Prez is the first one in the detail office early in the morning. He starts to pour himself coffee, changes his mind, and instead turns on his portable radio/tape player, which plays Music/JohnnyCash's "I Walk The Line". As Prez stares at the disorganized photo array on TheBigBoard, we go into a HardWorkMontage where (a) Carver photographs various cars belonging to the people Frank does business with directly or indirectly, including Glekas, Eton, and Ilona ([[Recap/TheWireS02E09StrayRounds the madam they arrested]]) while Herc puts GPS trackers on them, (b) Lester tracks information on the cars, and Bunk and [=McNulty=] pull information from an insurance company about them, and (c) Prez organizes the board, while, at various times, Beadie, Daniels, Kima and Lester look on. As the song nears its end, Prez stops the tape. The detail office is once again dark and deserted, but Prez looks at the board (actually, three boards), which now has all of their targets completely organized into columns, and says, "[[PrecisionFStrike Fucking-A.]]"

At the Terrace Tower, Bodie and Puddin are marveling at how much business they've been doing [[Recap/TheWireS02E09StrayRounds since Stringer made the deal with Proposition Joe]]. Stringer visits, and after confirming things are going well, Stringer directs Bodie's attention to Cheese and his crew. Bodie thinks Stringer wants him to do battle with Cheese, but instead, Stringer wants Bodie to let Cheese take over, which Bodie doesn't understand. As Cheese and his crew laughingly claim they're going to show the others how things get done, Bodie tells Stringer what he did makes no sense. Stringer asks if the product is good, and when Bodie says yes, replies, "It make sense now?" As Stringer walks away, Bodie unhappily returns to his post.

At the detail office, Daniels asks how close they are to getting up on the "Boss Man". Prez is confident he's within their sights, but Lester cautions they might be going up on a dead line. [=McNulty=] has a better idea, though he concedes it might take longer; he shows on his computer how, through the GPS trackers, they showed how the cars all go to only a few locations (including the diner and the Fort Howard area), and if they stake those areas out, they could find him. As Prez stares at the technology (borrowed from the FBI), fascinated, Daniels assigns Carver and Herc to stake out the diner, while Bunk and [=McNulty=] go to Fort Howard.

Frank goes into his office with a bunch of papers he tries to hide, but Ott immediately realizes they're campaign fliers, and is upset. Frank tries to tell him it isn't personal, saying he just wants to finish what he started, but Ott obviously thinks Frank doesn't think Ott is good enough, and storms out. Horseface, who has been sitting there, looks at Frank, who angrily asks if he should tell Ott where his money is coming from.

Valchek is meeting in his office with a pair of FBI agents, and Valchek is glad to hear about the FBI's focus on union racketeering. The agents, however, are less than thrilled when Valchek also brings up [[Recap/TheWireS02E02CollateralDamage the stolen van]].

Bodie and his crew are arguing about Cheese being there; Bodie points out they won't get to keep the product if they force Cheese off, but one of Bodie's crew says Cheese is always hustling and cutting prices. Bodie sees one of Cheese's crew selling to Bubbles, and he walks over, lies that Cheese is selling "burns", and offers Bubbles a better deal than what he's paying for. Bubbles thinks that sounds good, so he walks towards Bodie's crew as Bodie says they now have to step up their game. Cheese hears about what happened, and he and Bodie trade insults.

Lester and Prez are monitoring the wires when Carver and Herc come in with central processing units, and Lester dismissively tells them to put them anywhere. Carver and Herc both wonder if they can help out with anything, but Lester tells them to get on their surveillance duty. Carver and Herc storm out, and they gripe at how they're being taken for granted. In the parking lot, the agents who met with Valchek ask where Daniels is, and Carver points inside. When they go in, the two joke about how easy FBI agents are to spot. The agents walk into Daniels' office and say Valchek sent them, which is news to Daniels.

