The Team repels an attack on Happy Harbor by "Mister Twister", an element-wielding android trying to lure Red Tornado out and subvert his programming. The confrontation mostly plays out very much like canon, except that Paul accidentally ruins Superboy's ears with a sonic attack, and in the process of rebuilding them, he reveals that Superboy is only half Kryptonian.

* InternalReveal: The fact that Superboy is a human/Kryptonian/genomorph hybrid is revealed thanks to Orange Lantern's scan. Orange Lantern's first name is also finally made known.

* SacrificedBasicSkillForAwesomeTraining: Not conventionally so, but that's effectively what happened to Superboy sure to his telepathic education: patches of brilliance surrounded by gaps in normal social learning. The SI notes that he makes beef stroganoff and poached pears quite well, but it appears to be all he knows how to make. Similarly, he knows a lot about politics and geography, but sounds like he's reading from a textbook.

After spending their first 10 days without being assigned any missions, the team takes a joyride around Happy Harbor in Miss Martian's bio-ship. Their fun is interrupted by a supervillain android, Mister Twister, assaulting the town with weather control powers. The team's initial response is uncoordinated and easily brushed off by Mister Twister, and unfortunately Orange Lantern's sonic cannon constructs, while partially effective, are also responsible for wrecking Superboy's eardrums. Miss Martian jumps to the mistaken conclusion that Mister Twister is actually Red Tornado in disguise, and when OL disproves this by scanning and locating Red Tornado, they hide behind the bio-ship and regroup.

The Team's second assault is better planned, with Miss Martian impersonating Red Tornado to attract Mister Twister's attention while the rest of the team covertly surrounds him. Mister Twister reveals that his intention is to reprogram Red Tornado, immediately before the team makes a synchronized attack and disables him. Orange Lantern argues against his destruction, since he has at least human-level intelligence, but the android self-destructs, rendering the point moot.

In the aftermath, Orange Lantern rebuilds Superboy's inner ears by replicating Superman's. In the process, he reveals to Superboy that he is not a pure Kryptonian clone, but a human/Kryptonian/genomorph hybrid.

Later, Robin is able to guess Orange Lantern's first name, Paul, by presenting names on a computer screen and observing his reaction.
