A witch pranks two policemen in a helicopter by scaring them, but then her cat Twinkie falls off the broomstick. It lands on a pizza Slimer ordered, then both enter the firehouse. They run (Twinkie) and fly (Slimer) past Ray, who's working on the car, and Egon, who's doing chemistry, causing both men to get startled and make messes (Ray rips his jumpsuit and Egon's experiment is wrecked).

Louis and Ray enter and Slimer apologise, then wishes out loud that Twinkie hadn't caused the messes. The messes then vanish, so Egon scans Twinkie and determines it's a witch's familiar. Louis tries wishing for a billion dollars, but it doesn't work, and Egon and Ray explain familiars can't grant humans' wishes; only those of ghosts and other supernatural beings. Egon and Ray make a bed for Twinkie, while the witch tries searching for it.

Twinkie then escapes its bed and falls asleep on Slimer. Louis, who is staying the night at the firehouse, gets out of bed for a snack, and then when Slimer dreams of anthropomorphic food, Twinkie starts bringing his dreams to life in its sleep. Thus, the food in the fridge comes to life and bothers Louis. Egon tries to do the experiment again, but is stopped by Louis screaming. He enters the kitchen to find the anthropomorphic food tying Louis up and trying to feed him. Egon realises that Twinkie is bringing Slimer's dreams to life, and then when he sleep-talks about a new toy, the fridge turns into a toy robot.

They fight off the food and run into the bedroom, where a bunch of Christmas paraphernalia shows up due to another of Slimer's dreams. The witch shows up, and so does a Santa, who Egon makes go away by saying he wants that for Christmas. The witch takes Twinkie, but just before they leave, Slimer makes one last wish: a giant sub sandwich.
