Stan makes plans to send Nina away to a city where she'll be safe, and where he can visit her - he even buys a used car for her to drive, and pays in cash to avoid filling out the registration paperwork. However, when he returns to the safe house, he finds Arkady there, along with two men [[WouldHitAGirl who have beaten Nina up]]. He tells Stan if he gives the Soviets information on the Echo computer program ([[Recap/TheAmericansS2E7Arpanet part of Arpanet]]), then Stan and Nina will be free to go live their own lives; otherwise, Nina will be sent back to Moscow to face charges. Stan approaches Gaad about looking into the program.
