The Blackbird returns to the X-Mansion, with the returning X-Men solemn over the comrades lost during the mission. Storm cries as she looks back at the seats where Beast and Morph had been when they first left on the mission, while Wolverine is furious at Cyclops for abandoning them. It was revealed that while Morph was fatally wounded by the Sentinels, Beast was knocked into the electrified fence and electrocuted, knocking him out and allowing him to be captured.

Meanwhile, the female President believes the X-Men had good reason for destroying the files as she consults with the man in charge, Peter Henry Gyrich, before he returns to Detroit, where Jubilee is being held hostage at the Sentinel factory there with their maker, Bolivar Trask.

Continuing from ''Night of the Sentinels Part 1'', just as Storm is opening the door to a room full of armed guards, Wolverine stops her, having smelled the gun oil thanks to his animal-like nose, allowing Storm to ambush the guards with her powers, clearing the way to where they soon find the files and begin destroying them. When Beast is wasting too much time deleting the computer files, Storm fries the computer instead before extinguishing the fires from burning the paper copies. As they escape and rejoin Cyclops and the others outside, they are ambushed by the Sentinels. When Wolverine tries to attack one, he's flanked by another, forcing Morph to dive at him to save him from the Sentinel's attack, though it hits Morph instead. The pain of Morph being hit is felt by Jean through Cerebro back at the X-Mansion, and when Professor X checks for Morph himself with Cerebro, he senses nothing...

It was revealed that while Morph was fatally wounded by the Sentinels, Beast was knocked into the electrified fence and electrocuted, knocking him out and allowing him to be captured.

Cyclops goes to speak to Jubilee's parents, knowing that they would call the Mutant Control Agency and send a Sentinel after him after he left. When confronted by it, he blows its arm off, forcing the wounded Sentinel to return to base for repairs, allowing the X-Men to follow it back to the factory, where they manage to rescue Jubilee and cause serious damage to the Sentinels as well.

As a result of that, Jubilee decides to move into the X-Mansion and join the X-Men, but not before offering a final goodbye to her foster parents before moving into her new home.

* BatmanGambit: After visiting Jubilee's foster parents, Scott is attacked by a Sentinel. He planned for this, though, and blasts an arm off. When the Sentinel returns to its base for repairs, the team is already in place to follow it.

* BittersweetEnding: Jubilee goes to live at the mansion full time, joining the X-Men, but she promises to keep in touch with her foster parents. However, Morph is presumed dead and Beast is still in jail, while the X-Men's fight against the Sentinels has only begun.

* HeroicSacrifice: Morph pushes Wolverine out of the way, as the Sentinels open fire.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: Cyclops uses this as his reasoning for leaving his teammates behind as a command decision. When he feels a pang of guilt at the end of the episode questioning if he did the right thing despite that, Jean reassures him that Beast and Morph did what they had to do as well.

* KnowWhenToFoldEm: The group of thugs who try to fight Wolverine when he reveals he is a mutant, then try to pick a fight with Cyclops and lift his glasses, causing him to release an energy blast that blows up the pool table. They quickly realize they're out of their depths, put the glasses back on Cyclops and get the hell out of there.

* AdaptationalVillainy: Henry Gyrich started out as a bureaucratic opponent to the Avengers in the comics. Here he is kidnapping mutant teenagers.

* IDidWhatIHadToDo: Cyclops uses this as his reasoning for leaving behind his teammates behind as a command decision. When he feels a pang of guilt at the end of the episode questioning if he did the right thing despite that, Jean reassures him that Beast and Morph did what they had to do as well.
