Interns undergo a secret drill, purposed to test how they would deal with extreme situations, which they fails... and which also means that Bykov had lost his bet with Kupitman. Now he wants a revanche, but for that he must train his interns first. After several drills, Bykov decides that he is ready for revanche: this time, ''he'' would be their "dying patient". And to raise stakes, he would take a drug which would make him look like a real deadman; it is harmless... as far as he knows.

Semyon is uncertain what to do now, when he knows about Irina's son. When, following Gleb's advice, he decides to learn more about Kirill, he realises that he wants nothing to do with him; especially since now Irina tries to just force him to watch for Kirill while she's away. Fortunately, she reacts surprisingly well when he tells her that he can't stand Kirill.

Varya busts Lyuba with a DVD with compilation of erotic movies... but instead of shaming her, she is interested in it. But when she tries to watch it, she gets interrupted by yet another Bykov's drill, and leaves without turning it off, which leads to Bykov finding it. Now, he must find who watched it. And it may only be Varya... or Phil. Bykov sticks with latter option, and punishes him. Now, Varya must return the DVD to Lyuba before anyone else gets harmed. But Phil finds it first, and now demands that she must tell Bykov, so he would stop mocking him.

Lobanov realises that wether he likes it or not, he may not remove Kirill from Irina's life, so it may be better to at least try to come along with him if he wants to have any future with Irina. And Phil, who was already punished for a crime he didn't commit, decides to just try and see what's so special about Varya's DVD... only to be ''instantly'' busted by Bykov.

Bykov's attempt to test his interns goes completely wrong when no one believes that he really is in danger, and proceeds to ignore him, leaving Kupitman to be the only one who fears that something bad may occur. And it does -- with Kupitman, who suffers a near fatal heart attack, while Bykov was completely out of danger: the "drug" was just a pack of vitamins.

* TheBet: Bykov and Kupitman had one about wether interns could "save" Kupitman in time during their drill; they can't, which means that Kupitman'd won. Bykov never accepts his defeat so easy, so later he organises another test, this time with himself as the "patient".
* CantGetAwayWithNuthin: When Phil decides that he may watch that Varya's porn DVD, since he's already punished for it (despite being innocent), so there's nothing to lose... and he ''instantly'' gets busted and punished by Bykov, before he even turns it on.
* ChildHater: Lobanov is not sure wether he even wants to continue his relationship with Irina now, when he knows about her son Kirill. Even Gleb points out that he is too quick to dump her just for it, and it may be not that bad after all. Lobanov tries to follow his advice... and now Irina considers that he may help her with Kirill, and even leaves him with Lobanov for a whole day. Even their date gets "ruined" by Kirill, because she bring him along to a restaurant, and later he prevents Semyon from having sex with her. When Lobanov finally snaps, he destroys Kirill's toy railroad (with which he played in the same room), then he tells Irina explicitly that does not want to interact with Kirill in any way; thankfully, she reacts surprisingly well.
* CryingWolf: By the time when Bykov attempts his second test (by taking drugs which would make him looking like a real dying patient), everyone are already tired of his drills, and considers this to be just another one. Only Kupitman believes that Bykov is in real danger, because he never trusted safety of Bykov's drug to begin with. In the end, interns turns out to be right: the "drug" in question was just vitamins. Unfortunately, Kupitman himself suffers a ''real'' heart attack.

* FakingTheDead: For second [[SecretTest test]] of his interns' skills, Bykov decided to play terminal patient himself (first time it was Kupitman). But just pretending is too easy; no, he would take drug which would make him look like he's really dead. It is harmless! At least, supposed to be...
** In the end, "drug" turns out to be just vitamins, and only one to believe what it was dangerous was Kupitman – who suffered near-fatal heart attack out of stress.
* FriendToAllChildren: In contrast with [[ChildHater Semyon]], Gleb comes along with Kirill perfectly and even plays with him while Irina away on work. When Kirill suggested what maybe Irina should "become friends" with him instead of Semyon, Lobanov realised what maybe he should at least try to tolerate him, if he wants to have any future with Irina.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: Bykov's attempt to fake his near-death (to motivate his interns work harder) fools only one guy – Kupitman... who, once Bykov turns out to be alright, has heart attack out of stress; fortunately, he survives.

* PoorCommunicationKills: Varya borrowed erotic DVD from Lyuba and watched it during night shift, but failed to retrieve it, which lead to Bykov noticing it. Now, he has two suspects – Varya, and Phil (only them was on that night shift). Varya keep her involvement secret, and Bykov punished Phil. Later, Phil confronted Varya and tried to persuade her into telling Bykov the truth, but once Bykov appears and mistakes Phil for agitating Varya into watching porn, Varya played along, which made Phil's situation even worse.
* SecretTest: Interns was not informed what they were tested, right until they failed that test. Bykov is not happy with this result, and decided to make several more similar tests, until they do it right.
