* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Lin getting her ass handed by Suyin when they fight. Exceptionally experienced and Chief of Police she may be, she is on the beginning stages of her recovery and is emotionally blinded, as displayed by her clear difficulty standing and significantly reduced usage of proper techniques. Meanwhile, Suyin has also spent a few decades herself practicing her Earthbending and Metalbending and even though she isn't exactly an active fighter, is at her prime condition AND being a dancer, her fighting style is much more fluid than her sister's, regardless of any gap between experience and strength they may have. As such, the sibling scuffle ends in a minute as Suyin easily blocks anything Lin tries, methodically wearing her down by mainly defending, before retaliating and sending her flying with a bended wall of metal.

* WorfHadTheFlu: Lin is at far from her best when she challenges Suyin, thanks to the physically and emotionally exhausting acupuncture treatments that she didn't allow time to finish.

* AbsenteeActor: Asami is nowhere to be seen after the breakfast that Varrick interrupted.

* DefeatMeansFriendship: Well the fight was stopped by Opal, but it seems that all of those bottled up feelings Lin had are gone after the fight and she appears to be much calmer.

* InstantExpert: It only takes Korra a few minutes before she begins metalbending and by the end of the afternoon she's able to make more complex shapes out of the metal a fact that depresses Bolin who has tried most of his life to metalbend but has never been able to do so.

* NoSell: Lin's chi is so blocked, that the initial acupuncture attempt has no effect on her whatsoever.

Meanwhile, Lin faces her past during an acupuncture sessions, forcing her to relive the circumstances which led to her and Su's strained relationship. After a cathartic release of her repressed emotions, Lin makes amends with her sister as well as Opal, who she convinces to travel to the Northern Air Temple to train with Tenzin. Elsewhere, Zaheer and his group determine Korra's whereabouts shortly after escaping Republic City, deducing that she was under the Metal Clan's protection in Zaofu.
