I’m pretty sure in “Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful”, SpongeBob was being his usual oblivious self, and just wanted Squidward’s help. Even with that, SpongeBob is a generally Nice Guy and most of the problems he causes are mostly out of stupidity rather than malice.