At Butchie's, he and a couple of others are arguing about the west side/east side Baltimore gang feud when Omar comes in. After greeting [[Recap/TheWireS02E03HotShots the dog that hangs around the bar]] and giving him a treat, Omar greets Butchie. He also gives Butchie money "for my peoples" and "for a rainy day." Butchie thinks maybe if Omar wants to slow things down, but Omar doesn't. He scratches the dog one last time, and takes off.

Ziggy and Johnny Fifty are at the Mercedes pen, stealing [[Recap/TheWireS02E09StrayRounds the cars they promised Glekas]], and Johnny gripes Ziggy is being too loud (turning the car radio up full blast, for one thing), but they get all the cars they need, go through a hole in the fence (so it doesn't look like an inside job), and drive them into the container.

Aimee is doing laundry in Nick's parents' basement when she notices something tucked in the unfinished ceiling. She pulls out several hundreds of dollars in rolled-up bills.

Kima comes home, and Cheryl, who's a few months pregnant, comes out. Kima complains there's no food, and Cheryl wonders when Kima's going to be doing things for her. Kima gets a beer and takes it into the living room, where she sits on the couch and turns on the TV. Cheryl tries to snuggle against her and get Kima to feel her belly, but though Kima goes through the motions of doing it, she's clearly not interested.

Aimee is grilling Nick about the money; Nick claims the [[Recap/TheWireS02E07Backwash warehouse job he told her about]] pays in cash, but Aimee doesn't believe him. Nick puts the cash back in its hiding place and leaves.

Bubbles is buying drugs at the Terrace when Cheese and his crew walk past. They come across [[Recap/TheWireS02E09StrayRounds Brother Mouzone]] and his lackey, Lamar ([=DeAndre=] [=McCullough=]). Cheese and his crew make fun of Brother Mouzone's outfit (he's wearing a suit and a bow tie), wondering if he's from the [[UsefulNotes/{{Islam}} Nation of Islam]]. Brother Mouzone, all business, asks if Cheese works for Avon; since he doesn't, Brother Mouzone orders Cheese and his crew to leave. As Bubbles watches from afar, Cheese's crew start to storm at Brother Mouzone, but Cheese holds them off. He makes as if they're going to leave when he turns around and starts to run at Brother Mouzone himself, but he's stopped when Brother Mouzone pulls out a pistol and shoots him in the shoulder. As other people around run, and Cheese grimaces in pain, Brother Mouzone informs him that while the first shot was just rat shot, the second one will be a bullet he designed, and warns him what comes next will be worse. Cheese gets the hint and leaves with his crew, while Bubbles still watches. Brother Mouzone turns to Lamar, who takes the gun and gives him three books he's been holding.

Daniels and Rhonda are with the FBI ([[Recap/TheWireS01E13Sentencing including one of the agents they dealt with before]]), who tell them the case is important because waterfront corruption can be folded into their terrorism mandate. Daniels tries to point out the union isn't the whole case, but the agents tell him it's the main reason they've agreed to take it. Daniels reluctantly agrees.

Cheese is in Proposition Joe's store, and while Cheese is still hurting, he wants to take revenge. Proposition Joe points out Avon's crew is in the same mess they are, and better hitmen than Cheese have been taken down by Brother Mouzone. Cheese says they could put a bounty on him, but Proposition Joe says that's like signing his own death warrant, but it gives him an idea, and he gets on the phone.

Fitz and a few other FBI agents enter the detail office as Bunk, Lester and Prez look on. Bunk and Lester pretend as if they're going to take InterserviceRivalry to the next step, but when Fitz swears at them, everyone drops the act and they all greet each other.

