Kupitman plans to hit on Rita and asks Bykov for advice. When Bykov laughs on him, he suggests to bet on it, to which Bykov agrees. But thanks to Bykov cheating by hiring the patient to intimidate Kupitman by pretending to be Rita's jealous boyfriend, Kupitman loses the bet. He, however, refuses to pay money he'd lost, stating that the bet was just a mistake and thus doesn't matter. In order to "punish" Kupitman, Bykov recruits Rita to play along with his prank: she would pretend to reciprocate to Kupitman's early advances, so Kupitman would insist on restarting the bet. This works, but Kupitman somehow "wins"... or, rather, he and Rita cooperated to cheat and split the money. But then Rita takes all the money, stating that otherwise she would tell Bykov how pathetic Kupitman was when begging her to cooperate with him; she was aware of their bet all along, and wasn't amused by it.

Phil's patient, Sasha, turns out to be gay, who, once he learns that Phil was raised in a homosexual family and is perfectly okay with it, asks him to help to convince his boyfriend Valeriy that they would do the right thing by adopting a child (Valeriy fears that this would only cause harm in the long run). Phil assures him that everything would be okay, but at night realises that it would be a horrible mistake. Phil asks Rita to pretend that he simply doesn't exist, so Valeriy would get angry due to being called for nothing, and leave. This works, but Sasha manages to catch Phil and force into facing Valeriy tomorrow -- which is when Phil plans to take a day off.

* AllForNothing: Neither Bykov nor Kupitman wins {{the bet}}; Rita does, by cooperating with Kupitman and then blackmailing him into giving up the money.

* TheBet: Kupitman has a bet with Bykov about wether Kupitman would sleep with Rita or not. Their entire plot involves both sides trying to cheat in order to get the money.

to:

\n* BatmanGambit: Bykov intentionally lies to Lobanov about the panties belonging to Kisegach, knowing that he would rush to inform Gleb, giving Bykov an excuse to reveal Semyon's involvement in the first prank. In fact, he comments on Lobanov taking longer than was estimated.
* TheBet: Kupitman has a bet with Bykov about wether whether Kupitman would sleep with Rita or not. Their entire plot involves both sides trying to cheat in order to get the money.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: Neither Phil nor his patient Sasha did think about possible consequences of a gay couple adopting a kid in rampantly homophobic Russia. Phil (who suffered from constant homophobia-induced abuse throughout all his childhood, despite living in ''USA'') realises this in time to talk the couple out of it by mentioning the possible complications. What he also forgot to mention is that homosexuals and/or transsexuals have a low chance to even adopt a kid in the first place, and high chance to lose them to child services when (not even "if") someone finds out and complains.

* DudeNotFunny: When Bykov reveals that the panties Gleb just found actually belongs to ''Kisegach'', Lobanov considers this to be a new low, even for Bykov. After that, he tries (in vain) to ask Gleb to at least hide them somewhere and stop discussing his erotic fantasies with him. When second "date", of course, gets proven fake as well, Gleb becomes infuriated and attaches the panties to the notice board, after which Semyon snaps and reveals the truth to him. Gleb's reaction is even more explosive than Semyon's was, and he actually shouts on Bykov.

** Bykov "lost" "loses" the bet due to Rita "sleeping with Kupitman" (actually they united to just scam Bykov for money and then divide them 50/50).

In reality, it was send sent by Olga, in order to free Semyon for a day Semyon, so they can attend theatre, at Gleb's expense; Semyon was on the plan.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Phil initially supported supports his (gay) patient's idea to adopt a kid, but during a night he realised what realises that while this likely would be a good idea in USA, it would not be in Russia, for one simple reason: rampant homophobia on all levels. For bonus points, during his NightmareSequence, he saw his older self confronted him and stating all problems he faced "thanks" to Phil, before killing him. For bonus points, all those problems were from Phil's own experience, and he's not even Russian (patient himself also looked and sounded exactly as Phil himself).
levels.
* NightmareSequence: Phil had one has a nightmare soon after he assured convinces his (gay) patient to adopt a kid, stating what that everything would be okay. In it, he was this nightmare, Phil, now much older doctor, who was gets confronted by some guy (who looks and sounds suspiciously like Phil himself), who tell tells him about all the problems he suffered thanks to this adoption (all of this happened to Phil himself, too). * {{Squick}}: [[invoked]] Lobanov's InUniverse reaction when Bykov revealed what reveals that panties Gleb just found actually belongs to Gleb's mother. He considers this to be new low, even for Bykov. After that, he futility tried tries (in vain) to ask Gleb to at least hide them somewhere and stop discussing his erotic fantasies with him. When second "date", of course, was gets proven fake as well, Gleb become becomes infuriated and attached attaches the panties to news-board, the notice board, after which Semyon snapped snaps and revealed reveals the truth to him. Predictably, it turns out what that the panties were a bait set by Bykov, and panties actually belonged to... Gleb's mother (this last one squicked squicks Semyon to no end). Kupitman plans to hit on Rita and asks Bykov for advice. When Bykov laughs on him, he suggests betting on it, to which Bykov agrees. But thanks to Bykov cheating by hiring patient to intimidate Kupitman by pretending to be Rita's jealous boyfriend, Kupitman lost the bet. He, however, refused to pay money he lost, stating what bet was just mistake and thus doesn't matter.

