When Oscar happens across a gambler having even worse luck than him, he wins a racing greyhound called Golden Earrings. Unfortunately for Oscar, he ends up having to accept Felix's help to pay back fees and Felix considers racing exploitative.
!! This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Golden Earrings is very fast and won $15,000 for his owner one year. Unfortunately, he tends to become distracted by butterflies.
* BlackComedy: Salty, Golden Earrings' old owner, says that he won $1,100 from a cabbie the day he lost the dog to Oscar. Apparently, said cabbie bet that he wouldn't get robbed and Salty forced the issue.
* BrickJoke: Golden Earrings soils Oscar's bedroom carpet during his brief stay in the apartment. At the end, Felix misses the dog and wishes he had a memento of his time with them. Oscar offers him the carpet.
* HeroesLoveDogs: Felix adores Golden Earrings on sight and pampers him in an effort to make up for what he sees as the bad life the dog has led so far.
* PopCulturePunEpisodeTitle: The title refers to the slogan of Greyhound buses: "And leave the driving to us."
* PottyEmergency: Implied; Oscar warns Felix that he needs to take the dog outside, but Felix thinks he wants a drink of water instead. While Felix is getting the water, the dog runs into Oscar's room. Felix brings up the statement that if a dog pays attention to someone's possessions it means he likes them and says that Golden Earrings got a little excited.
* TheThingThatWouldNotLeave: Oscar ends up having to push out the gambler from whom he won Golden Earrings, because the man keeps trying to coax him into another game despite having nothing left.
* YouAreNumberSix: The owner of the racing kennel doesn't know the dogs by name, only by number. Golden Earrings is #724. Naturally, Felix takes this as more evidence that the racing business exploits the dogs.
