a way to change his fate. Unfortunately, it's revealed in chapter 40 that Luna was supposed to be present in the original timeline during the fight against Kuyou, and save Astreal from death at Kuyou's hands; with Luna's departure, Kuyou torches Astreal with no effort. On top of it all, Falla, [[{{Jerkass}} heartless bitch]] that she is, ''knew'' that Astreal was doomed to die without Luna all along and deliberately neglected to inform Luna as such until it was too late.
* CainAndAbelAndSeth: Luna, Falla, and Complica originally had this dynamic, with Falla being the Cain to Luna and Complica's Abel and Seth. Now that Falla has been replaced with a far more benevolent AlternateSelf, it's been subverted.
* CallingTheOldManOut: In the first chapter of Act IV, Tsukune calls out Issa for his borderline abusive treatment of his daughters for their actions, making it clear that he's perfectly willing to fight Issa in their defense. Issa agrees to give Akua and Kahlua a chance at redemption as a result.
* CameBackStrong: After being seemingly killed by Hokuto during their fight in Act IV, Tsukune is revived as a full-fledged vampire by all four Shuzen sisters.
* CameBackWrong: In Act V chapter 29, Ceal recounts how his grandfather used Pandora's Box to bring his great-grandfather BackFromTheDead, only to discover the hard way that while Pandora can bring back the body, she can't [[SoullessShell bring back the soul]]. Leon is not happy to discover this, as he apparently planned to use his wish to resurrect his [[TheLostLenore late girlfriend]] Selena.
* CantActPervertedTowardALoveInterest: Gin starts to shape up in Act III after becoming Kokoa's boyfriend.
* CantLiveWithoutYou: In Act VI chapter 35, Jovian and Jacqueline explain that, due to the nature of their spell, they ''need'' to have a master to live, and if they do not have one, they will be cursed to die, with Death itself following them relentlessly until then. Apoch and Astreal are also cursed as such, but are unaware of it.

** In Act III chapter 23, the girls of the group call out Apoch and Astreal for their uncharacteristically harsh treatment of Yukari, stating that they can't just act like that. Apoch and Astreal's response? They scream at the others not to tell them what to do, and then blow up [[ImmortalLifeIsCheap Felucia]] with little-to-no provocation before lying to Ms. Nekonome to get the girls kicked out of class.
** Virtually every time someone tries to lecture Arial Kuyumaya about her HairTriggerTemper or her {{Jerkass}} behavior, she responds angrily and violently. For example, in Act VI chapter 44, after Mizore tells her that she's going to end up driving away what few friends she has unless she learns to control her temper, Arial responds by nailing Mizore in the forehead with an ice shard and screaming at her to "do [them] all a favor" and shut up.
* CardCarryingVillain: While she never outright identifies herself as evil, Evil!Falla fits the criteria in several ways. She openly criticized both of her sisters for being {{Nice Girl}}s, thought that being a power-hungry, bloodthirsty warmonger would make her a good queen, repeatedly compares those around her to [[PitifulWorms worms and bugs]], and, judging by her words to her GoodCounterpart in Act V chapter 37, actually seems ''proud'' of having killed her own family and entire species.

** In Act I, when Rason theorizes to Mizore that Tsukune hasn't chosen which one of the girls he wants to be with because he doesn't want to compromise his friendship with the other three, Mizore dismisses him until Tsukune confirms it himself.
** In Act II, Ageha is understandably skeptical of Tsukune and co.'s claims that Rason is Kurumu's Destined One and that she was killed and brought BackFromTheDead until Kurumu, having regained her memories, confirms it herself.
** In Act III, most of the other students don't believe the stories that Tsukune and his friends beat several Fairy Tale squadrons until they witness the gang fight off Kuyou and then an entire Fairy Tale squadron firsthand.

* CastFromLifespan: In Act VII chapter 1, it's revealed that for Complica, now a time-based anomaly, to tell someone the future, they have to give up some years of their life to do so; in order to find out if their universe will be destroyed since several others have, Akasha ends up trading ''thirty-six years'' of her remaining lifespan.

** In Act II chapter 33, Rason mentions that Kurumu had him bark like a dog while they were making love.

* ClingyJealousGirl: In Act III, Apoch and Astreal become this to Ahakon, to the extent that they try to isolate him from Yukari completely and actually try to kill her no less than twice; after the second attempt, which nearly got Ahakon himself killed, Ahakon dumps them for Yukari, partially because of their violent actions, partially because of his own growing feelings for Yukari, and partially because he felt guilty that they were both sharing him. On top of it all, Ruby, being Apoch and Astreal's boss, explicitly forbids them from having any more boyfriends for a while, stating that their actions prove that they're not ready for such a thing yet.
* ClipItsWings:
** In Act III chapter 44, Rason gets shot in the wings while fighting off Fairy Tale. The wings, thanks to Yukari and Ruby's healing, are better by the next day.

* TheComicallySerious: Dark is constantly deadpan and typically has a blank expression on his face, but nonetheless has quite a few humorous scenes. For example, in Act IV chapter 29, when Akua is going crazy from Tsukune's aura and is [[BlackComedyRape dry-humping him in a public street]], Dark's only reaction to it is a completely deadpan "Well, this is awkward."

