* HonorBeforeReason: Luz risks ending her dream of learning magic just to get Amity to apologize to King. Once it becomes clear she would be magically held to the forfeit and has no way to win the duel legitimately, Luz still doesn't want to cheat, and only starts going along when she's afraid Amity will end up killing her otherwise.

* NoListeningSkills: Amity ignores Luz when she brought up nearly getting her dissected by Bump in favor of finding an excuse to get Luz to leave and when Luz earnestly tries to explain that [[OrderedToCheat she didn't want to cheat in the duel]] only to be interrupted and disregarded as lying by Amity, looking down at her as if Luz is beneath her, and yet continues this attitude when Luz tries comforting her afterwards.

to:

* MisplacedRetribution: Amity blames Luz for embarrassing her in the witch's duel, even though it was actually Lilith and Eda's faults.

* SpringtimeForHitler: Luz tries to warn Amity away from one of Eda's traps, seriously (and correctly) afraid it could wound or kill her. Amity is so hellbent on proving Luz a fraud, she seemed prepared to step forward anyway, and was only stopped by King falling onto it first, something he only comes out unscathed from because of all the "offerings" he had on him.

* CracksInTheIcyFacade: Amity starts as a total {{Jerkass}}, smashing King's cupcake and using Luz's challenge to keep her from studying magic. However, as soon as Eda reveals that Lilith cheated by increasing Amity's powers with a coven adhesive, [[EveryoneHasStandards the girl runs away ashamed]], and later frees Luz from her [[MagicallyBindingContract "everlasting oath"]].

* DidntThinkThisThrough: Luz challenges Amity to a witch's duel despite knowing only one spell which she can't even cast in a practical fashion. When Amity forces her into an "everlasting oath", Luz realizes she's made a horrible mistake. When Eda tries to train her for her duel, Eda realizes she probably should have put more effort into teaching her other spells.

* ItsAllAboutMe: Amity was only concerned with her issues, she disregards the fact she nearly got Luz killed, [[EvilIsPetty stepped on King's cupcake just to spite her]], accepted Luz's challenge on the condition she give up learning magic if she lost, nearly killed her again during the duel, demeaned Luz for cheating despite her saying she didn't want to, and was distraught when [[MoralMyopia her future in the emperor's coven is in danger]] thanks to Lillith's meddling. She didn't care about other's feelings, and it seemed like she never thought about the potential outcomes of her actions.

* NeverMyFault:
** Amity blames Luz for getting her in trouble during "I Was A Teenage Abomination". Thing is, while Luz impersonating an Abomination may have begun the situation, it was ultimately Amity herself who caused a scene in the cafeteria by shaking Luz silly to figure out what she was rather than simply letting it go or informing the teacher or Principal Bump about her suspicions from the get-go. Luz also points out that although she was sent to his office, Principal Bump didn't punish Amity and instead tried to dissect the human, only for Amity to swiftly change the subject.
** Amity also blamed Luz for embarrassing her in the Witch's Duel instead of reflecting how she essentially provoked Luz into challenging her, accepted it, [[EvilIsPetty made the oath to force her to permanently give up learning magic]], or that she could've severely hurt Luz in said duel and when Luz tries to warn her about Eda's trap. She continued her animosity toward Luz instead of realizing her arrogant, jerkass behavior is mainly how she got into this mess.
** She also seems to have a "Never Their Fault" attitude when it comes to authority figures, blaming Willow for stealing her top student badge when it was the teacher who callously chose to take it from Amity and give it to Willow due to being easily impressed by Luz's Abomination disguise, and later blames Luz for embarrassing her in the witch's duel even though it was actually Lilith and Eda's faults.

While true that King is dressed in layers of clothing, that's not what the trope called Dressed In Layers is about.

* ImprovisedArmor: An accidental example; King wears so many free T-shirts [[DressedInLayers layered on top of each other]], they end up protecting him when he falls on Eda's spike trap.
