Gleb's attempt to put a prank on Varya goes badly, and, after their quarrel, Gleb accuses Varya of simply lacking the sense of humour. So, Varya decides to prove otherwise... only to realise in process that Gleb is right.

Lobanov must treat none other than Edgard Zapashny, the famous big cats tamer.

Levin decides to experiment on a lab rat... only for Lyuba to find that rat and decide to take it as her pet. When Levin attempts to take the rat back, Lyuba reacts negatively. Meanwhile, Lobanov learns about the rat, which scares him to no end; being accused of fearing rats, he decides to ask Zapashny for advice; when Zapashny's idea does not work, he tries to just invite Edgard here... only to learn that he fears rats, too.

Kupitman suggested what Bykov ruined it [[{{Troll}} intentionally]], so Kysegach, realising what her screaming on him is exactly what he want, decided to leave Bykov without his "reward": by not screaming, no matter how he would try to provoke her.