Glekas is doing inventory with a younger worker when Ziggy strides in, joking about how easily cars can be stolen. Glekas hisses they should discuss business in his office, and they go there. In the office, Ziggy says everything went smoothly, and Glekas can have Sergei check it out if he wants. Glekas is upset Ziggy took one of the cars for himself, but keeps under control and gives Ziggy an envelope full of cash. Ziggy, however, is upset [[MovingTheGoalposts it's not as much cash as they agreed on, and is further angered when Glekas laughs at him]]. When Ziggy calls him "[[CountryMatters a thieving Greek cunt]]", Glekas finally loses his cool, dragging Ziggy out of the office, hitting him several times, and cursing him out. He stuffs the envelope into Ziggy's shirt and storms off. Ziggy gets up and lurches outside until he gets to his car, and gets in. He sits in the driver's seat for a couple of seconds before hitting the wheel in frustration. When he finishes, Ziggy pulls [[Recap/TheWireS02E09StrayRounds the gun he bought]] out of the glove compartment, gets out of the car, and walks purposefully into the store. He shoots the younger worker first, and then shoots Glekas several times as Glekas tries to flee. Glekas, badly bleeding, is lying on the floor, begging for his life, but Ziggy shoots him in the head, killing him, and says, "''[[IronicEcho Malaka]]''." Ziggy looks at the wounded worker, who's dialing 911 on his cellphone, throws the envelope of money at him, and walks out. Ziggy goes back to his car, gets in, starts the car, and tries to light a cigarette, but [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone his hands start shaking and he starts crying]], and he turns off the car as we hear police sirens in the background.

At the Marine unit, Bunk is putting on his life preserver as [=McNulty=] tells him he should have waited till he got on the boat. [=McNulty=] and Diggins help an extremely reluctant Bunk get onto the boat, and once everybody's on, [=McNulty=] hands fishing rods to the other two.

Proposition Joe is at Butchie's, asking him to get word to Omar for a meeting with Stringer. Butchie thinks the whole thing smells fishy, but Proposition Joe assures him Stringer just wants to parley. Butchie says if anything seems bad, he's telling Omar to back out, which Proposition Joe agrees to, and he wants Heywood, his nephew (one of the people Butchie was talking with earlier), to provide security, which also is fine.

Jay enters the interrogation room and gives Ziggy the confession he dictated, which just needs his signature. Ziggy, still upset, picks up a cigarette, and gets an okay that he can smoke (Jay even lights his cigarette for him). Jay, not unkindly, reminds Ziggy as he looks through the confession that he needs to initial each page. Ziggy asks if it's "the official record", which Jay says it is, and asks if he can change something, which Jay says is fine as long as he initials the change. Ziggy wants "He said, 'Please don't shoot me'" changed to "He begged", as it's more accurate. Jay says it's fine, and Ziggy, still struggling to keep himself under control, changes and initials the page.

In front of the diner, Carver tells the FBI agents who are his relief that there's been no activity. Bunk and [=McNulty=] are on the boat, and Bunk is starting to enjoy himself (smoking a cigar and sitting on the edge of the boat without his life jacket), while [=McNulty=] tells him to keep an eye out. Beadie and Kima, meanwhile, are watching the warehouse. Kima asks Beadie how things have been for her kids since Beadie started working the detail. Beadie says this is the first time anything like this has ever come up, and she would ask the sitter to stay longer or leave her kids with her folks, but that her kids are the most important thing. Kima isn't happy to hear that.

Back in the interrogation room, Jay puts Ziggy's jacket on his shoulders as a uniform cop cuffs him. Ziggy guesses there's no way he gets bail, and Jay gently asks if there's any family he can contact, but Ziggy shakes his head, and lets the cop bring him outside.

At the detail office the next day, Fitz is sitting with Daniels, Lester, and another agent as others work in the background. They talk about the containers that are shipping from the port in France [[Recap/TheWireS02E01EbbTide the prostitutes]], as well as the other contraband, came from, and Fitz says the FBI has a lot of agents tracking the 110 containers coming out from there ("[[DeadpanSnarker We may be assholes, but on the upside, there's an awful lot of us"]]). Bunk and [=McNulty=] come in, and confirm to Daniels there's been no activity. As they head back out, Fitz goes on his computer...

...and [[Recap/TheWireS02E09StrayRounds Agent Koutris]] is at his computer when he notices the names Fitz entered in the FBI search database popping up on his screen as well. Koutris reaches for the phone.

