Back in the Real World, Davis as well as two other Digidestined has just received a different model their Digivices which Davis and Izzy noticed. This prompts TK to ask Kari to invite Tai over. After Izzy explains to Davis how his Digivice is a newer version of the original, TK realised that Davis knows about the Digivices and the Digital World thanks to Tai which Izzy is obviously upset about only for Davis to reply that he saw the entire Digidestined got sucked into the sky by a rainbow. Kari (After getting a bumpy head thank to Tai's soccer ball) eventually returns back with Tai asking Davis about his new Digivice. Once Davis starts noticing the Digivice's glow, he eventually flashed it to the computer which he unintentionally opens the Digiport. Thus the kids eventually begins the new adventure into the Digital World. Only for Izzy to be forgotten and stalled by Yolei and Cody who also received their new Digivices along with the brownies.

Once they entered the Digital World, they are happily reunited with their Digimons (Of course Agumon mistakes Davis for Tai at first) only for it to be cut short when Unimon attacks prompting the Digidestined and their Digimons to run and retreat into the caves. Courage. After Tai, TK, and Kari failed to lift it up, Davis managed to lift it with ease, and within the Digiegg, lies Veemon, the Digimon that is said to bring a great amount of luck. Unfortunately, Unimon managed to burst through and attacks the Digidestined. Despite Veemon telling Davis to use his courage to Digivolve, it is only when he sees Kari being hurt does he eventually decides to stand up and confront Unimon himself which prompts Veemon to Armor-Digivolve into Flamedramon and break through Unimon's Dark Ring. Tai, happy that Davis begins to stand up for himself, passed on his google to him as a sign of his status as a new leader.
Witnessing all of the actions, the Digimon Emperor remarks on this new obstacle that he has to conquer for his goal as the ruler, urging Wormmon to alert his controller Digimons.
Elsewhere, the shadowed figure is dissapointed in a sense that they failed to meet his expectations but nevertheless satisfied that the Digidestined managed to do quite well considering their inexperience. At the end, he remarks that the Digidestined will eventually face another threat once the Digimon Emperor has been eliminated.
