[[{{surprisingly sudden death}} Marcel was killed by a sniper]], Nad'a was shot in the back by the same sniper and became paralyzed from the waist down, Sadie suffered an epileptic seizure after seeing Marcel die, and Mona became severely injured after fighting the sniper.

* {{Hostage Situation}}: The freshman’s first mission was one thanks to the SRSIA taking 5 of the ESO’s agents hostage and only offering to negotiate with the freshman class. On their 3rd day no less. Things did not go as planned. Let’s just say there is a reason why freshman aren’t typically given these types of missions.

* {{Action Girl}}: The roleplay is filled with them.

* {{Alternate History}}
* {{Child Soldiers}}: While the students are training to become spies, not soldiers, they are trained in weaponry, agility, among other things, and go on missions given to them by the ESO.
* {{Code Names}}: Each student is given one.
* {{Cold Blooded Torture}}: Amy and Travis were subjected to this.
* {{Cool Train}}: The AEM, or the American—European Metro. The main metro station is located in New York City and every town that has a population count above 200,000 has a metro line that connects to the main metro. Thanks to advancements in technology, many of the metros that lead to and from certain countries in Europe are able to pass under the Atlantic.

* {{Darker and Edgier}}: The latest installment of the roleplay is darker than the previous ones.
* {{Elaborate University High}}: Evergreen is an elite academy for the spy intellect founded by the ESO. It is a {{boarding school}} located on an undisclosed island off the coast of England with a multitude of buildings on campus, as well as a small city on the island specifically for military families.
* {{Family Unfriendly Death}}: There have been a number of them already in the latest roleplay.
* {{Free Range Children}}: Averted. Each squad has an adult assigned as their leader and teacher.
* {{Government Agency Of Fiction}}: The European Spies Organization (ESO) and Soviet Russian Spy Intelligence Association (SRSIA).
* {{Heroes R Us}}: Evergreen is the second variety.
* {{Jumped At The Call}}: Most of the students did this, even the ones that didn’t even know what The Call was.
* {{Language Barrier}}: Generally this is averted thanks to the PDA and earpiece having a built in translator, but this still becomes a problem every now and again.
* {{Loads and Loads of Characters}}: There are well over twenty or thirty point-of-view characters in Incalescent. And that's not even counting the past roleplays.
* {{Multinational Team}}: The students in each squad come from all around the world.
* {{Mysterious Note}}: How the students are recruited.

* {{Loads and Loads of Characters}}: There are well over twenty or thirty point-of-view characters in Incalescent. And that's not even counting the past RPGs.

to:

* {{Loads {{Nepotism}}: It’s not unusual for the SRSIA and Loads ESO to recruit family members of Characters}}: There are well over twenty or thirty point-of-view their agents.
* {{Omniglot}}: Many
characters are this. In fact, over 25 different languages can be spoken between all of the characters. Because of this, a page had to be added to the wiki just to keep track of who speaks what language.
* {{Pint Sized Powerhouse}}: Mona and Zhanna are both barely over 5 feet tall, but can pack a punch.
* {{Professional Killer}}:
** While they all have varying situations, there are a few students
in Incalescent. And that's not the freshman class who were this before attending the school. They are: Bryce and Carrie Coupé, Desirée Chardon, Juliette Montesquieu, and Madison Leslie.
** Rick Mundee is an Australian assassin who takes many jobs from the SRSIA.
* {{Ragtag Bunch of Misfits}}: The students are this.
* {{Reality Ensues}}: During the Hostage mission, just as things were looking up for the Direct Attack Team as they broke into a SRSIA base to rescue Levi, everything quickly went to shit. [[{{surprisingly sudden death}} Marcel was killed by a sniper]], N’ada was shot in the back by the same sniper and became paralyzed from the waist down, Sadie suffered an epilepsy seizure after seeing Marcel die, and Mona became severely injured after fighting the sniper.
* {{Secret Underground Passage}}: Evergreen has it's very own metro established, used primarily for the importation of new students, supplies, and recruits. This allows them to stay free from enemy detection. The only metro lines that connect to the Academy are located in New York City for safety reasons and they pass under the Atlantic.
* {{Spy Catsuit}}: Evergreen’s uniform is a black one.
* {{Spy Fiction}}: Obviously.
* {{Spy Master}}:
** The leader of ESO hasn’t been introduced yet.
** Josia is the leader of SRSIA.
* {{Spy School}}: Evergreen is an elite academy for the spy intellect.
* {{Teen Superspy}}: The students are training to become this.
* {{The Mole}}: Mallory Atkinson is a freshman in Evergreen, but is actually a SRSIA spy.
* {{The Squad}}: There are four of them, but currently only three.
* {{The Wiki Rule}}: Yep.
*{{Training From Hell}}: Happens often.
** The entrance exam was a {{Virtual Training Simulation}}. Each squad took the exam is different rooms, each getting a different environment and different enemies to fight.
** In a prequel to the current roleplay, the previous generation of students first test happened before they
even counting entered the school gates. Part of the helicopter they were arriving in exploded, which made them have to jump out and fall in into the forest below, without a parachute no less. Only thing is, the forest wasn’t much safer. It was filled with the senior students who immediately began to shoot at them.
* {{Traveling at the Speed of Plot}}: While there are attempts to avoid this in the current roleplay, the previous roleplays were guilty of it.
** In other roleplays,
the past RPGs.generation of students were all picked up on the same helicopter and brought to the school in it. Despite the fact that they lived across three continents, they were all able to be picked up at 9:00am, in random order, and arrive at the school in just a few hours.
* {{Twenty Minutes Into The Future}}: The current roleplay is set in 2020, but throughout the various roleplays the spy organizations have always had technology that’s more advanced than what was available in the real world at the time.
* {{Would Hurt A Child}}: This isn’t surprising to see this, given the type of roleplay this is.

The main plot of Evergreen details the ongoing feud between the ESO (European Spy Organization), which values docile government and democracy, and the SRSIA (Soviet Russian Spy Intelligence Association), which stands beside a brutal and controlling international government. Caught in the middle of this feud are the students of Evergreen Academy, the ESO's school for future spies. Though some may not expect much from these students, they just may prove to be a lot smarter, tougher, and a whole lot braver than anyone ever expected.
