* MagicalLibrary: The mansions library contains all kinds of information and it's mysteriously easy to find what you are looking for. It seems to lack ''Literature/TheHungerGames'' and the ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' books, which is kind of magical too.

''Mansion'' is a roleplay thread set in the ''Roleplay/CharacterDevelopmentThread'' universe.

In the wild marshes, there is a mansion. A strange place, whose owner, for reasons not freely shared, has decided to let guests stay and socialize here. The various heroes, villains, and miscellany denizens of the multiverse find their way here by many paths. Some come by invitation by the mysterious host, some stumble upon it by accident, and some just find themselves drawn here by the strings of fate.

The thread can be found [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13591550900A97600100 here]]. It started in January of 2013, and came to a conclusion in September.

!!''Mansion'' contains examples of:
* CheerfulChild: Tamara's general disposition is a cheery one.
* ClockworkCreature: Mostly found in the Kitchen, Dining Room, and Sparring Room -- close examination will reveal they are actually [[{{Nanotechnology}} nanite colonies]] masquerading as clockwork.
* CoolHouse: Pretty much the whole point, starting from it defiantly being built in a swamp and going from there.
%%* FanDisservice: {{Defied}} by Anne early on while washing her dress.
* FishOutOfTemporalWater: Anne and Grimhilde, though both were rather quick to adapt. Ulrich as well, although his reactions to all the newfangled developments remain to be seen.
%%* GargleBlaster: Returns from Cantina and Resort. Fortunately (or unfortunately) no one has tried to sample one yet.
%%* GenreBlindness: Gets Mai temporarily BroughtDownToNormal by Aseyu, and later earns Friedrich an enemy in Agustin.
* IncrediblyLamePun: Alice suggests there's a special level in Hell for those who make these, [[HypocriticalHumor before making one herself]].
%%* InnBetweenTheWorlds: Essentially what the Mansion is serving as.
* MagicalLibrary: The mansions library contains all kinds of information and it's mysteriously easy to find what you are looking for. It seems to lack ''Literature/TheHungerGames'' and the ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' books, which is kind of magical too.
* MostWritersAreHuman: The prevalence of humans from Earth and Earth-like civilizations is occasionally lampshaded and explored, although some characters come with explanations. [[invoked]]
* OneWingedAngel: Grimhilde [[ScaledUp scales up]] to battle Aseyu. [[AnticlimaxBoss It doesn't work.]]
%%* PoliticallyCorrectHistory: Lampshaded and defied by Aseyu in her grilling of Vivi.
%%* RobotGirl: [[spoiler: Claire, although it was never obvious to anyone.]]
* RobotMaid: The clockwork creatures are an apparently non-sentient, and clearly non-communicative, version.
%%* SexyDiscretionShot: As per usual, both for Claire and Aseyu, and Koyel and Sven.
%%* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Both Aseyu and Sven qualify.
%%* SteamPunk: The aesthetic the host has a particular fondness for.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Some people react more to the harsh appearances of certain characters (Samira, Markus, Kokabiel, and Anne most prominently) than others.
%%* WrittenByTheVictors: Discussed very briefly by Samira and Markus early on.