** In Act II chapter 41, when Kurumu regains her memories of Rason and confirms the CassandraTruth above, Ageha is initially more concerned with the fact that Kurumu lost her virginity to Rason instead of Tsukune rather than the fact that her daughter was recently ''murdered'' and brought BackFromTheDead.
** In Act III chapter 13, when it's discovered that the ghoul inside Tsukune had infected Kokoa with its essence, which caused her to rape Tsukune against her will, Felucia is more concerned over where having Kokoa rape Tsukune fits in with the ghoul's EvilPlan than anything else. Ahakon even asks her why that's the only detail she can focus on; in Felucia's defense, however, she ''does'' admit that it was a stupid question.
** In Act V chapter 23, with Yokai Academy's festival ruined and several students dead as a result of Tsukune's bloodlust-fuelled rampage, Rin's primary concern is that the fireworks show has been cancelled. When the others point this out, Ran explains that they've [[SeenItAll seen far worse]] while enslaved to Babylon.
* CompetitionFreak: Dark has shades of this, as he tends to take sports games quite seriously. In Act I, during a gym class game of dodgeball, he hits his ''own teammates'' with the ball just to get a shot at Tsukune, and in Act VI chapter 52, during the big baseball game the gang rigs up for Complica, he actually tries to hit people with the ball when up at bat. It's downplayed, as part of it is because he "doesn't get human games" by his own admission.
* CompleteImmortality:
** As a result of Pandora's JackassGenie tendencies, Fafnir cannot be killed at all, except by Ceal's hands.
** Moka's clone, as revealed in Act VI chapter 52. As the scientists explain to Gyokuro, they tried killing her via [[ShotAtDawn firing squad]], [[OffWithHisHead decapitation]], [[KillItWithFire burning]], [[KillItWithIce freezing]], and everything else, and the clone survived ''every single one''.
* ComplexityAddiction: During the early parts of Act I, Apoch and Astreal go through elaborate schemes to test the group's power, and ultimately brainwash Rason and Dark, in order to be free of their master Ghaldin; the brainwashing attempt backfires when the sisters' inexperience with mind control spells allows Ghaldin to take control of all four of them. When all is said and done and Ghaldin is killed by Inner Moka, Tsukune flat-out tells the sisters that [[CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot he and his friends would have helped them willingly from the start if they had simply]] ''[[CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot asked]]''.
* ConditionedToAcceptHorror: Ran, Rin and Ren. By their own admission in Act V chapter 20, they've witnessed so many horrible things while enslaved to Babylon that Tsukune's bloodlust-fuelled rampage through the school festival, which has left the school grounds covered with corpses, doesn't even faze them.
* ContinuationFic: Of the ''Manga/RosarioToVampire'' anime. It actually seems to adapt the parts of the manga that the anime [[CutShort doesn't cover]].
* ContrivedCoincidence: In Act V chapter 39, Moka and the others arrive at the destroyed human city shortly after Render, Leon, Apoch, Astreal, and Good!Falla's battle with Jovian, Jacqueline, and Evil!Falla has left the city in ruins; the [=HDA=] promptly uses this to blame the group for the destruction and place them under arrest. In Act VI chapter 10, after the group has escaped the [=HDA=] complex, Razico even notes that their arrival was bad timing.
* ConvenientTerminalIllness: During the final chapter of Act III, Tsukune, already about to die as a result of the cost of the Chrono Displacement spell, deliberately tears off the Holy Lock and unleashes the ghoul, which butchers Kiria. However, as the ghoul had its own mind and personality, it is destroyed instead, leaving Tsukune alive and free of its influence.

** In Act I chapter 4, Moka tries to give Mizore one... only to get an ElementalPunch to the gut for her trouble.

** In Act VI chapter 42, the Cii sisters reveal that their father's preferred method of punishing them was taking them out and spanking them right in front of the entire kingdom; Complica never got spanked, Luna got it once, but Falla was such a brat that, according to Complica, it happened to her ''every single day''.

** In Act I, Apoch and Astreal brainwash Rason and Dark in order to get them to help them fight off their master Ghaldin, but it backfires when Ghaldin arrives and takes control of all four of them. ** In Act VI chapters 42-44, tensions between Kokoa and Sun over Gin escalate to the point where Kokoa attacks Sun and ends up leaving her in a coma, essentially brain dead. Though he acknowledges that Kokoa is undoubtedly at fault, Gin also states that the whole mess could have been prevented if he had just been clearer with Sun and stopped her advances sooner.
* CoverBlowingSuperpower: In Act III chapter 41, Jovian uses {{Force Field}}s and {{Hand Blast}}s to deflect Kuyou's attacks and steer him towards the academy as part of Hokuto's plan. As Jovian had previously told them that she didn't know ''how'' to use such magic, Tsukune and Ruby are naturally suspicious and follow her to the academy's secured levels, where they discover that Hokuto and Jovian had been EvilAllAlong.

* CreatureHunterOrganization: The Human Defense Agency, founded in Act V in response to TheUnmasquedWorld, serves to protect humanity from evil monsters. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding, most members of the organization automatically assume that ''all'' monsters are bad. However, as of the end of Act VI, Moka and the others have won them over, and they are now allies of the group.
* CrowdPanic: In Act III chapter 41, the entire student body has this reaction when they discover that Kuyou has returned.

** The group's initial confrontation with Kiria in Act II chapter 26 goes badly until Tsukune unleashes [[SuperpoweredEvilSide the ghoul]].
