* DownerEnding: The first SeasonFinale to be quite bleak. Barry's speed is still running out, TheBadGuyWins indefinitely, Sue now has to go on the lam because of a FrameUp, the prisoners in the Mirrorverse are are still trapped and are nowhere near figuring out how to escape, and to top it all off, ''something'' happens to Iris while inside the Mirrorverse. Thank goodness for that RayOfHopeEnding.

* BaitAndSwitch: Seeing Eva pull Esperanza Garcia, Kimiyo Hoshi, and Natalie Sharp into the Mirrorverse suggested they were going to be captive as well and that it was Mirror copies confronting Carver and Team Flash. Turns out Eva gave them the choice to turn on their boss [[TrappedInVillainy in exchange of being free of him]].
* TheBusCameBack: Some {{Recurring Character}}s through the season returned: Esperanza Garcia, Sue Dearbon, Kimiyo Hoshi, Natalie Sharp, and Mirror Singh. Harry Wells has a minor appearance.

* ShoutOut: Ralph refers to the light-based assassins as [[Series/CharliesAngels Carver's Angels]].

* MindRape: A heroic version when Allegra used the special stone Nash gave to her against Ultraviolet, making her relive her worst memory. To be fair to Allegra, she doesn't know what the stone actually does until Nash told her.

** While not originally a SeasonFinale, the massive industry problems that came with the UsefulNotes/CoronavirusDisease2019Pandemic forced the show's crew to hastily reconfigure this episode into being one, with Grant Gustin (Barry Allen) warning that it may not have the same level of closure as previous finales.

* DealWithTheDevil: Mirror Singh tries to barter with Barry for Iris' freedom in exchange for Carver. Nash intervenes before Barry could actually make a choice.

* VillainTakesAnInterest: Carver towards Nash's smoke bomb-teleporter, even asking

* FrameUp: Sue thinks everything is solved until Ralph reveals Eva set her as Carver's murderer.

* VigilanteExecution: Despite Barry's pleads, Eva successfully kills Carver.

* TillMurderDoUsPart: Eva kills her husband Carver.

Team Flash is forced to protect Carver from Eva's revenge.