Frank and Horseface are in Frank's office, talking about the next shipment the Greeks have for them, when Nick walks in, looking pale. Frank greets him warmly, but Nick, trying to keep it together, tells him about Ziggy. Frank becomes furious, and grabs Nick, asking where he was; "You're his fucking cousin!" Nick points out Frank is Ziggy's father, and Frank has no answer to that. He storms off, and Nick falls down, crying.

Koutris and the Greek are at an art gallery, where Koutris tells him about the FBI investigation. The Greek is not happy.

At Little Johnny's diner, Spiros reads his paper when he gets a text. He tells Stefanos, the counterman, to send "the boy" to Eton, and says there won't be anymore calls. He wishes Stefanos a fond farewell and leaves. As he walks out to his car, Carver and Herc are busy arguing about lunch, and so miss him.

In the detail office, Lester gets word from Kima (who's still surveying the warehouse) that Eton has pulled up. Just then, Valchek walks in, and berates the FBI for betraying him. Daniels tries to appease Valchek, but Valchek reminds him [[Recap/TheWireS02E04HardCases of how he gave Daniels the detail in the first place]], and has gotten nothing in return. He tells Prez to pack up his stuff, and tells Daniels that if he wants it that way, Valchek doesn't want his people involved. Prez, however, hasn't moved, and haltingly tries to explain how much work there is, but Valchek isn't having any; he threatens Prez with insubordination charges if he doesn't leave, shoves Prez in the shoulder, and barks, "Move, shitbird!" Prez responds by punching his father-in-law in the face. As the rest of the detail looks on, shocked, Daniels and Lester move forward (Daniels to get in front of Valchek, Lester to restrain Prez), and Valchek stumbles but doesn't fall. Fitz picks up Valchek's cap, which Valchek takes; he stares at Prez, and then walks out. Daniels turns to Prez and says, "[[TranquilFury Detective; my office.]]" Prez easily slips out of Lester's grip, hands his gun to Daniels, and walks towards the office. Daniels and Lester (who's still in shock) look at each other, and then Daniels walks off, and Lester goes back to the computer.

On the boat, Bunk is enjoying himself, even fishing for real, while Diggins and [=McNulty=] watch the shore. Lester radios and lets them know Eton is heading their way. [=McNulty=] sees Eton meeting with Spiros, and crows, "[[TemptingFate We're on the boss.]]" On the shore, Eton has just told Spiros about Ziggy, and Spiros gets upset, but keeps control of his temper. He tells Eton to pull everything out of the store that the police didn't already confiscate, and he sends a text message on his phone before telling Eton to toss his phone in the water. As the two of them do this, [=McNulty=] and Diggins are watching, and Diggins guesses Spiros must have sent a text message.

That night, Carver and Herc are still at the diner when they notice Nick pull up. Nick goes inside and asks to speak with Spiros, but Stefanos plays dumb. Nick looks horrified, and leaves.

At the detail office, [=McNulty=] and Bunk are laughing as they hear about Prez. Fitz and Lester confirm Daniels made everyone write a report as to what happened, which Bunk says was smart, and he and [=McNulty=] banter over whether Prez can get back into the detail again. [=McNulty=] then asks if they could trace the text Spiros sent, figure out what it said, and who he sent it to. The others are dubious, even when [=McNulty=] points out they know where he sent it from.

At the Terrace, Brother Mouzone is sitting at his chair when Lamar comes over with some magazines. Brother Mouzone chides Lamar for not bringing ''Harper's'', even though he specifically asked for it. Bodie and Puddin watch and agreeably note Brother Mouzone is "real muscle", but wonder if this means they no longer get the good product, and why he's there in the first place.

Back at the detail office, there's a flurry of activity as Fitz says they weren't able to track down the phone company Spiros was using. [=McNulty=], at the waterfront area, radios in the longitude and latitude of where Spiros was when he made the call, and Bunk and Fitz go to a wireless company. The clerk congratulates them on how they tracked the call down, and tells them they have all the texts sent from that phone at that time. Bunk gives the clerk a subpoena and starts to reach for the folder, but the clerk stops him and says they need a search warrant for anything other than the account info and phone number, although the warrant gives them texts from the last two months. Bunk says they'll get a warrant, but asks if they can just look at the most recent text, and Fitz pleads exigent circumstances. The clerk lets them look, but the text is in Greek. Fitz gets on his cellphone. Back at the detail office, Daniels, Kima (whom Daniels catches up on what's been going on), Lester and [=McNulty=] look on as an agent translates the text Fitz e-mailed them. The text turns out to say, "SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY," and Daniels and the others react.