Gleb receive anonymous letter which promises him something "interesting" if he would stay on night shift today. But who did this? As it turns out, it was Olga, in league with Semyon, to fool Gleb into staying on night shift instead of Lobanov, allowing Olga and Semyon attend theatre today.

Phil's patient, Sasha, turns out to be gay, who, once learned what Phil was raised in homosexual family and is perfectly okay with it, asked him to help reassure his boyfriend Valeriy what they would do the right thing adopting a kid (Valeriy fears this would only cause harm for a kid). Phil assured him what everything would be okay, but realised what this would be horrible mistake during night.

Bykov, in order to "punish" Kupitman, recruited Rita to play along with his prank -- she would pretend to answer to Kupitman's early advances, so Kupitman would later suggest to restart their bet. This worked, but surprisingly to everyone, Kupitman actually ''won''... or, rather, it was his and Rita's plan to cheat, so they can divide money 50/50... nope, Kupitman, you would receive nothing, otherwise Rita would just reveal what in reality, it was just night full of humiliation, because she was aware of their bet all along and this was Kupitman's punishment.

Lobanov tells Bykov about his pranks on Gleb, and he suggested to repeat it again, just for fun. Semyon refused and tried to warn Gleb at the last moment... only for him to ignore everything, because now he has concrete "evidence" -- girl's panties. Unknowingly to him, those panties belongs to ''Kisegach'', as Bykov revealed to Lobanov. To prevent Lobanov from revealing this to Gleb, Bykov blackmailed him by reminding what ''first'' prank was done by Semyon, not Bykov. But when on next day Gleb snapped after second fake "date", he attached panties to new-board with humiliating note, after which Lobanov snapped and tell him. They rushed to Bykov... who then tell them what those panties he just bough in nearby stall -- and revealed truth about first "date" and Semyon's relation to it to Gleb. Lobanov proceeds to run out before Gleb managed to tell him anything.

Phil asked Rita to pretend what he simply doesn't exist, so Valeriy would just become angry with being called for nothing and leaves. This worked, buy Sasha managed to catch him and force into facing Valeriy tomorrow... unfortunately, tomorrow Phil plans to take a leave.

!! This episode provides examples of:
* BaitAndSwitch: Do you really believed what Rita slept with Kupitman? Nope, they formed temporal alliance to win a bet (Bykov just needs to ''think'' they do so) and divide the money.
* TheBet: Kupitman has one with Bykov about wether Kupitman would sleep with Rita or not. When it seemed what Kupitman may actually won, Bykov hired one of patients to play [[CrazyJealousGuy jealous husband]] in order to scare Kupitman enough to back out -- and lose. Kupitman proceed to insist what bet was "amoral" and thus, illegitimate. In order to force him back into agreement, Bykov asked Rita to pretend to fall for Kupitman's advances, which provoked him into restarting the bet (Bykov immediately stated his condition: to rise the stake to ten thousands instead). But, to Bykov's surprise, Kupitman ''won''. Of course, when Bykov leaved, it turns out to be what Rita is in league with Kupitman, and they divided money 50/50... or, rather, Rita received her money and then forced Kupitman into giving his half, [[{{Blackmail}} otherwise she would reveal to Bykov what in reality, their night was ''very'' humiliating to Kupitman]].
* {{Blackmail}}:
** How Bykov forced Semyon [[SecretKeeper to not reveal the truth about Bykov's prank to Gleb]] -- by pointing out what he just repeats Semyon's own prank, and Gleb would think him traitor anyway when he finds out -- and, more importantly, ''Bykov himself'' would. Lobanov still ultimately snapped when Bykov's prank goes too far -- and Bykov immediately did exactly what he threatened to do.
** Rita forced Kupitman to give her ''all'' money they won from Bykov, otherwise she would tell to him what in reality, instead of night of love, it was night of humiliation -- for Kupitman.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Bykov hired one [[BigGuy scary enough patient]] to play Rita's very jealous and very aggressive boyfriend, in order to scare Kupitman (so he would not lost the bet about Kupitman scoring with Rita).
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Neither Phil nor his patient Sasha did think about possible consequences of gay couple adopting a kid in rampantly homophobic Russia. Phil (who suffered from constant homophobia-induced abuse throughout all his childhood, despite living in ''USA'') realised this in time to talk couple out of it by mentioning possible complications. What he also forgot to mention, homosexuals and/or transsexuals have low chances to even adopt a kid in the first place, and high chance to lost them to child services when someone finds out and complains; this happened on more than one occasion.
* DirtyOldMan: Reason why Bykov refused to help Kupitman to hit on Rita: Kupitman is old, relatively ugly creep, and Bykov considers him to be lost case.
* TheDogBitesBack: When both his "dates" turns out to be fake, Gleb attached girl's panties he found early on news-board with humiliating note. Unfortunately, his vengeance is misplaced, since both "dates" were pranks (first one organised by Lobanov, second by Bykov), and panties actually belongs to... ''Kisegach'' (Bykov stole them in order to use as bait). After this, [[SecretKeeper Lobanov]] snapped and tell him the truth.