Nick is [[AbandonedPlayground sitting on a merry-go-round]] and looking distraught when Prissy ([[Series/NurseJackie Merritt Wever]]) joins him. When the merry-go-round stops spinning, Nick takes a pull from a bottle of whiskey, and offers it to Prissy, who accepts. She sits across from him, and, trying not to cry, they talk about the time Ziggy made them fake [=IDs=] but didn't buy the liquor they wanted. Nick screams out a line Ziggy used that night ("College kids ain't shit!"), throws the bottle away, and falls back on the grass, crying. Prissy sits by him.

Beadie's at home in bed when Kima calls and wakes her, saying they'll be raiding the warehouse and everywhere else. She asks if Beadie has somewhere to bring her kids, and Beadie says she can take them to her parents. She hangs up and starts to change into her cop clothes.

We end with another HardWorkMontage, as the detail readies the arrest warrants and affidavits necessary while Eton and Sergei, at the warehouse and the store, either take or destroy all the relevant evidence, including washing the drugs down the drain.

This

At the detail office, Daniels asks how close they are to getting up on the "Boss Man". Prez is confident he's within their sights, but Lester cautions they might be going up on a dead line. [=McNulty=] has a better idea, though he concedes it might take longer; he shows on his computer how, through the GPS trackers, they showed how the cars all go to only a few locations (including the diner and the Fort Howard area), and if they stake those areas out, they could find him. As Prez stares at the technology (borrowed from the FBI, fascinated), Daniels assigns Carver and Herc to stake out the diner, while Bunk and [=McNulty=] go to Fort Howard.

Ziggy, however, is upset it's not as much cash as they agreed on, and is further angered when Glekas laughs at him.

Prez is the first one in the detail office early in the morning. He starts to pour himself coffee, changes his mind, and instead turns on his portable radio/tape player, which plays Music/JohnnyCash's "I Walk The Line". As Prez stares at the disorganized photo array on the bulletin board, we go into a HardWorkMontage where (a) Carver photographs various cars belonging to the people Frank does business with directly or indirectly, including Glekas, Eton, and Ilona ([[Recap/TheWireS02E09StrayRounds the madam they arrested]]) while Herc puts GPS trackers on them, (b) Lester tracks information on the cars, and Bunk and [=McNulty=] pull information from an insurance company about them, and (c) Prez organizes the board, while, at various times, Beadie, Daniels, Kima and Lester look on. As the song nears its end, Prez stops the tape. The detail office is once again dark and deserted, but Prez looks at the board (actually, three boards), which now has all of their targets completely organized into columns, and says, "[[PrecisionFStrike Fucking-A.]]"

Ziggy, however, is upset it's not as much cash as they agreed on, and is further angered when Glekas laughs at him. Ziggy goes back to his car, gets in, starts the car, and tries to light a cigarette, but [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone his hands start shaking and he starts crying]] as we hear police sirens in the background.

Cheese gets the hint and leaves with his crew, while Bubbles still watches. Brother Mouzone turns to Lamar, who takes the gun and gives him three books he's been holding.

At the Towers, Bodie and Puddin are marveling at how much business they've been doing [[Recap/TheWireS02E09StrayRounds since Stringer made the deal with Proposition Joe]].

As Prez stares at the technology (borrowed from the FBI, fascinated), Daniels assigns Carver and Herc to stake out the diner, while Bunk and [=McNulty=] go to Fort Howard.

Prez is the first one in the detail office early in the morning. He starts to pour himself coffee, changes his mind, and instead turns on his portable radio/tape player, which plays Music/JohnnyCash's "I Walk The Line". As the song nears its end, Prez stops the tape.
